Meghna Kaur | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Meghna: There are new trends coming in everyday, but you just have to be yourself and do what you’ve been doing since day 1, don’t change your authenticity because that’s what people admire you for.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Meghna:  It won’t be an insight anymore if I give it away, right?

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Meghna:  I love what I do, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Meghna:  Phone, laptop, Camera

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Meghna:  nothing as such but I wish teleporting was an option.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Meghna:  I remember my very first fan encounter, this girl came up to me and went “OMG I love you so much, I’m shivering” I was like “OMG same”

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Meghna:  Most of the time I get criticised for not being good at things but I don’t deny it, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I do it anyway cause it makes me happy and I want to explore myself. Honestly, it doesn’t matter if 10 people tell you you’re not good at it, there’ll be one person who will like it and you can contribute to their happiness.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Meghna:  There’s this song lyrics by Kanye west that says

“there will always be haters, that’s the way it is” so just move on, don’t give them a lot of attention cause in the end it’s what makes you happy.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Meghna:  Success means not knowing what day of the week it is.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Meghna:  I feel if one platform goes another comes along and the amount of people who are coming in and trying new/different types of content are insane.

Influencer marketing is growing tremendously fast and will continue to do so.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Meghna:  I really really want to go to Maldives.

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Meghna: I’m really terrible with directions so solo travel becomes difficult for me and it can be a problem if you want to get photos taken when you’re on your own

Kamiya Jain | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Kamiya: I started my journey in the digital space almost 4 years ago and I have to admit that the rules of the game change everyday. Most influencers associate digital with social media but the ban of TikTok is a big example of how we should not rely on social media alone.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Kamiya: Position yourself as an expert in one specific area that you are truly passionate about. DON’T BE – Jack of all, master of none.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Kamiya: I was and would probably go back to being a Journalist/News Anchor.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Kamiya: I will need just one gadget – my mobile phone. He is a smart boy and can fill in for every other gadget that’s missing. But if you insist on three, carrying my laptop and airpods won’t hurt.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Kamiya: It’s very nice to receive sweet DMs from the online community. But there was one that had me in splits. It said, “Dear Kamiya, Tumhara intezaar karu ya dusri ka intezam karu. Aj tum decide karlo” – (his name) I reshared by stating, “Karle bhai karle, Quarantine tak toh koi chance nahi

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Kamiya: There is this dialogue in the film Guru, “Jab log tumhare khilaaf bolne lage, samjh lo tarakki kar rahe ho” So here’s how popular influencers should feel.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Kamiya: I would like to say, ‘Success means happiness’ but honestly, it’s just a quote in this practical world. Every time I have set a target for myself benchmarking it as success, the bar only got higher once I got there.

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Kamiya: While travelling solo, sometimes you may find yourself at a place that’s not 100% safe, that’s when you miss having someone around. Although I am a very safe traveller and don’t experiment if I am doubtful of an area. Other than that, I don’t miss anything or anyone. I quite enjoy my own company.

Manu Khandelwal | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Manu: When I started blogging back in 2014, there were lesser bloggers and fewer blogging communities. In recent times, social media has played a good role in maintaining the reach. Apart from being consistent and having good content, one needs to have a good follower base as well.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Manu: Making posts on trending topics, creating posts that have a probability of going viral, and posts that contain any unique information which is not available anywhere else, also work effectively.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Manu: Camera, as I love photography, a sports watch as it is a perfect and useful gadget to accompany any travel plan and, of course, a First Aid Kit.

A technology you wished you’d invented?

Manu: I always thought of making a device through which one can easily call or message someone without any network.

Ex: What’s been your favourite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Manu: I usually get an appreciation for my blogs and photos. My favorite one so far is when a woman got inspired by one of my trek blogs. She contacted me on Instagram to appreciate me and she got so inspired that she took her first solo trip after getting motivated from my blogs

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Manu: Everything in this world has its pros and cons and so has Social Media. I always try to play safely in most of the scenarios. I use social media for the purpose it is meant to be, viz, to connect with the world and share my travel insights.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Manu: No, I believe the popularity of any influencer doesn’t have anything to do with the increase in trolling. For me, the best way to tackle these situations is by ignoring them.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Manu:For me, it means doing something that makes me happy, something that I am passionate about and something that I enjoy doing all day.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Manu: I would probably be going on Gaumukh Tapovan Trek in Uttarakhand, which is an excellent high altitude trek and known for its magnificent views of snowclad Himalayan peaks and massive Gaumukh glacier (Source of river Ganges).

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Manu: If something goes wrong or any unfortunate thing happens, there should be someone along with you so that you feel confident at that moment. Facing that situation alone makes solo traveling a bit scary. Apart from this, solo traveling is sometimes more expensive than group travel, as you cannot share things, be it a room or a taxi.

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Ashi: If I have to name just one, I’d say that people on the digital platform have become a lot smarter than they were earlier. They know what content is actually good and what is not.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Ashi: CRITICISM. I always quote this whenever I am asked this question. It gets hard at times to get through it, but once you do it,there’s no stopping you.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Ashi: I think I’d be at a post somewhere related to Journalism as I am a graduate in the same field. If not that, I think I’d probably be in the teaching field.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Ashi: My phone, My camera and a power bank.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented

Ashi: Cliché, but I think the cell phone!

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Ashi: I never miss a chance to connect to my audience and engage with them in whichever way possible. I think the sweetest thing was when someone from Agra travelled all the way to Delhi to meet my friends and I when we had kept a casual meeting in 2018.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Ashi: I think you will get used to it. If you give in, you give in. Nothing can help you. But the moment you decide you are stronger than all this, there’s no stopping. That’s what I did.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Ashi: If you have the power to make yourself and the people around you happy, you are successful.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Ashi: I think the social media game is here to stay. At least for the next 10 years I don’t see anything surpassing it. Its very powerful and engaging.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Ashi: DEFINITELY LONDON! It has been on my bucket list for a long time now. I think it’s time to tick it off.

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Ashi: I’d surely tell you if I ever go on one!

Bruised Passports | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Bruised Passports: The digital space is a lot busier now. Back when we started there were only a handful of content creators, pursuing their passions and sharing them with the world.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Bruised Passports: I think Savi would be in academics – she loves literature and the visual arts. I would definitely own a small café because I’m passionate about coffee and the science behind it.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Bruised Passports: My phone because it has all our favorite music, my camera to capture some (hopefully) unique memories of the experience, and my portable coffee maker … because priorities!

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Bruised Passports: Time Travel! We’re currently watching Dark on Netflix, so definitely time travel!

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Bruised Passports: We prefer the term ‘readers’ because it feels like one large digital family to us! I would say it would have to be in Guayaquil in Ecuador – we met a really sweet Bruised Passports reader in the hotel elevator. Meeting a reader in such a remote place was so special and we ended up spending the evening together. Truly memorable.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Bruised Passports: As you said, the dark side of social media is inevitable if you choose to share your life on a public platform. There is a line between constructive criticism and trolling that is easy to spot. And the latter is what is dangerous! In the beginning, trolls would heckle us. But the truth is it’s impossible to please everyone. Gradually we realized the mean or hateful comments are often a projection of people’s own insecurities. And learned to ignore them.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Bruised Passports: We know the concept of ‘hustle’ is very popular these days. But success for us means something completely different – it means being able to live life completely on our own terms and prioritizing happiness and contentment in life.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Bruised Passports: Not at all. In fact, we think Influencer Marketing is the strongest marketing tool of the future and it will get much bigger in the years to come. However, it will become a lot more nuanced in the years to come.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Bruised Passports: Russia and Cuba have been on our wishlist forever. Once travel restrictions ease, we would love to visit those countries. But before that, we’ll spend some time exploring India – we are chalking out plans to visit Meghalaya and Gujarat later this year.

Barkha Singh | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Barkha: The biggest change that I have seen is the increased demand for value out of content. If content does not have some form of value, it is outright rejected. This was not the case when I started off, it was relatively experimental then.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Barkha: Analytics and trends on each platform are important to optimise your content. However, the one thing that I have realized over time, is that if your content is not a reflection and/or exaggeration of your true self, then it is not relatable to your audience.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Barkha:  I think my love for animals is well documented. So naturally, I’d be a Forest Ranger or a Wildlife photographer.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

My mobile phone, a solar-powered charger and I’d love to keep a reel camera, so I can document my days.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Barkha:  Time travel.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Barkha:  It feels equally special every single time someone comes up to tell me how I made them smile or feel happy. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Barkha: To begin with, I appreciate constructive criticism, but when it’s not constructive, I have trained myself to not get affected by negativity too much.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Barkha: To me success is that sweet spot when you are what you love, you’re doing it well (by your own and others’ standards) and you are truly happy within.

Ex: Do you think Influencer Marketing is a fad? Where do you see this space in years to come?

Barkha:  Content and marketing has always been synonymous with each other. Right from radio, to new-age media; Content has been used as a means to market to viewers. As long as content is consumed regularly, I don’t think this is a fad. In fact, I think we’re just getting started!

Ex: What are the difficulties that you face when you’re on a solo trip?

Barkha:  I honestly LOVE travelling alone. In fact I have been travelling alone since 2013, before I even imagined that this could be my work! Solo travelling is responsible for my love for discovering new places, meeting new people and experiencing new things. But yes, creating content is super tough when travelling alone. I know “can you please take my photo” in 23 different languages.

Take the Smart route with JK Tyre!

Have you considered a future without smart technology? It is impossible to do so. In fact, your future version will be a lot smarter than you and probably be using much more advanced technology than any of us right now. How many times have you been stuck in the middle of a long drive when your tyre just went flat? Haven’t we all faced the frustration of having a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere? Well, JK tyre, one of the leading manufacturers of tyres in India, came up with a solution that assists us in the maintenance of tyres and increases their life span as a result.

The Smart Tyre technology from JK Tyre provides the driver with real-time information such as the pressure and temperature inside a tyre, the behaviour etc, at their disposal anytime, anywhere, on their smartphones. The company launched TREEL sensors, a smart-tyre technology claimed to be the first-ever in India, at the Auto-Expo that was held in Delhi, this year. The ‘Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)’ is an electronic system designed to monitor the air pressure inside the pneumatic tyres on various types of vehicles.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director said, “JK Tyre has always been at the forefront of innovation and technology. Being the market leaders in the Indian tyre industry, we have once again lived up to our leadership role by delivering ‘Smart Tyre’ – an extension to our promise of providing advanced mobility solutions to our customers. This technology provides an enhanced value proposition to vehicle owners, particularly fleets, by reducing their operational costs. Along with this, we have also showcased our new range of concept tyres here at the Auto Expo we have a roadmap laid in front of us, as we plan to move ahead with a number of new products including some breakthrough innovations this year.”

Almost 75% of tyres on Indian roads are not inflated to the required extent, eventually resulting in accidents, accelerated tyre wear, tyre bursts and low mileage. Smart Tyre technology tells the driver about the health of the tyres and enhances the safety and performance of your personal vehicles. The information is collected by the monitoring system connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. It can be accessed via a mobile application named TREEL CARE or on the web page. It helps in the detection of the problem and allows the user to rectify it in time. The app is user-friendly and can store data of up to 10 cars or even bikes.

The valves that come along with the sensors are fitted in the rim of each tyre. The app eventually shows the pressure in each tyre. It also flashes when the tyre pressure is really low. The Smart Tyre technology also aids in reducing the carbon emission by delivering a higher fuel efficiency up to 4-5%. Along with this, it’ll also help in reducing maintenance costs, and give a better diagnosis of the engine.

The Smart Tyre technology is compatible with cars, bikes and trucks/buses. It is available in three variants for cars- Smart Tyre Sensor Car Kit: Valve, MTrac Smart Sensor Car & Truck Kit: Valve and MPower Smart Sensor Car Kit: Valve. Similarly, it is available in two variants for bikes- Smart Tyre Sensor Bike Kit: Belt and MTrac Smart Sensor Bike Kit: Belt. An advanced set of these sensors is accompanied by a connecting rod, which tracks vehicle engine health, real-time speed, fuel levels and the live location of the vehicle. Every car kit includes 5 sensors and every bike kit includes 2 sensors.

TREEL Sensors are currently commercially available at more than 700 dealerships across India and JK Tyre plans to sell the technology online via an exclusive e-commerce sales channel to end customers. Buying a car with real-time monitoring systems isn’t expensive anymore. You can easily install the smart tyres on any vehicle at a very affordable price!

Larissa D’Sa | Travel | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Larissa: When I started posting content on social media, I was 19. Facebook was a much popular platform, and I’d just started posting on Instagram. I’d say a lot has changed in the blogging space, for the best. From posting photos of things you’re passionate about, to getting paid for doing what you love, it’s been a boon to the creative minds.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Larissa:  Social media doesn’t belong to the weak-hearted. With all the fun and frolic, comes great responsibility. As rosy as it looks, creating content also involves days and weeks on planning. Most of us are usually multifaceted by conceptualising, directing, shooting, and editing our content in-house. That’s also the beauty of social media – it’s made me self-reliant, and I’ve learnt and picked different skills to be my own production house.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Larissa:  I don’t deal with it. I ignore as much as  I can, and simply block away. Although, sometimes it’s also important to call out haters and trollers, because I also feel it’s my responsibility to clear the trash out from the internet .

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Larissa:  Like I said, with all the fame, comes great responsibility. I personally feel it’s wise to be careful with your statements and words you use. For that, one needs to be aware of all that’s happening around us, and also be sensitive towards various causes.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Larissa:  Completing my to-do list, and sleeping with the satisfaction of spending an ideal day – means success, at least to me. Success can be very subjective, so with that being said, I personally believe that successful days, one after the day, leads to a successful life.

Ex: The first destination you want to travel to post-pandemic & why?

Larissa: I would love to travel abroad, but given the situation, I guess it would be wise to move around in India, and maybe I’m all set to do a trek in the mountains.
