    Mivi SuperPods Opera Review

Mivi, an Indian brand known for offering affordable tech solutions, has made significant strides in the TWS market by offering products that combine reasonable performance with attractive pricing. Their latest offering, the Mivi SuperPods Opera, aims to bring a refined and enjoyable listening experience without breaking the bank. The term “Opera” is often associated with a grand and immersive musical performance, indicating Mivi’s ambition to deliver a clear audio experience. But does the SuperPods Opera live up to this proud name? Let’s break it down.

    Design

At first glance, the Mivi SuperPods Opera is a well-designed product. The matte finish on the charging case feels smooth and gives the earbuds a premium look. However, the case has a Glossy plastic, which attracts smudges and scratches when kept inside bags. The case is compact, lightweight, and easily pocketable, making it convenient for travel. The earbuds sport a familiar stem design, which I find comfortable. The IPX4 water resistance rating ensures they can handle sweat and light splashes, so workouts and rainy days are not a problem.

    Performance

The 13mm dynamic drivers on the Mivi SuperPods Opera deliver a good but not spectacular sound. The sound signature will likely satisfy you if you’re a casual listener who enjoys everyday music genres like pop or light rock. The bass is present, but it lacks the deep punch which is found on more premium earbuds. It’s adequate but not particularly powerful. This makes the SuperPods Opera a decent choice for bass lovers but not one that will blow audiophiles away.

The mids are clear, ensuring vocals and instruments are distinct, but they don’t pop out with the kind of warmth or richness found in higher-end models. The highs, though present, can feel slightly compressed at times, mainly when listening to more complex compositions or higher frequencies. This is good for those who listen to regular music but less.

The lack of active noise cancellation (ANC) is another drawback, but it offers AI-ENC, which uses AI to reduce Environmental noise. The earbuds do a passable job of filtering out some ambient noise, but they are not ideal for commuting or crowded spaces where external sounds can easily sneak in.

    Connectivity

On the connectivity front, the SuperPods Opera uses Bluetooth 5.4. The pairing was fast and straightforward. The connection remained solid in everyday use without any noticeable lag, even when watching videos or playing mobile games. However, some minor latency issues may crop up in fast-paced gaming environments, but they are not deal-breakers.

The touch controls on the SuperPods Opera are responsive, allowing users to manage music playback, answer calls, and activate voice assistants. However, the controls can sometimes be overly sensitive, leading to accidental pauses or skipped tracks when adjusting the earbuds.

The Mivi app is functional but lacks depth. It includes features such as checking battery levels, adjusting the equalizer (EQ), and customizing touch controls. However, it occasionally experiences connectivity issues and can be unresponsive at times. While there is potential for improvement through future updates, the app feels somewhat basic at its current launch.

    Battery Life

Battery life is one of the strong suits of the Mivi SuperPods Opera. On a single charge, the earbuds last up to 8 hours, with the charging case extending this to a total of 40 hours. This is impressive for earbuds in this price range, especially given the fast-charging feature, which allows for about an hour of playback with just 10 minutes of charging.

    Verdict

The Mivi SuperPods Opera is a solid entry-level TWS option, offering good performance at an affordable price but with some compromises. The sound quality is decent, though bass lovers might be disappointed. The absence of active noise cancellation is noticeable, and while they are stylish and comfortable, they can easily attract smudges and scratches.

However, they provide reliable connectivity, impressive battery life, and a comfortable fit, making them suitable for casual users. Overall, the Mivi SuperPods Opera is great for those seeking decent quality at an affordable price, perfect for everyday use.
