JONITA GANDHI – Music Sensation Of The Year (Female)

jonita-gandhi

Ex : How did your content creation journey kick start?
I started posting covers on YouTube when I was in high school and University. I was inspired by the work of Aakash Gandhi (88keystoeuphoria), and then I eventually started collaborating with him. Our covers started getting noticed around the world!

Ex : What is your most viral reel/short? How did the idea come, and how long did it take to shoot?
The most viral reel I’ve ever posted was a video of me performing What Jhumka with my team at my first-ever concert in Colombo. The idea came up because we loved the hook step, and we really wanted to debut the song at that concert, so we took a nice clip from the live concert in the middle of the show and posted it online.

Ex : Any 4 creators you want to collaborate with in the future.
Charlie Puth.

Ex : What piece of tech is your favourite.
My Apple Watch.

Ex : Assuming Instagram is shutting down in 24 hours, what will you do?
I would take screenshots of my saved posts.

Ex : Do you have an industry mentor?
I have many. A.R. Rahman and Salim Merchant are amongst others.

Ex : Tell us about a project that you are the most proud of.
The project I’m working on right now is a solo non-film project. I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Ex : Give us one or more hashtags describing you.
#GoofyGandhi #YOLO #FakeItTillYouMakeIt

Ex : Can you describe a BTS / blooper that happened during a shoot but didn’t make it into the final content piece?
There must be so many because, you know, I’m sort of a clown. I think one of the most memorable behind-the-scenes moments was Arjun whispering in my ear not to puke on him while we were shooting Tujhe Bhula Diya because I was incredibly sick during that shoot.

Ex : What’s the first-ever trend that you hopped on?
I guess making YouTube covers if you call that a trend? And doing mashups.

Ex : What will the creator landscape look like in 10 years from now?
The value of creators might go down by then because there will likely be too many.

Ex : What are the platforms you are active on – how do you decide what goes where?
I’m primarily active on Instagram and YouTube. Shorter-form content for Instagram and longer-form content for YouTube is how I decide what goes where.

Ex : What’s the next big thing in the pipeline for you?
My solo project! Stay tuned to my social media to find out more!

Ex : What is your dream project?
Currently, I am collaborating with Silk Sonic on a song. Universe, can you hear me?

Ex : Advice you would like to give to budding creators.
You could hone your craft and don’t get too caught up in the optics.
