OnePlus 10T – First Impressions and Hands-On Review

OnePlus is releasing its new flagship, the OnePlus 10T. OnePlus was once known as the value brand, but their phone costs were soaring thanks to recent partnerships. This time, they’ve dropped the price on the OnePlus 10T and seem nostalgic. Here is our first impression of this new flagship offering from OnePlus.

Design

The OnePlus 10T follows the same burdenless, unified, and stylish design language as the OnePlus 10 Pro, complete with a unibody rear glass cover made with industry-leading technology. The OnePlus 10T is available in Moonstone Black and Jade Green colourways. The smooth glass delivers a ceramic-like finish that looks and feels premium. The significant difference in design between the 10Pro and 10T is the exclusion of an alert slider in the latter. The display has no curvature and is flat like the OnePlus phones of the past.

Display

The OnePlus 10T has a 6.7-inch FHD+ HDR 10+ AMOLED display, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 950 nits. The OnePlus 10T’s display has an adaptive refresh rate, meaning it can adjust between 120 Hz, 90 Hz, and 60 Hz depending on the content consumed to save battery life. Both 10Pro and 10T’s display has native support for 10-bit colour depth, delivering richer and more realistic colours with better detail reproduction. But, the 10T display is not curved on its side and presents a flat design, a more acceptable approach. It also misses out on the 1440p LTPO display without compromising on the display quality.

OnePlus 10T

Battery

OnePlus touts the complementary high-wattage accessory and 4,800mAh 10T battery capable of superior stability, reliability and thermal control, thanks to new OPPO charging technology. SuperVOOC charger allows 150W charging from the 160W charger inside the box. Unlike the Pro series, this one misses out on wireless charging, but the ultra-fast charger does compensate. 0-100% charge in less than 20 minutes!

Processor

To recall, the OnePlus 10 Pro featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and was already a potent but costly device. The new processor – Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 – powering the OnePlus 10T 5G provides 10 per cent better CPU performance and 30 per cent improved power efficiency over its predecessor. And gamers will be pleased to know that there’s a 10 per cent increase in GPU clock speeds and a 30 per cent reduction in GPU power consumption.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is paired with up to 256GB of internal storage and up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM. The two-lane UFS 3.1 storage brings significantly faster write speeds into the picture, leading to a drop in power consumption levels. The 10T processor is a definite upgrade over the 10Pro.

Additional features

OnePlus 10T comes with the in-built Zen Mode app created by the One-Plus community to help users break away from their device and concentrate on other tasks without the constant distraction of the subsequent notification, ping or ring. It acts like a meditation app, and you can set a timer for how long you want the Zen Mode to go on, and you are complimented with meditation songs.

Camera

Talking about the camera, the OnePlus 10T has a 50MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro sensor, with a 16MP camera in the front. 10Pro has a Hasselblad colour science 48MP primary camera with a 32 MP front camera, so 10Pro goes heavy in camera. We captured the images from both these phones, and the 10T performs like most upper mid-range phones with its primary Sony IMX766 sensor, the same found in Nothing Phone (1). The colours are decent but lack the Hasselblad post-processing, a boon in some lighting conditions.

OnePlus 10T

The phone is equipped with OnePlus’s largest and most advanced cooling system. HyperBoost Gaming Engine will aid gamers in getting the best gaming experience on current OnePlus devices. Priced sanely starting at 50k INR with top-tier SOC, super-fast charging, decent cameras, and an attractive design, the OnePlus 10T seems like a thoughtful approach from OnePlus to gain back its lost audience.

OnePlus is all geared up to launch “OnePlus Ace” in China – is it a rebranded OnePlus 10R?

OnePlus is taking its slogan “NEVER SETTLE” quite seriously. The Shenzhen headquartered brand started its journey with the anticipated mid-range smartphone, OnePlus One (popularly known as the “2014 Flagship Killer”.), in 2014, which was priced at $299 for the 16 GB version.

Later on, over the years, the company launched many smartphones and even launched a specific smartphone series referred to as the “NORD” series, which turned out to be a huge success. And now, after acing the smartphone world, the company is all set to launch new series dubbed “ACE” in China on 21st April.

Also, after the successful launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro in India the company is all prepared to launch the OnePlus 10R with insanely fast 150W fast charging in India on 28th April. Now, according to the latest updates, the OnePlus Ace is a rebranded OnePlus 10R and Realme GT Neo3.

Now, if you have a sharp taste for the smartphone, you must have already figured out that OPPO previously used ACE branding. Why OnePlus why? The teaser released on the Weibo and OnePlus’s website for China confirms that the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip will power the upcoming smartphone – OnePlus Ace.

The upcoming smartphone has a triple camera setup, which we witnessed during leaks, and surprisingly it does not have the signature OnePlus alert slider. The company hasn’t revealed the front side of the smartphone yet, but we will know about it in a week.

OnePlus Launched OnePlus 10 Pro Along With OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2

OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, an extension of its Never Settle product philosophy. What does one expect from a flagship device? A top of the line processor, more than enough RAM and storage, a great camera, and a premium design. And this is exactly what the OnePlus 10 Pro has to offer.

Design

It’s very difficult for a smartphone to stand out in the market since most of them look just the same. OnePlus 10 Pro is anything but a routine looking smartphone. It comes in two distinct colours – Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest and comes with a not-so-regular glass back. The back of the Volcanic Black model has micro-crystals that make the smartphone look like glittery grains of sand are boxed in it. The camera unit is the star aspect of this smartphone. The camera effortlessly blends into the metal frame of the smartphone and flows to the side of the phone.

Specifications & Price

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.7 inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120hz refresh rate and comes with dual-colour calibration, a one-of-a-kind technology that ensures the delivery of natural and accurate colours. The triple camera setup consists of a 48 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide sensor and an 8 MP telephoto sensor.

The smartphone runs on OxygenOS and is based on Android 12. The phone has a 5,000 mAh battery which can easily go through a day of heavy usage. In addition, you get an 80W SuperVOOC charger in the box. OnePlus 10 Pro runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The 8 GB RAM /128 GB Storage variant is priced at ₹66,999, while the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB Storage is priced at ₹71,999.

Conclusion

The OnePlus 10 Pro manages to deliver better performance, camera, and other aspects than the OnePlus 9RT, which was released last year. It also stands out from other smartphones in terms of design which is one of the major challenges for most smartphones.

OnePlus is all geared up to launch OnePlus 10 Pro globally

The OnePlus 10 Pro is probably the first smartphone with multiple releases. The latest smartphone from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer debuted in China in January, and later on, it was re-launched at MWC 2022 in February.

The flagship smartphone was not released altogether in large part of the world, which created additional hype for the smartphone. Now, all of a sudden, the company decided to launch the OnePlus 10 Pro globally on 31st March.

The launch of the phone will be live-streamed on significant platforms, including the official YouTube channel and official Twitter account of OnePlus. The smartphone will be available for pre-order on OnePlus and Amazon websites from 31st March.

The smartphone has a 6.7″ 1440p display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It comes with a 5000mAh battery which offers 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a triple camera setup which consists of a 48-MP primary lens, 50-MP ultra-wide lens and 8-MP telephoto lens. The phone boasts a 32-MP selfie camera, and it also has a new RAW mode which allows you to click RAW photos.

The company also offers a pre-order bonus on the OnePlus 10 Pro – a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro. The smartphone price is not revealed yet, but it is expected to be around 50,000 Rs. for the 8/128 GB variant, about 55,000 Rs. for the 8/256 GB variant and around 60,000 Rs. for the 12/256 GB variant.

Along with the smartphone, the company is all set to launch the bullets wireless Z2, a successor of OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, at its upcoming event. Additionally, the company confirmed its flagship 10 series would consist of just one phone – OnePlus 10 Pro, which clearly indicates that the OnePlus 10 will not be there.

According to industry analysts, Apple might launch the third-gen iPhone SE by March 2022. The affordable smartphone will have Apple’s speedy A15 chip, but again, it might arrive with the home button and bezel styling of the 2nd-gen SE or with a notched display. Let’s hope for the best.

Apple iPhone 14

Now, it’s been like a tradition that Apple will unwrap a fresh batch of next-generation iPhones every year around the third quarter of the year and we’re addicted to it. In the world of the smartphone industry, Google phones are best known for their cameras as they’re unmatchable.
