Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Kuljyoti: With an increasing number of creators and with greater consumption of content by the audience, the number of brands investing in Influencers have also increased. I remember how difficult it was for me to convince brands three years ago to pay me for my work but now, things have changed a lot for good.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Kuljyoti: The only thing that a good content creator knows is that every social media platform is different. I have seen Influencers committing this mistake wherein they repost the same content on every single platform thinking that will help them grow but it does not work that way.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Kuljyoti: My cellphone, my vlog camera with lots of memory cards and extra batteries and my laptop!

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Kuljyoti: I wish I could come up with an editing software wherein I would just upload the recorded content in the software and it would edit and upload the best content on every platform itself. Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter.

Ex: How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Kuljyoti: One major dark side that I encountered in the past was the continuous feeling of loneliness because you are too busy creating content that real life joy doesn’t make you happy anymore. This is why it is very important to have real relationships and real friends who can support you and guide you whenever you are going through a bad phase.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Kuljyoti: Success for me is a sound sleep at night without worries, anxiety and insecurity. I have seen people from this industry making a lot of money, having a lot of material possessions but still feeling empty inside.

Ex: Which is that one dish or cuisine that you haven’t tried yet but are looking forward to?

Kuljyoti: I think India has so many dishes that are not yet explored. It’s my dream to visit every city of India and explore their local cuisine. As far as international cuisine is concerned, I am really
intrigued by Persian cuisine.

Ex: What do you do to make your content unique from others?

Kuljyoti: My content is a reflection of myself and that’s what makes it unique.

Tanmay Singh | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Tanmay:  I’ve been in this community for the past 2 years , people here always had a curiosity of knowing what this is that I do on my PC all the time. With the Internet getting available to almost everyone in the previous years I’ve seen a lot of development here , more people have started to know me, even the ones around me now have a basic idea of what I do.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Tanmay:  I don’t think there’s any ‘secret’ that only the influencers know, we are just like the normal crowd, what they know is what we know.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Tanmay:  I’ve always wanted to be a professional football player , so I think it would be that.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Tanmay:  An internet connection, my smartphone and a laptop maybe.

Ex:  A technology you wished you’d invented?

Tanmay:  Video Games , they are the ones that fascinate me a lot.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Tanmay:  I’ve had a fan who wrote a song and a rap for me , it was the best encounter I would say.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Tanmay:  Yup, surely this increases as the popularity goes up but as i said , believe in yourself , the others dont know what you have gone through to come up at a stage like this , you know you gave your 100% so you stick to it no matter what the haters/trollers say , we have 100 times more supporters and these haters/trollers.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Tanmay:  When I am happy about what I am doing.

Ex: Which three things does someone starting in the gaming industry need to know?

Tanmay: It might look easy , but you need to know that thousands are already fighting for what you dream to have. You need to develop an extraordinary skill in either Professional or Content making.

Ex: What would you say is the biggest challenge for a gaming influencer?

Tanmay:  The people here in India never consider this as a career , though it has developed in these previous 2-3 years but still they need to know it is just like another JOB.

Sarah Hussain | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Sarah: I started 4 years ago, where the space of digital marketing was not so solid, and Instagram/YouTube bloggers were just treated with freebies and free lunches. However, no people like me are making it a career choice, people have started recognizing it, brands want their products to be endorsed by bloggers, and it works as a regular creative business.

Ex:  Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Sarah: I feel social media is one place for expression which gives every creator its chance to express their creativity. If you’re good at something the app can make you a star, you don’t need to be super rich or an influential person, social media recognizes talent faster than any other platform.

Ex:  A technology you wished you’d invented?

Sarah: To make all my videos viral.

Ex:  What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Sarah: There have been many really, but once a man msged me that he named her daughter Sarah, because he wants her to become like me, I was really touched by it.

Ex:  What does success mean to you?

Sarah: Success is never a target, for me success is waking up everyday, making content, making my followers happy and having a good night’s sleep. It’s constant. I believe hard work is the way to success.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Sarah: I don’t think social media is going anywhere, it’s a super growing field. I see this field getting more popular than movies in the years to come.

Ex: Which is that one dish or cuisine that you haven’t tried yet but are looking forward to?

Sarah: I really want to try authentic Spanish and Andhra Food.

Ex:  What do you do to make your content unique from others?

Sarah: Originality and just sheer love for what I do.
