Irrespective of which age group you belong to or where you are in life – there are some things that you can (and must) constantly work on to better yourself. Do you sometimes feel like you have the potential to do more but the little things are holding you back? Besides the technicality and experience of your work, it’s really important to dive into cognitive aspects of your brain and keep it functioning no matter what. Just like a tool, your brain tends to rust a little too if not used (no, this is not a dig at all you dumdums. Or maybe it is).

That’s exactly why you should have at least one of these brain training apps on your phone to get those brain juices flowing.

Lumosity

This is one of the popular apps amongst the ones that help you discover your cognitive capability. It contains games that help in improving your memory, problem-solving capacity, increase your attention span and better your reasoning. Each session consists of 3 games, all of which challenge your brain to activate thinking and solve problems effectively.

ReliefLink

This started off as a suicide prevention app which is now used by many as a general tracked of your everyday moods. “A fitness pal that can track all things related to your mental health” is how Dr Kaslow, developer of the app described it. It comes with out-of-the-box coping strategies such as mindfulness and relaxation methods through voice record sessions. It also has relaxation music to calm your mind through anxiety or panic attacks.
It also acts as a facilitator between patients and real-time therapists in case necessary based on their geographical location.

Not The Hole Story

Want to satisfy your appetite of solving ridiculously hard riddles? This one is a must-have for you. The app comes with unique riddles that have to be solved using a book. There are hints now and then through your way. Only when you give up, the answers will be revealed but we’re not the giving up kind, are we?? Yeah, thought so. Download this app and get solving. This one is my personal favourite.

Eidetic

From a person who struggles to retain things I have to, this one is a gold mine. This app helps in enhancing your memory using a technique called ‘spaced repetition’. It helps its users to memorize personal information like passwords, credit card details, contact details and more. Additional effort is put into notifying the user of the time to take the test to help with comprehending information in your long-term memory.

PERSONAL ZEN

A journey that you can embark with two animated characters traveling through a field. This app is meant for spending some time with yourself, reducing your anxieties and increasing your productivity by ten folds. The developer’s advice is to use the app for 10 minutes a day to see the best results.
