How Big is American Tourister?

The journey begins with the familiar click of a suitcase handle, a sound that echoes through airports and train stations worldwide. And when it comes to that trusty travel companion, few names are as recognisable as American Tourister. From the bustling streets of New York City to the tranquil beaches of Goa, American Tourister has become a beloved brand for adventurers and jet-setters alike.

American Tourister is a brand that has been around for nearly 90 years, offering high-quality luggage and travel accessories to people around the world. The company has a rich history, having experienced many ups and downs over the years. Let’s take a closer look at the journey of American Tourister, from its foundation to the current state of the market.

Early Days

Sol and Irving Koffler founded American Tourister in 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island. They saw a need for affordable yet durable luggage that could withstand the rigours of travel, and they set out to create a product that would meet those needs. They began by designing a lightweight, sturdy suitcase made of reinforced twill that featured a distinctive two-tone design. The suitcase quickly became popular with travellers, and American Tourister became one of the most preferred brands.

In the following years, American Tourister continued to innovate, introducing new materials and designs to keep up with the changing needs of travellers. In the 1950s, the company introduced a new line of luggage made of lightweight fibreglass, which was both durable and stylish. The luggage line became extremely popular, and American Tourister soon became one of the most recognised luggage brands in the world for its quality and durability.

The Success Story

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, American Tourister continued to expand its product line, introducing new styles and designs to appeal to a broader range of customers. The company also began to focus on international markets, opening offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide.

In the 1980s, American Tourister underwent a significant transformation as the Samsonite Corporation acquired it. This acquisition allowed American Tourister to benefit from Samsonite’s global reach and resources, and the two companies began to work together to develop new products and expand into new markets.

Later, American Tourister continued to grow and innovate in the coming years, introducing new products such as rolling luggage, duffel bags, and backpacks. The company also began to focus more on the needs of business travellers, developing a range of laptop bags and other accessories designed specifically for this market.

Beating the Competition

American Tourister is a global luggage brand that has established a reputation for quality, durability, and innovation. With a strong presence in the market, American Tourister faces stiff competition from other leading brands in the luggage industry. However, the brand has been able to stand out from its competitors by implementing a range of strategies that have helped it to beat the competition.

One of the key strategies used by American Tourister is innovation. The brand invests heavily in research and development to create more durable, stylish, and user-friendly products than its competitors. American Tourister’s focus on innovation has resulted in the development of features such as lightweight materials, expandable compartments, and TSA locks, which have set the brand apart from its competitors.

Another strategy used by the company is its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The brand has implemented many initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, such as using recycled materials in its products and reducing its carbon footprint. This commitment to sustainability has resonated with consumers who value eco-friendly brands and helped American Tourister stand out from its competitors.

Current Market

American Tourister is a well-known luggage brand globally, providing a wide range of products to cater to all kinds of travellers. The company consistently innovates with new materials and designs to meet its customers’ changing needs. However, in recent years, several other luggage brands have emerged, offering similar products at competitive prices, making the market fiercely competitive. To remain competitive, American Tourister focuses on innovation and quality, invests heavily in marketing, and has a strong brand identity. Despite these challenges, American Tourister continues to be a significant player in the industry and is committed to providing high-quality products to travellers worldwide.

Valuation

As a subsidiary of the larger Samsonite Corporation, American Tourister’s valuation is tied to the overall performance of the Samsonite brand. In 2022, Samsonite’s market capitalisation was valued at approximately $4.39 billion, with American Tourister representing a significant portion of the company’s revenue.

The Realme 11 Pro series has officially stormed into the Indian market today, creating waves with its formidable duo: Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro Plus. These two powerhouses share striking similarities in design and specifications, but don’t be fooled—subtle distinctions exist, particularly in their primary camera and battery charging capabilities.

Realme 11 Pro Plus

Now, prepare to be captivated by the true marvel of the Realme 11 Pro Plus: its 200 MP primary camera. This extraordinary feature boasts an awe-inspiring 4x “lossless” in-sensor zoom, a result of Realme’s expertise in optical image stabilization and ingenious software enhancements. The Realme 11 Pro Plus dares to dream, allowing you to capture detailed photos of the moon and even produce stunning 2x portraits.

Adding to its allure, Realme has collaborated with the prestigious Lonely Planet to introduce exclusive filters, enriching the phone’s street photography mode 4.0. The Realme 11 Pro Plus’s charging capabilities genuinely steal the show as it boasts 100W fast charging support and charges from 0 to 100 percent in a mere 26 minutes, setting a new standard for expediency.

Realme 11 Pro

Meanwhile, the Realme 11 Pro modestly presents a commendable 100MP shooter, though not quite as dazzling as its Plus counterpart. The Realme 11 Pro maintains an impressive 67W charging speed, albeit falling short of its Plus sibling’s lightning-fast performance. Both devices feature an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 2 MP macro camera on their backs, while the 11 Pro Plus outshines its sibling with a 32 MP selfie camera, while the 11 Pro opts for a still respectable 16 MP front shooter.

Design of the Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro Plus

The smartphone duo is available in three captivating colours: Sunrise Beige, Oasis Green, and Astral Black. The Sunrise Beige variant emerges as the ultimate embodiment of elegance, featuring a luxurious lychee leather back adorned with a graceful lace-like strip that gracefully envelops the camera module, continuing seamlessly to the phone’s base.

Display

The Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro Plus flaunt a dazzling 6.7-inch curved AMOLED 120Hz display, illuminating your world with up to 800nits of brightness and providing HDR10+ content playback support. The 10-bit panel is certified by TÜV Rheinland, guaranteeing flicker-free performance and minimizing blue light emissions.

Additionally, the phones offer 2160Hz PWM dimming for your visual comfort. Biometric security is at your fingertips with the in-display fingerprint reader, while glass protection remains unspecified. Under the hood, Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro Plus harness the incredible power of MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050, a rebranded version of the formidable Dimensity 1080 in the Realme 10 Pro series.

Accompanying this processing prowess is an impressive memory configuration of up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, expandable to meet your growing needs. The phones operate on the dynamic Realme UI 4.0, based on the cutting-edge Android 13. Fueling this remarkable package is a robust 5,000mAh battery, ensuring prolonged usage without compromise.

Samsung’s Homecoming – Galaxy Unpacked Event in Seoul, Showcasing Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5

Samsung made a resolute announcement, declaring that its next Unpacked event will be held in Seoul, South Korea, marking a significant shift from its previous global city venues. While the exact date remains undisclosed, the event is confirmed to take place in July, setting the stage for an anticipated unveiling of the long-rumoured Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Unpacked has always served as Samsung’s premier showcase, unveiling groundbreaking smartphones and cutting-edge technology. However, this year, the company has chosen to return to its roots, bringing the event to its home country of South Korea for the very first time.

Despite Samsung’s intentional secrecy surrounding the upcoming event, it is widely speculated that the company will introduce two remarkable foldable devices: the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, alongside the highly anticipated Galaxy Watch 6 lineup. Building upon the success of their predecessors, the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, these new offerings are expected to feature incremental hardware improvements.

Notably, rumours suggest that the compact Flip 5 may undergo a captivating redesign. To power these foldable marvels, Snapdragon’s cutting-edge 8th Generation 2 System-on-a-Chip (SoC) is rumoured to be employed. Furthermore, industry insiders anticipate the official introduction of the Galaxy Tab S9 series, comprising the base Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Tab S9+, and the top-tier Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

Samsung has consistently led the charge in the realm of foldable smartphones, releasing innovative devices annually, albeit exclusively in the premium market segment. The International Data Corporation (IDC) projects a robust global shipment of 21.4 million foldable phones, encompassing both flip and fold form factors, by the year 2023. However, Samsung now faces formidable competition from Chinese smartphone brands, with OnePlus poised to unveil its groundbreaking foldable flagship soon.

Samsung Galaxy F54 (Review) – Affordable Luxury With Stellar Features

When it comes to keeping up with the strike rate, only Samsung can beat Suryakumar Yadav. The brand is known for launching a new smartphone almost every week (on average), and today, the South Korean smartphone mogul launched a new smartphone in their F-Series smartphones, the Galaxy F54.

The newly launched device is branded as revolutionary as it sports a 16.95 cm sAMOLED+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, triple rear camera with 108 MP primary lens and 32 MP front camera, and 6000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging. On paper, the Galaxy F54 looks promising, but is it worth spending your hard-earned money on it?

Design and Display

Design-wise, the Galaxy F54 has nothing new to offer; even a mere glimpse of it and you will recognise it’s a Samsung device. On the front, it sports a punch-hole camera design with a 6.7-inch sAMOLED+ display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. While on the rear, the Galaxy F54 has a triple camera setup with a polycarbonate back.

The Galaxy F54 features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the right side, along with volume up and down keys. The fingerprint sensor of the smartphone is quite outdated and works 7 out of 10 times. The device has a SIM tray on the left side, a speaker on the lower side and a microphone on the top.

In terms of display, the Galaxy F54 has one of the best displays I’ve ever come across in the mid-range segment of smartphones. If you’re someone who prefers binge-watching shows, movies or anything else for that matter, then Galaxy F54 is a perfect companion for you. It consumes less power and provides a more vivid picture quality.

Camera

The triple camera setup of the Galaxy F54 is backed by a “segment-leading” 108-MP camera with OIS, an 8-MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2-MP macro cam. While on the front, it sports a 32-MP selfie camera in a punch-hole design. The cameras of the Galaxy F54 offer features like Nightography, Astrolapse, Single Take, and Fun Mode.

The images clicked by the 108-MP primary camera show punchy colours that might not suit everyone’s taste and will take a little time to make you fall for it. The same applies to the selfie camera, too, but when it comes to video output, it offers brilliant footage with extra stabilisation; of course, you’ll have to record at 1080/30p for better results.

Processor

The Galaxy F54 is powered by an Exynos 1380 chipset with Android 13 and One UI 5.1, which means it will eventually receive upgrades up to Android 17 and making it the first F-branded device to receive Samsung’s four-year OS upgrade policy. The device sports a power-hungry display, and that’s the reason it gets hot often.

However, you don’t have to worry about it much as it is backed by a healthy 8GB of RAM/256GB Storage and lets you move through the day-to-day tasks freely. The Exynos 1380 chipset can handle graphics-intensive gaming and fluctuation of 4G to 5G and vice versa with an occasional stutter. So you can be worry-free about gaming and network issues.

Battery

The Galaxy F54 device is loaded with a magnificent 6000 mAh battery that easily helps you to survive two days, and when used extensively, it can run over 24 hours. The phone supports fast charging with a 25W wired charger (sold separately, of course) and takes about 70 minutes to charge fully.

Availability

The F-branded Samsung smartphones are mostly exclusive to India, where they go on sale through retail partner Flipkart. The smartphone is available for sale, and you can Pre-reserve it at ₹ 999* from 3-PM afterwards. The smartphone is priced at 29,999* for the 8GB/256GB variant and is available in two colours – Meteor Blue and Stardust Silver.

Verdict

The Galaxy F54 shines with a delightful blend of affordability and high-end allure, but it seems like an upgraded version of the Galaxy A54 (launched on March 23). Yet, in the age-old dance of commerce, one must remember the undeniable truth: the bounty reaped shall match the coins sown. So, if you’re looking for a device with a great display, battery backup, and camera sensors, then Galaxy F54 is the one for you.

The Rise of Solo Travel – How Technology is Empowering Solo Travellers

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, gather ’round and listen up! In this one, we are going to talk about the rise of solo travel and how technology is empowering solo travellers to embark on epic adventures all by their lonesome selves.

Now, let’s start with a little history lesson. In the olden days, solo travel was considered a death sentence. People believed that if you travelled alone, you were either a madman or a fool. It was also considered a sign of weakness, as travelling solo meant you had no one to depend on but yourself.

However, as time passed, things changed, and people began to realise that solo travel wasn’t a death sentence. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Solo travel allowed people to explore the world on their terms, without having to worry about anyone else’s schedule or preferences. And that’s where technology comes in.

With the rise of smartphones, social media, and other digital platforms, solo travel has become easier and more accessible than ever before. Now, solo travellers can use apps like Google Maps, Airbnb, and Couchsurfing to find their way around a new city, book affordable accommodations, and connect with locals and other travellers.

In fact, technology has made it possible for solo travellers to connect with people all over the world, even before they embark on their trip. With social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, solo travellers can find travel groups and communities where they can connect with like-minded individuals and share their travel experiences, but that’s not all.

Technology has also made solo travel safer than ever before. With apps like TripIt, solo travellers can keep all their travel details in one place, including flight information, hotel reservations, and even restaurant recommendations. And with safety apps like Sitata and TravelSafe, solo travellers can stay up-to-date on any travel alerts or safety concerns in the places they plan to visit.

Of course, there are still risks involved in solo travel, but with the help of technology, those risks can be minimised. Solo travellers can use GPS trackers, portable chargers, and other gadgets to stay connected and safe, no matter where they are.

So, there you have it, folks. With the help of apps, social media platforms, and other digital tools, solo travel has become easier, safer, and more accessible than ever before. So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags, grab your phone, and hit the road!

First Look – Exploring the Power of Nikon Z8

Finally, Nikon Z8: A camera that’s been a long time coming, igniting the imaginations of passionate photographers worldwide. For those enchanted by the allure of gear-talk, the question lingers: Should this marvel have graced us with its presence years ago? Yet, there exists a tribe of photographers untouched by the grip of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS), patiently awaiting the arrival of the Nikon Z8, their holy grail.

Nikon reveals that it is a compact rendition of their illustrious, multi-award-winning Z9 camera, aptly named the “Baby Z9.” While the opinions of these loyal enthusiasts hold immense significance for the Nikon Z8’s triumph, detractors from rival brands will inevitably emerge, casting their shadows upon its path. The mirrorless Baby Z9 camera is out for sale and is now available for pre-order.

First Impressions

Complicated emotions stir within the heart of the beholder contemplating the Nikon Z8, for it is a camera that evokes both elation and reservation. The compact marvel encompasses the vast capabilities of its larger sibling, the Nikon Z9. Finally, Nikon unveils a contender to rival the Sony Alpha 1 and the Canon EOS R5 with earnest intent. However, in the grand tapestry of the photography market, this offering fails to exude an aura of exceptionalism.

Some might argue that this camera is, in essence, already over a year old. Furthermore, it finds itself challenged by a three-year-old counterpart and another born merely two years prior. Nonetheless, Nikon endeavours to traverse uncharted realms by boldly eliminating the mechanical shutter, a feat previously observed solely within the domain of Sigma, a brand whose cameras elicit limited regard.

Build Quality

Breaking Boundaries with ChatGPT

When my colleague told me about ChatGPT, I kinda ignored it at first. However, within two weeks, the term went viral and turned out to be a day savour for some, especially for corporate people, content creators, and of course, writers. The AI language model allows you to have human-like conversations and can assist you with last-minute tasks such as composing emails, essays, articles, codes or whatever you could ask for.

Over the last couple of years, artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly evolved, and natural language processing has emerged as a crucial aspect of AI. Chatbots have become an essential tool for businesses to communicate with their customers, and OpenAI-backed ChatGPT has played an indispensable role in transforming the way people interact with machines. Let’s understand the role of ChatGPT along with its pros and cons.

Role of ChatGPT in Various Industries:

ChatGPT is a language model that can generate human-like responses to any input. The pre-trained platform is not programmed and works completely on a large corpus of text with a pinpoint set of responses, making it capable of understanding the context of any conversation and generating proper responses. Let’s look at the top 3 industries where ChatGPT is making a significant contribution.

Customer Service:

ChatGPT can become an essential part of customer service for many companies due to its ability to provide 24/7 support and handle large volumes of customer inquiries along with complaints. The AI platform can provide instant responses, resolves simple issues, and escalates more complex problems to human agents.

E-commerce:

ChatGPT can help e-commerce companies increase their sales by providing personalised recommendations to customers. By analysing customer behaviour, the platform offers suggestions for products and services that are likely to be of interest to them. It helps customers to have a great buying experience by answering questions about products and providing support after a purchase.

Healthcare:

ChatGPT can also make its way into the healthcare industry, where it can provide support to patients by answering their questions about medical conditions, medication, and treatments. The platform can also help healthcare professionals by providing up-to-date information on medical research and treatment options.

Pros of ChatGPT:

Efficiency:

ChatGPT is capable of handling multiple conversations simultaneously, which makes it efficient in handling customer queries. It can respond to customer queries 24/7 without any breaks, ensuring customers receive help when needed.

Personalisation:

ChatGPT can provide personalised assistance to customers based on their specific needs. It can analyse previous conversations and understand the context to provide relevant responses.

Scalability:

ChatGPT can be scaled to handle a large number of conversations without any additional resources. It is an excellent tool for businesses that are growing rapidly and need to provide customer support to a large customer base.

Cons of ChatGPT:

Lack of empathy:

ChatGPT does not have emotions, which means it cannot understand the emotional state of a customer. This lack of empathy can sometimes result in inappropriate responses, leading to customer dissatisfaction.

Language limitations:

ChatGPT is only as good as the data it has been trained on. If it has not been trained in a particular language or dialect, it may struggle to understand and generate responses in that language.

Lack of creativity:

ChatGPT can provide inaccurate responses as it generates responses based on the data it has been trained on, which means it may not be able to provide creative solutions to complex problems.
