WhatsApp New Features

Our favorite Instant Messaging App, WhatsApp announced 5 new features that will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Usually, WhatsApp’s new features are limited to Android and iOS devices but this time its also for Web and KaiOS versions. In order to provide better messaging and call experience to its users, the Facebook-owned company tweeted rolling out of Animated stickers, QR codes, Dark Mode for Web and Desktop, Improved video calls, and more.

While there has been no update on the release of WhatsApp’s highly anticipated feature that they’ve been working on for the longest time now, the Multiple device support where users can access the app on two different devices with the same phone number, seems like the wait is still on. But, here’s a lowdown on the 5 New features that are coming soon:

  1. Dark Mode for Web and Desktop Versions: Dark mode on Android and iOS devices was released long back but finally it’s coming to your big screens too that’ll help to strain your eyes a little lesser. WhatsApp Web Dark Mode
  2. Animated Stickers: WhatsApp already supports stickers but they are stagnant ones, to make your chatting experience fun, they are now going to roll out animated sticker packs similar to GIFs that you can view, save, send or forward once downloaded. According to reports, there’s one thing that might be not so exciting about this feature is that they can be played only once and not on a loop.
  3. QR Codes: With this new feature, you can add contacts to your WhatsApp without even having to ask for contact numbers. Simply scan the person’s unique QR code and voila! they’re added to your contacts. You don’t need to type numbers anymore which makes the process a lot easier and saves time.
  4. Improved Video Calls: Earlier WhatsApp had increased its video call limit from four to eight participants and now has added new features to improve your video call experience. Now you can maximize any one of your contacts by simply pressing and holding that participant’s video to full screen. A video icon has also been added to groups with 8 or fewer participants, so now you can simply tap the video icon to start a group call. WhatsApp New Features
