Philips Headphones TAPN505 – Review | Music Sounds Better

Headphones have lost their wires, thanks to the wireless technology. However, wireless headphones can be of different quality levels, depending on the technology used. I have been testing the Philips headphones TAPN505 ANC headphones for a while now and this is the part where I can tell you if it is worth your money.

How does it look?

The Philips headphones TAP505 is a neckband type, in-ear active noise-cancelling headphone. Inside the box, you get the actual headphones, a charging wire, a USB to 3.5mm audio wire and a plush case for the headphone. The TAPN505 comes with simple looks, a neckband that expands towards the edges. On the left side, you get the power button, volume rocker, the Noise Cancellation button and the Google Assitant button. There are built-in LED indicators which show charging, connectivity and noise cancellation status. A flap on the extreme end of the left of the band conceals the micro-USB charging port. The left and the right in-ear buds are slightly angled. You can also see the small pores which contain the microphones to provide active noise cancellation. The design is very simple and the overall package looks neat and well designed.

How does perform Headphones?

Using the Philips TAPN505 is very easy. It quickly detects new Bluetooth devices and pairs instantly with the previously paired ones in the proximity. The in-ear buds fir well into the ears; which allow you to fit rubber tips according to your preference. The ANC toggles between Off, ON and Ambient Noise which essentially is meant to be used when commuting. The Ambient Noise amplifies the surrounding noises giving you a clear idea of everything happening around you. The noise cancellation mode works pretty well and I have tested it during a flight to firm my belief.

Moving to the actual performance of the TAPN505, it did not fail to amuse me. I listen to a variety of music which includes instrument heavy tracks, vocals, instrumental and also modern-day electronic music. The sound output from the TAPN505 is pretty impressive. The 12.2mm neodymium drivers have an impedance of 32 Ohms and sensitivity of 103 dB and a frequency range of 7-40,000 Hz. The sound is very crisp with a lot of details in the highs and lows. The lows are prominent with the bass being quite boomy. There are times when the bass will sound muddy, but it is recommended to turn down the volume a couple of notches to experience the clarity these headphones provide. It comes with a lithium-polymer battery built-in which delivered over 10 hours of listening with ANC doing its job in the background. If you are in a hurry, a simple 5-minute charge assures you 2 hours of playback time. On the connectivity front, the Bluetooth was simple and easy to connect with a strong connection all around the house.

Should you buy it Headphones?

The Philips TAPN505 is a great choice for daily users, especially the ones who love their music. With a great sound output, noise cancellation and long battery life, it is a well-wrapped package which justifies it Rs. 11,990 price tag. Not to mention several offers which are being bundled along with the TAPN505, you will surely not regret buying the TAPN505 for yourself.

Sonal Chahaun Shares Some Tricks To Slay this Summer

The unapologetic, mesmerizing, model turned actress whom we have known long enough to recognize her from her debut in Jannat which was the biggest hit of that year, Sonal Chauhan. In an exclusive interview with Krishti Khound, she walks us through how she cruises through summer and what goes in her head about her fitness routine.

Ex: Hi Sonal! Over the decade of your stardom, you have always striven to convention churning out memorable performances. How do you look back at it now?
SC: Honestly, it is so overwhelming and doesn’t feel like it’s been so long since I got my debut film in Bollywood and went to South Africa to shoot for Jannat. The movie was so well accepted by the audience that it all feels like a dream from the day I moved into the city and started my journey as an actress. It was definitely a huge accomplishment that I am extremely proud of. I also had an amazing experience in the Southern film industry as it gave me an opportunity to grow as a performer. I look forward to performing challenging roles, I am hungry as an artist. The love and the recognition I have got so far from my fans and the people across makes my heart warm. I hope that the journey continues for a very long time.

Ex: Being a part of Bollywood, what were the challenges that came along your way?
SC: The biggest challenge for me was being an outsider who had no connection in the movie or the glamour industry. I come from a very conservative Rajput family my dad who was in the services. Absolutely nobody to ask for guidance. The initial journey was definitely a tough one, it wasn’t as if I began receiving film offers straightaway. The second challenge was that I am an introvert for which it was really difficult to ask for work since that’s how the industry works.

Ex: It might come to you as a surprise but your looks on social media have garnered the hearts of your followers and fans Do you have any tricks to keep up with the cool quotient in the summer?
SC: That’s really nice to know. I am overwhelmed with the support and encouragement I get through my fans. Social media can take a toll on you sometimes but as far as my cool quotient is concerned, it’s the way I am. I don’t pretend to be someone else. I don’t have a social media team behind me I post everything by myself and that’s what connects to my followers.

Ex: Are you someone who gets bored too easily? Tell us how you cruise through your day?
SC: On the contrary, I don’t get bored at all. I am somebody who can stay alone for days at a stretch because I am an introvert. On a day when I am not working, I make it a point to go to the gym, go out.

Ex: With a job like yours comes intensive travelling while juggling in between shoots, especially in the heat. How do you keep your cool?
SC: A trick that works for me is ‘mind over matter’ even when I had to shoot in 50° and that is the biggest challenge of my job. To keep me cool my mantra would be to stay hydrated, protect my skin with sunscreen and eat light which basically means to intake a lot of fruits.

Ex: Fashion is experimental and revolutionary. What are the few summer trends that have kept you hooked religiously?
SC: When it comes to summer fashion, I like clothes which help you breathe. My go-to look will always be denim shorts paired up with a white t-shirt. I prefer pastel shades, easy fabrics like cotton and definitely my sunglasses which are really handy when you talk about summer.

Ex: Are you into fitness and weight training? We’d love to know your thoughts about it?
SC: Yes, I am big time into fitness and I do a mix of everything. It is important to keep yourself physically active in whichever way possible and I always maintain that. So in the summers, I hit the pool because swimming is one of the best exercises for the entire body and at the same time helps you beat the heat. I also like to do weights to keep myself toned, or dance for an hour or go cycling, and do yoga to keep my peace of mind.

Ex: How does Sonal Chauhan unwind her day?
SC: I unwind by speaking to my parents, listening to music, basically falling asleep while binging shows on Netflix.

QUICKIES

  1. What’s your cool quotient?
It has to be my dry, dark sense of humour which offends a lot of people.

To travel light so that you can shop more and explore the place.
  3. One food routine that you follow, especially during summers?
A lot of hydrating drinks from coconut water to juices.
  4. One thing that without which you cannot move out?
    Definitely, my phone.
  5. One tech essential that helps you beat the summer heat?
I would say Air Conditioner but those mini handheld electric fans are a blessing while on a shoot.

If you ask about the recent future it would be my trip to Maldives that I’m planning.

Aditya Roy Kapur Reigning His Way Forward

He is an alchemy of talent, hard work, passion, and effortlessness. Aditya Roy Kapur started his career as a VJ was very content with his job, had no plans of getting into the movie industry, yet has earned all his praise as an actor of this generation. His 2013 musical romantic hit Aashiqui 2 proved that surely a star was born for which he garnered most of the acting awards. Aditya’s upcoming movie ‘Kalank’ with Dharma production promises nothing less than a spectacular experience for his viewers. And believe us, we cannot wait to see him on the big screen again. Aditya Roy Kapur on our April cover spilling the beans of stardom and more.

Ex: Congratulations and good luck with your upcoming movie Kalank. How does it feel when the movie is due to release in less than 2 weeks
ARK: Kalank will be in the theaters in 2 weeks and I cannot be more excited about it. I have prepared very hard for the role and cannot wait for the audience to give their love to this movie.

Ex: The cast in Kalank is quite a diverse one. What was your fondest memory from the sets of the movie?
ARK: I think we were a bunch who used to take our work very seriously. We used to go to set on time, give our shot and leave, we were damn boring that way.

Ex: Social media has become an inseparable part of an actor’s life. Was there any reason that you thought of before joining Instagram?
ARK: I am less on Instagram now, that I am on Instagram. I don’t spend so much of my time in it. It is a crazy place to be. It’s obviously nice to be in here but I like it best when I connect and disconnect to it automatically.

Ex: You are aware of the pros and cons of the social media world, how much does it affect you as an actor?
ARK: I don’t like to think so much about social media. I get to post a lot about my movies or projects and I appreciate the responses from my fans be it good or bad.

Ex: Are you a fitness freak? What is your current fitness regime like
ARK: I won’t call myself a freak but yes I am very careful with what I am eating. The motto is to ‘shut your mouth’ (laughs) by that I mean you have to control your diet. The challenge is to consistency and discipline on your diet with an hour and a half workout every day is necessary. And I tend to follow it quite religiously.

Ex: The world is slowly progressing towards tech. How do you think technology has affected film-making in recent times?
ARK: Film-making and technology are intertwined. It has changed with the evolution of technology. We are being able to make films at huge scales more effectively with lesser time and budget. Filmmakers are able to fulfill their imagination, now you can say ‘if you can think it, you can make it’.

Ex: Do you think the days ahead are going to be technology dominated? What do you think?
ARK: If you look from outside technology has changed everything in the world. In the film industry from your cameras to special effects. Tech is going leaps and bounds improving every year. Technically our industry is at the best place it has ever been, our films are looking better than ever before.

Ex: We know of your undying love for cars. If you had to drive down where would you go?
ARK: Yes I love cars and driving but Mumbai is not the best city for a drive in. But yes I took a road trip to the West coast of America, it was beautiful.

Ex: Are you into gaming?
ARK: Yes of course I am but not an addict. I own a PS4 and I absolutely enjoy it.

Ex: India is becoming a hub of startups. Have you ever considered investing or mentoring in any?
ARK: It is something that has a lot of potential to grow considering especially in India because of our youth with so much talent and a fresh mind. I would definitely consider investing in it.

Ex: What would be your piece of advice for struggling actors, who are still trying to make a mark?
ARK: Just keep giving your best and put out your best shoe forward. Sometimes just working hard and getting experience leads to one thing from another because after a certain point you can’t plan anything. It is very difficult to expect that you will get a perfect start or launch at the beginning of your career but you have got to push yourselves no matter how much failure pulls you down.
