At its Made on YouTube 2025 conference, YouTube announced a powerful lineup of AI-driven tools designed to make content creation faster, smarter, and more engaging. The new features include Veo 3 Fast for AI video generation, Edit with AI for intelligent video editing, and Speech to Song for remixing dialogue into music. Together, these tools aim to help creators experiment, save time, and connect with audiences in fresh ways.
YouTube Shorts: What’s New
Veo 3 Fast for AI Video Creation
One of the biggest highlights is the integration of Veo 3 Fast, a custom version of Google DeepMind’s video creation model. With this, creators can transform text prompts into short video clips with audio directly inside YouTube Shorts. The videos are generated in 480p for faster results, and YouTube has confirmed the feature will be free to use initially in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Creators will also be able to enhance Shorts with AI-powered effects, including:
- Add Motion: Turn static photos into dynamic clips by borrowing movements from another video, such as a dance or sports action.
- Stylize: Apply unique artistic filters like pop art or origami to transform video styles.
- Add Objects: Insert props, characters, or effects simply by typing them in.
These experimental tools will begin rolling out over the next few months.

Edit with AI
To simplify editing, YouTube is rolling out Edit with AI, which automatically selects the best highlights from raw footage, adds transitions, music, and even context-aware voiceovers in Hindi or English. Initially, it will be tested within Shorts and the YouTube Create app before expanding more widely.
Speech to Song
Powered by DeepMind’s Lyria 2 music model, the new Speech to Song feature can remix spoken dialogue from eligible videos into catchy tracks across different genres whether chill or upbeat. The original creators are credited, giving Shorts a fun new layer of musical creativity.
SynthID for AI Transparency
To ensure transparency, YouTube confirmed that all AI-generated content will include SynthID watermarks and content labels. Developed by Google DeepMind, SynthID embeds invisible watermarks into AI media, making it easier to verify whether a video was created with artificial intelligence.
Final Thoughts
With these updates, YouTube is positioning itself as the go-to platform for AI-assisted creativity. Whether you’re making Shorts, experimenting with music, or looking for quick editing solutions, these tools will give creators more freedom to innovate while keeping audiences engaged.
