Mercedes-Benz is taking remote work to a whole new level by letting drivers join Microsoft Teams video calls straight from the car dashboard. In a first-of-its-kind move, the German luxury carmaker has partnered with Microsoft to integrate the Teams app into its in-car system.

This feature will soon be available on select Mercedes-Benz models, allowing users to attend video meetings while on the move without needing to touch their phones.

Take a Call Without Taking Your Hands Off the Wheel

As part of the integration, drivers can use the car’s built-in camera to join Teams calls. Other meeting participants will be able to see the driver on video adding a whole new dimension to work-from-anywhere culture.

Mercedes says the system has been designed with safety in mind. While the driver’s video will be visible to others, they won’t be able to see any shared screens, slides, or participant videos while driving. In fact, the meeting stream automatically switches to audio-only mode when the camera is active.

    Made for Bangalore Traffic?

In a light-hearted note, Mercedes called the feature perfect for city traffic where long, slow-moving commutes are a daily reality for many professionals. And let’s face it, if there’s any city where this would come in handy, it’s Bengaluru.

Whether you’re stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic or heading to a client meeting, the idea of attending a call without pulling over could be a game-changer for busy professionals.

Part of a Bigger Push into Smart Mobility

The Teams integration is part of Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System), which focuses on making the car smarter, more connected, and productivity-friendly. Alongside Teams, the company is also working on adding support for Microsoft 365 Copilot bringing AI-powered assistance right into the car.

That means in the near future, your car could help you write emails, review documents, or manage your calendar all through voice commands.

    Final Thoughts

With hybrid work becoming the new normal, carmakers are rethinking how vehicles can help people stay connected on the go. Mercedes-Benz is clearly leading the charge with a feature that blends business and mobility and maybe makes your next traffic jam a little more productive.
