1. What inspired you to start your journey as creator and finance educator?
Financial literacy and education have always been my passion. I realised the importance of financial independence very early in life. The freedom that comes with earning and growing your own assets is irreplaceable. I have been a television journalist for 16 years, and two years ago I realised how platforms are shifting, and distribution is moving to social. That insight helped me make the switch.
2. One piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting out?
Whatever field you are starting in, the best way to do it is just to start. There is no perfect way of doing anything. Finding your authentic voice and showcasing it to the world is the only way to do it. You have to learn to embrace failure along the way; allowing yourself to fail is the only way to learn and grow.
3. What’s one thing you always spend money on without regret?
I never regret spending money on travel and learning something new. I try to learn a new skill or craft every year, so that growth never stops.
4. What does success mean to you today?
Success means having the freedom to manage my time as I wish. It’s about being able to enjoy a coffee with a friend on a weekday, pick up my son from school whenever I choose, and go for a run on the beach in the middle of the workday.
5. If investing was a Bollywood movie, which one would it be and why?
If investing were a Bollywood movie, it would be 3 Idiots. Throughout the film, Aamir Khan constantly emphasizes, “Chase excellence, and success will follow.” Rancho was the disciplined, visionary investor who thinks long-term and questions herd mentality.
6. One finance myth you wish people would stop believing ASAP.
One finance myth I want people to stop believing is that the stock market is a place for gambling where everyone loses money in the end.

7. What advice would you give to your 16 year self?
I would tell my 16-year-old self to ignore the noise, believe in yourself, and take risks. We often spend our youth listening to others and miss out on making bold decisions, only to regret it later. I would advise my younger self to disregard everyone else’s advice, pursue your own passions, take those risks, make mistakes, and learn from the experience along the way.
8. If you had to simplify personal finance into just three rules, what would they be and why?
Simplify personal finance into three rules: invest when young, invest for the long term, and invest consistently.
9. What money lesson do you wish was taught in schools but never is?
I wish the power of compounding were taught in schools. It can help you create exponential wealth over time. It’s called the eighth wonder of the world for a reason. Albert Einstein said that compounding is one of the most powerful forces in finance. Benjamin Franklin summed it up simply: “Money makes money, and the money that money makes, makes money.”
10. What’s your idea of real self-care, not the Instagram version?
True self-care involves prioritizing your needs above those of others. The first step in this process is developing self-awareness. Many of us do not take the time to introspect and understand what we truly want, which often leads us to let external influences dictate our desires and choices. This is when conflict arises, resulting in comparison, unhappiness, and other negative feelings. Genuine self-care means dedicating time to understanding yourself, prioritizing your own needs, and ultimately silencing the external noise around you.
11. If you would want to switch your life with one creator, who would it be and why?
I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone. I’m very happy living my own life!
12. If Instagram crashes tomorrow morning, what would be your reaction?
If Instagram crashes, I would definitely be upset. It’s a great platform that helps you learn, earn, grow, and provides opportunities beyond what your mind can fathom
