Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Siddhi: I started with Fashion, to then getting extensively in Travel and now I cannot stop obsessing over Interior Styling. So it’s always a space for self-exploration and if used rightly, there is so much one can discover about themselves than just uploading a pretty feed.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Siddhi: It’s safe to say that I don’t think the audiences know what goes behind one single post they casually scroll through in seconds.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Siddhi: In a parallel universe, I wanted to be a Diplomat.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Siddhi: iPod and earphones.

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Siddhi Karwa: I would say coffee machines.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Siddhi: The cutest one I think was a girl I met at a club who was there with her friends and she couldn’t stop jumping in excitement for about 30 min and kept screaming my name in the entire club, her friends had to calm her down.

Ex: Social media trolling is seeing an upward rise. Do you think this only increases with the popularity of an Influencer? How does one tackle this situation?

Siddhi: It’s a given that criticism only increases with fame, basically more people exposed to your content, more opinions are thrown at you. Trolling is the worst con of being in this field and it’s only increasing because more people have access to social media every day.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Siddhi: Success for me is Balance between fulfilling your dreams while living a life nothing short of dreams.

Siddhi: I think everything is a fad, nothing lasts forever and I think that’s just how the universe works.

Ex: How do you choose the brands that you want to work with?

Siddhi: For me, they first have to fit my area of expertise or interest for me to talk about it. There is nothing worse than promoting a product you have been tone-deaf about.

Ex: What according to you will be the next big trend in the Lifestyle blogging industry?

Siddhi: I really can’t keep up with trends anymore, I want to dig into the archives. I think going back to classics could be/should be a trend.

Dixita Patel | Top 100 | Influncex’20

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Dixita: In 2015, digital blogging was way different. Most of the readers, viewers were drawn towards photographs (static images) and stories. Nowadays people are more interested in videos, they are coming out of their comfort zone, creating different styles, comfort zones, experimenting a lot in terms of style, trends and colors.

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?

Dixita: Each social media platform has a different set of audience & they engage in a  varied manner. For any social media platform, an influencer needs to experiment with the content and sometimes they do work out for them and staying connected with their audience helps us to grow.

Ex: What would be your calling in a parallel universe? (Alternate career options)

Dixita: I am a Civil Engineer. If not an influencer, I would have taken projects in my field.

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?

Dixita: Phone, compass, knife

Ex: A technology you wished you’d invented?

Dixita: I wish to invent software that will automatically detect fake news and scan for the source of information and delete it from an online platform.

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)

Dixita: So on my social accounts, I share tips to pose with your friends or sister. While I was shopping at infinity Malad – one of the girls who followed me came up to me and said she would like to do the same pose with me and that was an amazing feeling.

Ex: Social Media is known to expose vulnerabilities, with influencers being at the epicenter. How do you deal with the dark side that comes with the medium?

Dixita: When I started in 2015, a lot of negative sentences/comments were on my profile which was specifically related to my body shape like you don’t have a perfect body, style and someone even told me your clothes don’t look expensive. I took it in a positive way that when somebody says you don’t have a perfect style, I have a style that is different from their dictionary-style and that encouraged me to create my own way of styling and that helped me develop my own sense of fashion.

Ex: What does success mean to you?

Dixita: Success to me is doing things that I love every day. This may sound simple, but what I love changes over time and having the ability to change what I’m doing to match my passion is true success.

Spin for the win! Acer Spin 5 reviewed

I have always been a fan of convertibles. Be it cars or gadgets, anything that has a 2-in-1 quality always catches my attention. Among those is the Acer Spin 5 laptop, which I recently reviewed. Now, I wouldn’t be talking about this laptop if it was just a run-of-the-mill laptop. But, there are certain elements of this laptop that I could not miss out on. So, without further ado, here is what I think about the Acer Spin 5.

First Impressions:

The highlight of the laptop is obviously its 360-degree hinge that converts the laptop to a tablet seamlessly. This gives the user a great deal of versatility and that will definitely help graphic designers, students, and even tablet lovers!  It also comes with an inbuilt stylus that further increases the usability of the laptop.

Display and screen:

Talking about the screen, it gets a 13.5-inch touchscreen display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, which can be a little discouraging for someone who likes a widespread screen, but it is not too dissuasive. Unfortunately, its wide aspect ratio meant every time I tried to watch a 16:9 video, it was accompanied by two giant black bars at the top and bottom, which were rather intrusive. This was the only dissuasion in the otherwise crystal clear video experience.

Stylus:

Its stylus too does not actually feel like a pen and feels more like a long and thick needle. That it would, considering it is not even five inches long (12.53 cm, to be exact) and is only 5.3 mm in diameter, but it does the job. It uses the Wacom AES 1.0 technology, which gives it an accurate response rate. Add to it 4,096 pressure levels and you can easily get surgical precision from the stylus. It can be easy to forget that the stylus can run out of charge too, but Acer has an easy fix for that. Just plug it back in the laptop for 15 or 20 seconds and its ultra-fast charging will juice up the battery for 90 minutes worth of charge in that duration. The only discomfort is that you have to lift the laptop to toggle it out of the charging unit, and it’s the same place where it will be resting all the time. Unlike the earlier version of Spin 5 which was loosely attached.

Keyboard:

Well, though the stylus and the touchscreen are sufficient and tempting enough to forget about the keyboard, it is required to complete the feel of a laptop. The chicklet keys, while responsive, are rather cramped and would cause hindrance to someone who is used to a bigger and wider keyboard. Nevertheless, it is more about habit and I was able to adapt to it eventually. One feature that I truly appreciated was the fingerprint sensor, which is integrated into the smooth, responsive, and intuitive trackpad. The fingerprint sensor added a much-needed security feature to the laptop, immediately encouraging me to trust it more. It is also quite responsive and hardly caused a delay while unlocking the Spin 5.

Acer Spin 5 Laptop - Exhibit Magazine

Hardware performance:

With 16GB of RAM, the Spin 5 ran smoothly and did not trouble me while using it for everyday basics. Emailing, internet surfing, and video binge-watching worked flawlessly. However, it did start to lag when playing heavy, full HD games, or using video editing software for large files. Also, the Intel i5 10th Gen processor clocks in at 1.10 GHz with a maximum speed of 1.50 GHz. That, combined with Intel’s new Iris Plus integrated GPU, means that the Spin 5 can run a decent variety of games, but is far below the requirements of AAA games (Those fancy high definition ones on Steam)

Camera:

Considering the new normal, most of my meetings and discussions happened virtually. Naturally, I had extensive use of the front camera (Webcam for all you geeks!). Now, obviously this is not a camera oriented device and neither do I intend to compare it with one, but as these are Zoom days, I can conclude that the front camera is not comparable to that of a Macbook.

Verdict:

Since the Acer Spin 5 is more of a jack of all trades, I did not wish to pinpoint its flaws as such. However, I did find the sound a little lacking in spite of its front-facing speakers. The bloatware (unwanted software included on a new computer or mobile device by the manufacturer) is definitely a bummer and the laptop would have done much better sans that. With a price tag around Rs 90,000, this one is definitely a hard-hitter on the pocket. But what you get for burning a hole in your pocket is a sleek, stylish and comfortable laptop. All in all, the Acer Spin 5 is a well-rounded, (well folded, to be cheeky) laptop and can cater to a wide audience. It’s super light to carry and you actually don’t need an iPad when you have this with you. The battery lasts you a good 6 hours of continuous usage though claimed is 11 hours and I assume this means putting the ignition on and not really driving forward.

Kia Motors reveals its electrification plans!

Kia Motors Corporation has shared a glimpse of its global electric vehicle (EV) business strategy today, revealing an early sketch of several of the brand’s future dedicated Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). Details of Kia’s future EV product strategy were announced by Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song during an event at the brand’s Hwasung plant in Korea.

Kia will establish a leadership position in the global EV market by responding to fast-growing global consumer demand for EVs. The brand will launch a diverse range of dedicated BEVs and partner with EV charging companies worldwide to achieve this.

“Kia has sold more than 100,000 BEVs worldwide since the introduction of our first mass-produced BEV in 2011, the Kia Ray EV, ” said CEO Song. “Since then, we have started to introduce a range of new BEVs for global markets and announced plans to accelerate this process in the years ahead. By refocusing our business on electrification, we are aiming for BEVs to account for 25 percent of our total worldwide sales by 2029.”

Under Kia’s ‘Plan S’ strategy, announced at the start of 2020, the brand plans to expand its BEV line-up to 11 models by 2025. Over the same period, Kia is aiming for BEVs to account for 20 percent of the brand’s total vehicle sales in advanced markets, including Korea, North America, and Europe. Seven dedicated BEVs in the sketch revealed today will be launched by 2027.

The first of these BEVs, code-named CV, will be revealed in 2021 as the brand’s first dedicated BEV, destined for many regions globally. The new model will offer the same competitive product quality and eye-catching design as Kia’s other vehicles, with high-performance driving and recharging characteristics.

Kia Motors is undergoing a company-wide transformation in order to realize ‘Plan S’. The CV model, due to launch in 2021, will encapsulate the brand’s attitude towards innovation and change, presenting a new design direction that signifies Kia’s transition to an EV-focused business strategy. Kia’s new design philosophy embraces progress, diversity, and a rich composition of contrasting elements.

Kia is innovating its vehicle planning, development, and production to actively reflect diverse customer needs from the product planning stage. Kia is planning to respond to market demands by offering diversified product types, with a range of models suitable for urban centers, long-range journeys, and performance driving. Furthermore, by adapting its new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), Kia will be able to offer vehicles with best-in-class interior spaciousness.

Kia Motors is also seeking to innovate its sales practices for EVs. The brand is exploring the creation of subscription services to offer a diversified buying option for customers, as well as EV battery leasing and rental programs, and other ‘second-life’ battery-related businesses.

Travel buffs! Feast upon the new avatar of KOGO 2.0 with automated trip content creation & discovery!

Everyone loves travelling. As humans, we possess a natural tendency that makes us meet new people. We don’t realize it, but we all need it. While listening to an adventurous travel story, have you ever thought of telling one yourself?

Well, what if someone tells it on your behalf? In an arranged manner without missing out on the slightest detail that we often tend to forget. This is where things get serious. Meet the KOGO TripTracker, the most intelligent device that you’ll witness while travelling! KOGO is a device-app combo that allows you to track your road trips precisely and create stories that include every moment you capture. An app that tells you the nearest local stores, food-points, chai tapris, and even talk and meet with other travelers on the same route for a better experience.

Speaking on the development, Mr Raj K Gopalakrishnan said, “While Corona brought the world to a grinding halt, we worked overtime to add the maximum value to the product for our users. The result is 7 new features and 41 feature enhancements in KOGO 2.0, which I can confidently say is at par with the best platforms in the world today, in terms of performance, features, and architecture. But the big delight for users is AI trip videos. Creating Trip videos (amateur or vlogs) has plagued travelers globally. They never did it, because it required skill and time. We have completely automated the process with our proprietary AI Video Engine. Finish a trip and it’s like magic. A freshly minted video created automatically, with pictures, routes, stats, animation, graphics and music. I truly believe we have opened the floodgates to a boom of user-generated videos.”

KOGO includes two pieces of an intelligent system. The hardware piece being the KOGO TripTracker with a built-in GPS tracker that tracks one’s position and the software is the KOGO App which eventually puts things together for you to see them. Whether you’re riding, cycling, driving, or hiking, KOGO records everything. It’s like a personal storyteller.

LOOKS & FEATURES OF KOGO 2.0

The KOGO TripTracker is a little black box with a GPS tracker, a data SIM card, and its own battery. The device needs to be charged once every seven days. Additionally, don’t worry about travelling in no-network areas; the TripTracker stores up to 20 days of offline content. The device never interferes with your phone’s battery. The device can be mounted on to a motorcycle, a car’s dashboard, or can be put in your backpack. Once the app is enabled and synced with the KOGO TripTracker, it’s magic.

However, the KOGO 2.0 version of the App has brought new enhancements along with 7 new features. The app is designed to work LIVE, while you enjoy your journey. The features include Kogo Carousel, a part of the new UI that gives a unified view of stories, videos, maps, and live features simultaneously. The AI Video Engine creates completely automated trip videos. Along with all this, you can be a part of the rich global community of travelers by discussing, suggesting, or asking for recommendations. You can participate in KOGO Quests, or create your own, giving yourself another reason to travel.

KOGO 2.0 tracks every single detail of your trip capturing routes, halts, places of interest, weather, and more. You don’t even have to stop at times. The app does it automatically if you happen to miss an event or place of interest on the way. It finds an unlicensed photograph of the event for you to remember. Through the KOGO TripTracker, you’ll have automated sync of your photos, videos, and text with the route, stops and moments.

The magic doesn’t end here. KOGO 2.0 enables enhanced discovery of trips, people, and quests with different filters such as Nearby, Trip Duration, Distance, Tags and Recommended. It also enables you to ask for Live help from other travelers and the community while on a trip. It also comes with a direct messaging feature between users. The AI storytelling Engine of KOGO turns your trip timeline into amazing trip videos and rich travel stories with maps, images, videos, and text. You can revisit and share your experiences through your stories across social media. It even creates customized cards of your content while you share.

The KOGO App is free to download on Android and iOS and the device is available at an introductory price of INR 7,749. The one-year subscription cost for premium features of the app is INR 1,499. You can buy it on Amazon or across 125 points of sale in India.

Ex: Tell us about a change you’ve seen in the digital blogging space since you started out your journey? How has this space evolved?

Tanzeel: I’ve started being really active and religiously following the digital blogging scene since 2016 now. Honestly, this very space has evolved a lot… as we have a lot of beautiful and hardworking creators all over social media platforms. Which were not really active a year or two before. Availability of Internet everywhere is one of the reasons I’m guessing

Ex: Can you give us an insight into social media platforms that only an Influencer can know?
Tanzeel: There’s no special formula or spell that actually works. I personally feel consistency is the key, and anlaysing what your audience loves and giving them exactly they want from you

Ex: If you were stranded on an island, what are the 3 gadgets you’d take along?
Tanzeel: My mobile phone, my laptop and my microphone.

Ex: A technology you wish you had invented?
Tanzeel: I wish I would’ve invented aircrafts

Ex: What’s been your favorite encounter with a fan so far? (DMs included!)
Tanzeel: Every fan encounter has been very special… I won’t segregate any into the favourite , but there’s one when I was in the canteen of my college and a junior walked up to me and said “Tanzeel Bhai I’m a big fan of you and specially your hairstyle, and I try and manage to keep my hair like you” That really motivated me, since It made me realise how I am at a point who can actually influence people without actually knowing them

Ex: What does success mean to you?
Tanzeel: Success for me is Serenity
