This launch marked a significant moment for gamers in India, as they eagerly awaited the sleeker and more compact version of Sony’s flagship console.

At the heart of the event was not just the PS5 Slim itself, but also the accompanying accessories that Sony introduced- the Inzone headphones and earbuds. These accessories promised to enhance the immersive gaming experience that the PS5 is known for, delivering crystal-clear audio and ergonomic design. I got to try out the Inzone Headset myself and it is well-worth the accompaniment of your gaming PC and PS5. The launch event was nothing short of spectacular, featuring interactive showcases where attendees could experience firsthand the power and capabilities of the PS5. From stunning graphics to lightning-fast loading times, the console left a lasting impression on all who tried it.

In addition to the gaming competition, there were other exciting casual competitions where attendees could win accessories by participating in quizzes centred around the popular anime series, Demon Slayer. This added a fun and engaging element to the event, bringing together gaming and anime fans to celebrate pop culture.

Overall, the launch of the PS5 Slim at the Mumbai Comic Con was a resounding success, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the opportunity to get their hands on the latest offering from Sony. With its sleek design, powerful performance, and exciting lineup of accessories, the PS5 Slim promises to redefine the gaming experience for years to come.

An Adventure Through Time: How Gaming Evolved Over The Years

What comes to your mind when I say gaming? If you ask me, I picture a massive screen coupled with a powerful PC (Yes, a PC) preferably housing an RTX 4090 for the utmost immersion and indulgence while I spend my hours away playing games. I understand there is a big chunk of console purists who would argue gaming on a PS5 or the latest Xbox provinces a superior experience but to each his own. We live in times where gamers have an array of options to choose from. Be it a console, PC, or handheld compact hybrid console, there is freedom of choice like no other in the current scenario. However, this was not always the case.

Gaming has come a long way since its humble beginnings, evolving from simple pixelated adventures to immersive virtual realities. Over the years, advancements in technology have transformed gaming into an extraordinary form of entertainment that captivates millions around the world. Today we’re embarking on a fascinating journey through the evolution of gaming, exploring the milestones, innovations, and unforgettable experiences that have shaped the industry into what it is today.

The Birth of an Industry

The origins of gaming can be traced back to the early days of arcades and home consoles. Pong, the iconic table tennis simulation, burst onto the scene in 1972 and became the first commercially successful video game. This simple yet addictive game paved the way for the rise of arcade machines and home gaming systems.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, consoles like the Atari 2600 and the Intellivision introduced a new level of gaming experience to households. Players could now enjoy a variety of games, from the pixelated adventures of Pitfall! to the spaceship battles of Space Invaders. These consoles sparked a gaming revolution, establishing gaming as a mainstream form of entertainment.

The Golden Age of Consoles

The 1980s witnessed the birth of gaming’s most iconic characters and franchises. Super Mario Bros. captured the hearts of millions with its side-scrolling platforming action, while The Legend of Zelda introduced gamers to sprawling fantasy worlds filled with puzzles and quests. These games set the standard for storytelling and gameplay mechanics, laying the foundation for future generations of games. Super Mario Bros. with its loveable characters Mario and Luigi managed to carve a place in people’s hearts decades ago and the IP keeps on generating billions of dollars each year thanks to its prominence in mainstream pop culture.

In the 1990s, the console wars heated up, pitting Sega Genesis against Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Sonic the Hedgehog raced onto the scene, providing fierce competition to Nintendo’s mascot, Mario. This rivalry ignited a wave of innovation, with each console pushing the limits of technology and introducing groundbreaking games like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat.

The Rise of PC Gaming

While consoles dominated the living rooms, personal computers (PCs) became the platform of choice for a different breed of gamers. The PC gaming scene flourished, offering a vast array of genres and experiences. The point-and-click adventures of Monkey Island and the real-time strategy of Warcraft captivated gamers with their intricate narratives and strategic gameplay.

The introduction of CD-ROM technology in the mid-1990s further revolutionized PC gaming. CD-ROMs allowed for more expansive worlds, enhanced graphics, and immersive soundtracks. Games like Myst, with its atmospheric puzzles, and Diablo, with its dark fantasy setting, pushed the boundaries of what was possible in gaming.

The Era of 3D and Beyond

The late 1990s witnessed a significant leap forward with the advent of three-dimensional (3D) graphics. Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 showcased the immersive potential of 3D environments, allowing players to explore vast, interactive worlds like never before.

As technology progressed, so did the gaming industry. The early 2000s saw the rise of online gaming, where players could connect and compete with others around the globe. Massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) like World of Warcraft and EverQuest brought players together in virtual realms, fostering communities and friendships that transcended geographical boundaries.

The 2010s brought a new wave of innovation with the emergence of mobile gaming. Smartphones and tablets provided a platform for gaming on the go, and casual games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush Saga captured the attention of both dedicated gamers and casual players alike. If your mom or dad don’t spend a big chunk of their time trying to solve candy crush puzzles throughout the day then you’re a lucky one as I cannot say that for myself!

Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies entered the mainstream, offering immersive experiences that transported players into virtual worlds or blended the real and digital realms. Games like Pokémon Go brought the magic of augmented reality into the everyday lives of millions, allowing players to capture virtual creatures in real-world locations. The Pokémon Go era genuinely allowed people to understand the immersion AR allows in gaming as teenagers were seen running around in herds trying to catch a Pikachu on the streets.

It is no secret that gaming has evolved from simple pixelated adventures to immersive, multi-dimensional experiences that engage players on an emotional and interactive level. Technological advancements, fierce competition, and the creative minds of game developers have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the world of gaming.

As we look to the future, it’s clear that gaming will continue to evolve and surprise us with new innovations. From virtual reality to artificial intelligence, the possibilities are endless. So, grab your controller, don your virtual reality headset, and get ready for the next chapter in the ever-evolving world of gaming. The adventure awaits! Creator of the Month – Rohit Zinjurke

Exhibit Magazine: Can you tell us briefly about your background and how you started your journey as a creator?

Rohit Zinjurke: If it wasn’t for content creation, I would still work as a sales executive in a textile shop. Wherever I have worked, I have always been sincere. However, content creation was my calling. I used to do both together until I realised how much potential the digital world has.

Ex: How did you first realise that you were gaining popularity, and what was your initial reaction?

Rohit: When I was at my earlier job as an executive, I had a wholesaler who had come to the shop and immediately recognised me. Also, many customers kept looking at me as if they’d seen me somewhere. That’s when I realised that I was getting there. I was absolutely humbled and knew this was my path.

Ex: How has your life changed since you became a creator, and how have you adapted to your newfound fame and success?

Rohit: More than my life, I feel like I have changed because I am surrounded with so much love that it urges me to be a better person and to make better content every day.

Ex: What do you think sets your content apart from others, and what do you believe contributed to its success?

Rohit: More than my content, I feel like it’s me as a person that my audience relates to.

Ex: Can you tell us about any memorable challenges or obstacles you faced on your journey to success and how you overcame them?

Rohit: There is no one specific challenge because every day, there is something challenging about what we do. Whether it is creating content, editing, or scripting.

Ex: Who are some of your favourite fashion photographers or creators that you look up to?

Rohit: I like Rohan Shrestha and Dabboo Ratnani’s work. For me, a person who is comfortable in their own skin is fashionable. So I can’t name one person as everyone is fashionable in their own way.

Ex: How do you engage with your audience and build a community through your vlog?

Rohit: By keeping it real and raw.

Ex: Can you tell us about any upcoming projects or collaborations you have in the pipeline?

Rohit: Picture ahi baaki hai mere dost. There is so much I have to offer, but I can’t reveal everything just yet. You will have to wait and watch.

Ex: What advice would you give to aspiring vloggers or creators who are just starting out?

Rohit: Respect your craft, and it’s okay if you haven’t figured it all out. Take it as it comes, and have fun with it.

Ex: How are you feeling after crossing 25 million people on Instagram at the age of 22?

Rohit: Imagine receiving love from 25 million amazing souls! I feel absolutely blessed, but my journey has just begun. And this also means that I’ve got the responsibility of entertaining an audience of 25M, so while I am super joyed, I am also working very hard.

Civilization Fans Rejoice: New Mainline Game in the Works

Civilization is one of the most iconic and beloved video game franchises ever. The turn-based strategy game, which challenges players to build and manage a civilization from the ground up, has entertained and engaged players for over 30 years. Now, fans of the series are excited as Firaxis Games, the studio behind the franchise has announced that a new mainline Civilization game is in development.

The announcement was made during a live stream event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Civilization series. While details about the new game were sparse, the mere fact that it is in development will surely be music to the ears of Civilization fans worldwide. With updated graphics, new civilizations, and improved gameplay mechanics, the new game promises to be just as engaging and addictive as its predecessors.

Firaxis Games is no stranger to the Civilization series. The studio has been responsible for developing the franchise since the release of Civilization III in 2001. Since then, the studio has released several entries in the series, including Civilization IV, Civilization V, and Civilization VI. Each entry has added new mechanics, improved graphics, and expanded gameplay options, making the series even more enjoyable for players.

The new mainline Civilization game promises to build upon the success of the previous entries while introducing new gameplay mechanics and features. Fans can expect the same addictive turn-based strategy gameplay that they know and love, but with new and exciting twists that will keep them engaged for hours on end.

One particular thing is that the new game will feature a wide range of civilizations for players to choose from. In past entries, players have been able to play as civilizations worldwide, from ancient Greece to modern-day America. Each civilization has unique strengths and weaknesses, making each playthrough a unique experience.

In addition to new civilizations, the game will likely feature updated graphics and improved gameplay mechanics. Firaxis has always been committed to making the Civilization series accessible to newcomers and franchise veterans, so players can expect a game that is easy to learn but difficult to master.

While there is no official release date for the new mainline Civilization game, fans can rest assured that Firaxis Games is challenging at work, creating the best possible experience for them. In the meantime, fans can look forward to updates and announcements from Firaxis as they work to bring the next instalment of the Civilization series to life.

The gaming industry has grown up so rapidly, and when you’re into multiplayer games, having proper gaming headphones is a must-have accessory. The headsets help you focus on the game and prevent others from loud, unwanted sounds like gunfire.

In my opinion, HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset is one of the best gaming headsets in the current market. They’re lightweight, extremely comfortable to wear, sound incredible and have a swivel-to-mute microphone. What else do you need?

Gaming Chair

A true gamer must know the time gamers spend in one sitting, and everyone knows what happens afterwards. Yes, back pain and several other health issues. Well, to remain in the gaming community, one must get an adjustable gaming chair that offers good lumbar support to help prevent pain in the lower back. If the chair supports all the way up from the head and neck to the lower back, that’s a heavenly ride.

Gaming Mouse – Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury (Wired)

Now that you have purchased a gaming keyboard, headset and chair then, why are you keeping yourself away from buying the gaming mouse? Just go and get it because, without it, you are not going far away in the game.

Logitech G402 is the all-time best-selling gaming mouse. It features Fusion Engine High-Speed Tracking technology which helps you achieve a tracking speed of 500IPS. It has an ergonomic design and is comfortable for extended hours of gaming.

Blue Light Glasses

When you play for long hours, it’s obvious your eyes are going to get tired, and we don’t realise it until we start dealing with regular headaches and screen fatigue. Getting blue light-blocking glasses would be a recommended accessory, even though they have not been scientifically proven to relieve eye strain. They’re made to block blue-light wavelengths from your screen, which makes them a must-buy for every gamer or perhaps for everyone who spends a long time in front of the screen.
