Nus Nexstgo Primx201 Review

Nexstgo is a Hongkong based laptop-maker introduced the new commercial laptop for consumers. They’ve offered uncompromising performance into a compact and lightweight chassis that is expected from a modern laptop. Does it deserve to be the perfect laptop for productivity? Let’s check it out.

Nexstgo is a brand new entrant in the Indian laptop market and named it – PRIMUS, which means ‘first’ in Latin, not only represents the company’s first commercial laptop but also embodies industry-leading product and specification design. The laptop is constructed with magnesium alloy for strength. The brand claims that the NX201 has passed 72 hardware tests, including 12 US military-grade tests that assess a machine’s performance in case of extreme weather or hard external impact. The Laptop comes with 15.6-inches LED display with a slightly thick bezel, which is slightly off-putting for most of the consumers. The IPS panel on the NX201 comes with 15.6-inch full HD display and offers matte finish to get rid of light bouncing off the screen. The text and the pictures on the display come across as crisp even in full brightness. For Biometric, Nexstgo features both fingerprint and Windows hello. The fingerprint is located below the up-down arrow key. Unlocking Windows was quicker and it registered my fingerprint position at any angle. The laptop also utilizes camera sensors along with infrared imaging to authentic and unlock Windows.

The Nexstgo keyboard is well spaced out and it is fully backlit, useful while working in dark environments. Writing an article for a long hour using Nexstgo keyboard was a comfortable experience. The trackpad is smooth and easy to use.

The Nexstgo uses Intel’s latest 8th generation processor. They have four cores rather than the two cores from previous generation processor. Our NX201 has an Intel Core i7-8550U processor paired with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. You also get Intel HD Graphics 620 on board, but since this is a shared graphics chip, it’s not powerful enough for the latest games. Older and more simple titles such as Counter-Strike 1.6 and Battlefield 3 will be fine at a lower resolution, but anything else will be too much for it.

Coming to the battery, the laptop shines across the board. The Nexstgo NX201’s lithium polymer battery takes care of the laptop for over 10 hours on regular use. Heavy users might need to plug it within 4-5 hours. It all depends on how we use it.

The Nexstgo NX201 has impressed with its computing abilities and decent battery life. The machine is ready to handle all day-to-day tasks competently. However, the given price tag is slightly expensive coming from new entrant laptop manufacturers.
