Varun Agrawal | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Varun: It has been a beautiful evolution, with people being a lot more thoughtful now about what goes up on one’s feed, both as a creator and as a viewer. It’s not just a creative space now but also a responsible one.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Varun: I don’t think there’s any secret to these platforms, it’s all out there. That’s what makes it that easy or that difficult!

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Varun: An acoustic jazz sort of a musician maybe.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Varun: It’s like having two sides of a coin, you can’t be expecting all love and no criticism. But that’s what keeps you grounded, that’s what brings the need to be responsible for your content. So I think one should always take things positively and constantly try to improve. Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise.

Ex: Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Varun: Yes of course, popularity of a person is usually the main cause of spreading troll.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Varun: I read a quote once, “Work until you no longer have to introduce yourself.”

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Varun: I definitely don’t think it’s a fad. It’s the most descriptive and analytical form of marketing. It’s the platform that’ll get a brand most connected to their consumers, probably the best way to put their brand story across. If used the right way with the right people, this space can take you to places.

Abhi and Niyu | Changemaker | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

We feel right now people are able to focus more on the content rather than the cosmetic aspects of their art. Because of COVID-19 all the creators are stuck at home and they’re compelled to make content from their homes. Yet, the people who are able to surpass these challenges of these tough times are the ones who stand out.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

You have to keep experimenting. People think that there’s a formula for being successful on social media but we don’t think there is one. A creator has to keep trying new things and listen to their audience.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Niyu: I would love to be a Marine Biologist as I love being near water. Scuba diving and seeing a whale while underwater is my biggest dream.

Abhi: In a parallel universe I would be a vocalist in a band. I have tried singing and learning musical instruments but I didn’t pursue it sincerely. Music transcends languages and it connects hearts. I would’ve loved to be a musician for sure.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

If you’re asking about a technology that doesn’t exist in the real world then definitely a time machine.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

It’s difficult to pick one because there are so many. Last year, we made a video on Eco-Friendly Ganesh Idols and it was the first video that went truly viral. One of the followers had booked an idol with paint on it, which he didn’t know consists of lead. When we informed him about this, he immediately opted for a paint-free idol. We say “Farak Padta Hai” (It makes a difference) and he truly proved it.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

  • Freedom – to live the life you want to live
  • Respect – from the people who matter to us
  • Integrity – because self-respect matters more than any other respect

Ex: What was the thought process behind this journey?

We wanted to have a voice. We wanted to focus on a solution-based approach to everyday living. We are tired of people complaining all the time about things that are wrong in India. Complaining is easy, but going one step beyond and asking “hum kya kar sakte hain” (what can we do) is hard. It needs thinking, it takes time. We wanted to show that small things can make a difference.

Go2Words | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex:  Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Go2Words:  In the last ten years, digital blogging has become a lot more personalized, focused, analytic-based, and optimized for user demography. Content is now richer to experience.

Ex:  Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Go2Words:  Social media platforms look at success based on various parameters—the quality of feed, the relevance of content, relative quality with global competition, user consumption parameters, ability to use right hashtags, consistency over a long time, and topicality of the content.

Ex:  A technology you wished you’d invented?

Go2Words:  No wishes. I am inventing something that would revolutionize how we learn the language and find meanings and context around words.

Ex:  What does success mean to you?

Go2Words:  It has two dimensions. At an external level, doing what you like and being paid for it so that you can do it more and reap rewards. At an internal level, success is having a long-term view of a purposeful life and
staying on the path of it without compromising physical, spiritual, and economic needs.

Ex:  Which people or books have had the greatest impact on your growth, and why?

Go2Words:  When I was in class VIII, I had read this marvelous book, “The power of the subconscious mind” by Joseph Murphy. This book had an immortal impact on my mind and in my life. It started lettering the
path to where I am and where I feel I am going!

Ex:  What was the thought process behind this journey?

Go2Words:  I always wanted words to be meaningful, impactful, and purposeful. As a child, I had seen many relationship issues on misfired words. Misfired words represent an ambiguous, unsure, insecure thought process—the beginning of the conflict, chaos, and pain. My life is a play with words; the technology I am building is around words—so it seems my soul knew the purpose before my training reached a scale and mission.

Ted The Stoner | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Ted The Stoner: Though the statement cannot be generalized, there is a lot of responsibility when it comes to posting anything on the internet now. There is a lot of accountability & that is definitely a good thing. On the contrary, with easy access to the internet, there is also a rise in the number of cases of cyberbullying and incessant trolling towards anybody with a different
opinion.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Ted The Stoner: I don’t think influencers have any upper hand when it comes to knowing things about anything that is open to all. The only reason an artist/influencer might have an upper hand over someone would be because they would spend more time researching something about social media since it is an important part of their lives.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Ted The Stoner: I guess I’d be a farmer with a nice little farm and a couple of animals where I can just grow my own food and not worry about the world.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Ted The Stoner: I’ll have a word with Tony Stark and get back to you.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Ted The Stoner: A mind control device that can be used on Mumbai rickshaw drivers who keep rejecting us without even listening to the proposed destination. Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter.

Ex: How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Ted The Stoner: The best way to deal with vulnerabilities as an influencer is to be honest with your audience about your vulnerability. At times, we underestimate the good in the world. The audience you build on your page is like an extended family. The best way is to let them see you for what you are, who you are instead of faking it just because it seems like a cooler option.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Ted The Stoner: Being happy and helping others be happy.

Ex: Which people or books have had the greatest impact on your growth, and why?

Ted The Stoner: People who have had the greatest impact on my life would be the life of Swami Vivekananda. A lot of good principles to learn.

Ex: What was the thought process behind this journey?

Ted The Stoner: The thought process was very simple. Making people happy and helping them in every possible way. I’m glad and I feel content because I can see that happening everyday.

Tanvi : I still remember when there was no jio internet we bloggers & YouTubers were struggling for views, hardly people used to read a blog or watch videos on the internet because the internet cost was very high but when jio came to market with low-cost internet, it changed the entire digital blogging space completely, so yeah big thanks to jio!

Ex:  Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Tanvi : The insight would be that creating content is not as easy as it looks . We spend hours in shooting a 15 second or 60 second video and most of the time it’s a one human show!

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Tanvi :  A Fashion Designer or an Actress / Singer.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Tanvi : A fan told me a while ago how my posts and my words helped her come out of her depression and step out of the house after months ! To be able to touch a life that way…makes me so grateful and emotional.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Tanvi : I deal with this by constantly being open and talking about my vulnerabilities! Social Media is in fact the best space to BE YOU. The more you open up to people about your struggles, the more you’re connectable with them .

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Tanvi : To be happy and for more people to know, understand and support my work.

Ex: What was the thought process behind this journey?

Prajakta Koli | Editor’s Choice | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Prajakta: I think the sheer magnanimity of the platform speaks for itself. When I started 5 years ago, we did not see this coming. Nobody knew the digital space would boom like this in every corner of our country. That is the biggest change I have seen. Now there are more consumers and even more creators coming on to the platform everyday.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Prajakta: Know what is the best time to post that’ll give you the most engagement. Consistency is key and content is king at the end of the day. Also, engaging with your audience makes all the difference.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Prajakta: An app that deletes your account if you baselessly spew hate at people on the internet.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Prajakta: Running into viewers at malls and airports or reading the amazing letters they write to me is by far the best thing about my job. But I remember, a viewer once came up to me at an event to talk about how she gave up on waxing her legs and accepted her body as is after listening to my song ‘SHAMELESS’. That was such an accomplishment!

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Prajakta: Seeing the people that matter to me happy.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Prajakta: Influencer marketing is definitely not a fad and is here to stay. Over the years brands have seen the connect influencers have with their audience. The brands are keen on tapping this bond and maximising visibility for their brand. So it is definitely here to stay wherein many brands are actively focussing on influencer marketing over mainstream conventional marketing techniques.

Mumbikar Nikhil | Trendsetter | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Nikhil: Changes which I have seen in the digital blogging space that there are so many opportunities have grown a lot and more and more people are coming onto this.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Nikhil: The insight which I can give you is that the Influencer who is more personal about their life has more connection with their audience.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Nikhil: I would have been either a Photographer or probably a DOP.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Nikhil: Technology I wish I could have invented the Smartphone, It’s a device on which we all rely on and I think it’s the most popular invention in the history of Mankind.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Nikhil: There are many but one is that when I was traveling from Kolkata to Visakhapatnam two boys were standing just before the toll naka and when I spoke to them, they told me they came 200km from inside a village and they just guessed it I would be passing from there because I didn’t update it anywhere. I was really shocked and felt blessed at that time.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Nikhil: Definitely grows with the popularity or I’d like to say Depends on how deep of a personal connection an influencer have with their audience through their content. When you grow, you gotta have bullies and haters. That’s proof you are growing.

Ex: Tell us something we don’t know about the influencer’s content strategy?

Nikhil: One thing people don’t know about the content strategy is that Influencing is not just about to look good, wear good clothes, It’s about talking what needs to be spoken and doing something which people find it challenging and of course you need to be calculative and futuristic what’s gonna happen in the future and accordingly make a move.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?
Namrata: Technology that I am really trying to work on is teleportation.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)
Namrata: Honestly I don’t have a favorite as every meet with anyone who knows my work, or follows my journey is extremely special. However, the first time will always hold a special place in my heart! I was at an airport and someone, who seemed really happy to see me came running up to me. She spoke to me about her journey and how my posts have inspired her to transform her life. It felt really great, knowing that I have inspired her in some way and that I am a part of her fitness journey and transformation.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Ex: What does success mean to you?
Namrata: Success is tough to define. I think in one way it is the ability to do what you love. This may sound easy but is something that could keep changing. Success is the ability to constantly adapt to that change, to keep moving, and to always be able to do what you love. And to be able to wake up every day loving what one is doing!

Ex: What does a normal working day look like for you?
Namrata: I start my day early and usually workout before my day starts. I then take 8-9 classes in the day, a study in order to gain new knowledge or learn about the latest research, work on The Pilates Studio at the backend and try to wrap work up by 7 pm.
