If you have spent a few lazy days wondering what it will take to increase your productivity this lockdown, welcome to the club. I have had days of trying to get a routine but failing to keep it consistent every time. So, I began to wonder, research and use that lazy brain of mine.

There is no better time to start being productive than this never ending lockdown. How do I know? Well, in these past 30 or so days, I have learnt and processed and finally come to a conclusion. If you want to make the most of your time, you need to know where the change needs to begin. I’m going to share with you a few things that turned my life around for the better and hopefully they’ll do for you too. Once you start, of course! 

  • The Power of Daily Intentions

    You can strive to be better only when you make small changes everyday. A daily intention can act as a focus point around which you can center your priorities, to-do lists, and basically your entire day. Let each intention be limitless so you can work on it with each passing day and add on new ones! Trust me, it WILL make a difference – one day at a time.

  • That hobby is still waiting!

    Do you remember what you wanted to be while you were growing up? Does it bother you that you’re not pursuing it anymore? Good. Turn that feeling around by taking it up NOW. I know there are 9-5 jobs (from home now!) that you must attend to but it is equally important for you to know that there is nothing better than doing something you love, setting deadlines for yourself and taking a break from your routine work. And it could be ANYTHING!

  • Mornings are the MOST productive

    I know you’ve heard this just about a million times but I’ll say it for the million and one time. Mornings are (it’s not just me, it’s proven by studies!). I was struggling to write this article for two days after which I decided to wake up early on a Sunday and just get at it. Voila! 30 minutes and done. It’s all about increasing your productive hours and mornings are the answer to that mystery.

  • Jump into the world of Gratitude

    Do not underestimate the power of gratitude. It starts from a small thank you and ends in a pool of being thankful. Oh boy, the things you’ll find to be grateful for every day will literally blow your mind. Write it down in your journal or make small voice notes. It won’t take more than 10 minutes but the impact it will start having on the way you look at the world is immeasurable. It will also make you open to other suggestions, ideas and perspectives, giving you a broad horizon to explore.

  • Your brain is bored

    Your brain constantly needs to be exercised just like your body. Yup, I know most of you are thinking how your body doesn’t get exercise either but that’s all the more reason to start using your biggest asset. Problem solving is not just an entrance exam subset, it is an aspect of everyday life. Solve puzzles, play Sudoku or just take up any activity that will help your brain to not get bored.
