Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

The Vogue Vanity: Yes, it definitely increases with the popularity of an individual, be it an influencer or any artist from any industry. The more you grow, the more mouths will speak. But as we said, always know the difference between whose opinions are to be respected and whose here just to seek attention.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

The Vogue Vanity: No, it definitely isn’t a fad. Though, many people haven’t really understood the real meaning and depth of it, which is somewhere because of the lack of knowledge. But then, we definitely see it as the next big thing in the future as everything in the world and every single brand itself is now going digital.

Shanice Shrestha | Lifestyle | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Shanice: There are so many opportunities now, all the newcomers can just start and have so many brands approach them and have a set audience accepting their genre of work, already set by the others who have been here a long time. It wasn’t always like this when I started so that makes me happy. It’s now an established field to set a career in!

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Shanice: I think I would definitely be an interior designer. I just really love to do that. Or an actor.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Shanice: My camera, my laptop and phone. That has to sort me out. Make memories and build content until you’re back to the areas with a network hahah!

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Shanice: This part was so difficult to get accustomed to initially. If you ever want to be a blogger, vlogger, social media influencer, the first thing you need to understand is that not everyone’s gonna like you and that’s okay. Hate coming from others never reflects who you are! This is something I tell myself. I have learnt to ignore and sometimes I just give back when people cross their boundaries because I think it’s our responsibility as influencers to make social media a safe place.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Shanice: Well, this meaning has changed so many times upto this stage. To me, now it means to be at a place in life where you want to be, doing something that u love to do and being able to fulfill your dreams through that.

Ex: How do you choose the brands that you want to work with?

Shanice: Strictly on the basis of trial testing and reviews and research on the brand. Remember to be true to your audience! I live by that rule. If some brand is paying you a bomb but you know it’s not something I’m personally ever gonna use or buy with my hard-earned money. I turn it down.

Ex: What according to you will be the next big trend in the Lifestyle blogging industry?

Shanice: Get raw, get personal. Not so much of a trend. But get your audience hooked on to your life and everything around it. It makes you grow and gives you a loyal set of audience. It’s an unseen trend that is yet to be more dominant in the coming years and is going to stay. I promise you!

Mehak Ghai | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

The quality of the content has changed a lot! InflueMehak Ghai (Beauty Influencer)ncers think 10 times before they post a picture on social media. The edit on the picture needs to be perfect, the caption needs to be appropriate to the picture and the feed should be on point.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

It looks like a really easy and fun job to be an influencer. It is a lot of funnn but you don’t know and cannot even imagine the kind of effort you need to put in while creating content. There’s just so much competition now, you have to constantly brainstorm about how to standout!

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options) If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

I always wanted to be an actor and I am an actor now, so I guess I’d just be doing that full time!

3 gadgets – Mobile, Camera, Speakers

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

A feature or an app that can read your mind  & can write what you think in seconds! That would be such a savior!

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

It is always sooooo good to meet people who follow my work! But my favorite has to be when at my first meet and greet, I met a girl and she cried hugging me and told me how much I inspire her. I’ll never forget her.♥️

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

I feel you just gotta be really careful with what you’re putting up and selling your audience. Honestly, I have been really lucky with the audience on my profile, they have been really loving and encouraging. Of course, there’ll always be one or two people who would spread hate but they’re negligible in a crowd of people that love you!

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

They’re always going to people who will try to bring you down, no matter how good you’re doing. PLEASE, and I cannot stress on this enough, DO NOT let it get to you! Maybe 10% percent people are hating on you but the other 90% love you and appreciate you for inspiring them everyday! Do not get demotivated, you’re doing amazing!

Ex: What does success mean to you?

If you’re happy as a person and proud of your accomplishments, you’re successful!

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

A lot of people think that Influencer Marketing is only a trend and it’ll fade away after a point of time. Well, I have been in this market for over 5 years now and I’ve only seen it grow. This space will only grow bigger in years to come!

Ex: When was the first time you bought your dream makeup product and which one was it?

I was really excited about Huda beauty products before they were made available in India. So I went on a crazy shopping spree in Dubai and bought a lot of Huda Beauty makeup products from Sephora.

Ex: What would you tell young girls when it comes to ideals of beauty that our society has set up?

You do you, girl. Please don’t care about what others have to tell you about your fashion sense. You’re the only one who can define your style. You’re beautiful just the way you are, so keep it going!

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Mrunal: According to me all someone needs to know is what their strong points are and that needs to be backed up with consistency. I feel consistency along with working on what you’re good at makes you relevant.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Mrunal: Doctor.I know it sounds weird but yeah this is true as I was studying medical prior to this

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Mrunal: A gadget which can do your makeup for you!

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Mrunal: There are a lot of Dms I get from my fans and my well wishers where they praise my work and motivate me which sure keeps me going. Can’t name one, but all these things make me emotional and motivated.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Mrunal: There are positives and negatives of everything and everything is about perspective. I always accept constructive criticism and well, we all just have to evolve. In short, it depends on how you take it.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Mrunal: When you make the people who love and support you proud and happy, and a smile on my family’s faces.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Mrunal: Influencer Marketing, I feel is the best option because you reach out to people personally as the audience connects more organically with their favourites (influencers) rather than traditional marketing.

Ex: When was the first time you bought your dream makeup product and which one was it?

Mrunal: It was in 2019 when i bought it from my earned money and it was James Charles Palette

Ex: What would you tell young girls when it comes to ideals of beauty that our society has set up?

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Shruti: Trolling is on the rise and I don’t know if it’s because of the popularity or talent or what. Trollers are faceless people who are just jealous of the people they troll.what they don’t understand is the impact it can have on the person and their family. I honestly feel sorry for the trollers. I’ve been trolled and I won’t lie, it did affect me a little initially but then I realised that these people need help and I hope they get it.

Shruti: As I said, each influencer has their niche, and the content we create is v specific and true to our art. What works for me is that I keep trying new and different things.

My advice for beginners in this field would be, don’t be shy to try new things, you never know what might work for you.

Ex: What’s the hardest part about being in this space?

Shruti: Consistency. As influencers, we have to be consistent. Even on our bad/hard days we have to create content. It looks and sounds easy but thinking and creating takes a lot of time and effort

Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Social media is a limitless source of knowledge that keeps evolving over time. Now, people are more aware about what they can do with it than they were before. It’s a blessing or a curse, depending on how you exist in this space. E.g: people are now ready to invest more in social media but there are certain restrictions to what you can say and what you can do.

Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Everybody has their own path to success. There is no definite way to do it. What a creator develops over time, More than insights I think they are superstitions. A creator might upload his/her content on a particular day or time because they have found success with it and are now sticking to it. It may not work for others but it does for him/her.

What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

I would like to make triple-A (AAA) games that take more than 4-5 years to make.

If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

My Nintendo switch, my laptop and a guitar. I don’t know how to play a guitar but I will figure it out as that would be the best time.

A  technology you wished you’d invented?

Triple-A (AAA) games or Animation.

Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

When you become a public figure I believe you’ll be discussed by a lot of people and it won’t always be nice things,no matter who you are. I don’t expect everybody to say good things about me. I think that’s too much to ask. A little hate keeps me on the ground so I can work towards getting better.

Tanzeel Khan | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Tanzeel: I’ve started being really active and religiously following the digital blogging scene since 2016 now. Honestly, this very space has evolved a lot… as we have a lot of beautiful and hardworking creators all over social media platforms. Which were not really active a year or two before. Availability of Internet everywhere is one of the reasons I’m guessing

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?
Tanzeel: There’s no special formula or spell that actually works. I personally feel consistency is the key, and anlaysing what your audience loves and giving them exactly they want from you

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?
Tanzeel: My mobile phone, my laptop and my microphone.

Ex: A technology you wish you had invented?
Tanzeel: I wish I would’ve invented aircrafts

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)
Tanzeel: Every fan encounter has been very special… I won’t segregate any into the favourite , but there’s one when I was in the canteen of my college and a junior walked up to me and said “Tanzeel Bhai I’m a big fan of you and specially your hairstyle, and I try and manage to keep my hair like you” That really motivated me, since It made me realise how I am at a point who can actually influence people without actually knowing them

Ex: What does success mean to you?
Tanzeel: Success for me is Serenity

Ahsaas Channa | Social Media | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Ahsaas: In my opinion, this industry is growing and evolving every day, but a very evident change that I’ve seen over time is that the audience has become smarter and more aware about what’s going on which makes the bloggers even more mindful and informed about what their content is.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Ahsaas: I think we get a chance to directly understand what our audience likes and what content works. We can modify our content according to our audience and TG.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Ahsaas: Filmmaking and direction is something that has always caught my interest, so not just in a parallel universe, I would like to explore myself as a director later in future as I study about it even more and think I’m ready.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Ahsaas: Honestly, there are a few on my list but at the moment I think that’s very crucial and could be of a lot of use is a device that tells you or a device you can see through and detect Corona virus germs. It’ll be easier for people to prevent themselves from getting infected. I’m just being too ambitious.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Ahsaas: So I have a whole album in my phone gallery that has screenshots of fan dms, whenever I’m low or feeling not very confident about myself. I read them, and it keeps me going. But there was this one time when two girls came all the way from Pune to a Mumbai college where they came to know I’m coming as a chief guest. They got me gifts and literally freaked out when they saw me. I tried to spend as much time as I could. It was amazing.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Ahsaas: I would lie if I said it’s not that difficult or I handle it well, I’m a person in general who’s always vulnerable and sensitive and when I see hate, judgments, harsh opinions etc. I get very low. But talking to a friend and always seeing the bright side and the greater love you get always helps. I guess it just makes me stronger and more aware of my mistakes if I make any.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Ahsaas: Making my mother proud.

Ex: With the growing number of bloggers and Influencers today, how does your content stand out? Any tips for beginners in this field?

Ahsaas: The only thing I try to do and keep in mind is to be myself, even if there’s a promotion involved I always make it about me and try to be as relatable as possible.

Ex: What’s the hardest part about being in this space?

Ahsaas: The most difficult and crucial part about this space is being consistent and relevant.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Meghna:  It won’t be an insight anymore if I give it away, right?

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Meghna:  I remember my very first fan encounter, this girl came up to me and went “OMG I love you so much, I’m shivering” I was like “OMG same”

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Meghna:  Most of the time I get criticised for not being good at things but I don’t deny it, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I do it anyway cause it makes me happy and I want to explore myself. Honestly, it doesn’t matter if 10 people tell you you’re not good at it, there’ll be one person who will like it and you can contribute to their happiness.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Meghna:  There’s this song lyrics by Kanye west that says

“there will always be haters, that’s the way it is” so just move on, don’t give them a lot of attention cause in the end it’s what makes you happy.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Meghna:  Success means not knowing what day of the week it is.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Meghna:  I feel if one platform goes another comes along and the amount of people who are coming in and trying new/different types of content are insane.

Influencer marketing is growing tremendously fast and will continue to do so.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Meghna:  I really really want to go to Maldives.

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Kamiya: I started my journey in the digital space almost 4 years ago and I have to admit that the rules of the game change everyday. Most influencers associate digital with social media but the ban of TikTok is a big example of how we should not rely on social media alone.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Kamiya: Position yourself as an expert in one specific area that you are truly passionate about. DON’T BE – Jack of all, master of none.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Kamiya: I was and would probably go back to being a Journalist/News Anchor.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Kamiya: It’s very nice to receive sweet DMs from the online community. But there was one that had me in splits. It said, “Dear Kamiya, Tumhara intezaar karu ya dusri ka intezam karu. Aj tum decide karlo” – (his name) I reshared by stating, “Karle bhai karle, Quarantine tak toh koi chance nahi

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Kamiya: There is this dialogue in the film Guru, “Jab log tumhare khilaaf bolne lage, samjh lo tarakki kar rahe ho” So here’s how popular influencers should feel.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Kamiya: I would like to say, ‘Success means happiness’ but honestly, it’s just a quote in this practical world. Every time I have set a target for myself benchmarking it as success, the bar only got higher once I got there.

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Kamiya: While travelling solo, sometimes you may find yourself at a place that’s not 100% safe, that’s when you miss having someone around.
