A progressive journey from phones to smartphones is on a turbocharger !

With the world finally picking up the pace postpandemic, a lot of hustle-bustle has begun. We started travelling full-fledged and tried to pack in
as much as we had missed it during the lockdown. Though our travelling never stopped with automobiles & Topgear required us to be on roads all the time. We are in full swing to host the Exhibit Tech Awards next month, and with a lot of things happening simultaneously, we managed to catch hold on a lot of stuff that you will encounter in this issue. With segmenting the categories to finalizing the jury panel, this issue will give you a sneak peek into all the nomination categories. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite gadgets while you can at www. exhibit.tech/awards21.

This issue majorly talks about the history & evolution in various tech domains. Be it phones, gaming consoles, in-car infotainment systems, we have tried to cater for a number of topics for you to indulge into. On the automotive front, we got our hands on the future of electric mobility in India. We drove the all-new Audi E-Tron GT, and god !, it was an exhilarating experience. We were pretty sure that if the future looks like this, we are in good hands. The all-new Maruti Suzuki Celerio took us around the city of Udaipur, with much contentment and confidence of its own. It is with the time that we will see if it actually delivers the claimed fuel economy in real-world driving.

The Swedish automakers are not falling behind either. With the Volvo XC60 making its entry with a facelift that saved it from mid-life crises, is here to take on the likes of its German competitors. It is a sharp looker, and with all the added tech and driving aids, we are sure it is one of the safest cars to be driving around in.

And we had some crazy boy moments while rocketing the Mercedes Benz AMG GLE 63 S coupe at Asia’s longest high-speed test track NATRAX. It is (A)ggressive, (M)ean and (G)olliath and has got every character an AMG must-have.

The lines between technology and automobiles have been fast blurring and a progressive journey from phones to smartphones has been on the rise. Crypto is forever exciting and remains volatile, one significant news from anywhere can create havoc in all crypto exchanges. On that
note, we have rounded up crypto exchanges and all their founders – meet them on the following pages. And to sign off we got Bollywood playback sensation Armaan Malik who could have also been a successful actor owing to his chiselled looks makes his debut with us for our cover story with the realme GT Neo 2. It’s an exciting issue and definitely an exciting month next one which marks our 16th anniversary. Stay tuned and stay safe.

Leh Ladakh in Volvo XC90 & XC60 / Luxury Road Trip

What would you do if you had unlimited time, money and resources? You would definitely strike off everything that comes on your bucket list, but unfortunately, we can’t have all of these above things together. You can earn tons of money which will buy you resources, but time, it’s the only thing you can’t buy, and that’s why we decided to strike off one more place from my bucket list and hopped on Volvo XC90 & XC60 to reach Leh-Ladakh via road from Delhi.

We fuel our bodies with food, our minds with knowledge, our hearts with love and our life with memories. When you’re on your deathbed, the only things that matters are the memories you created when you were fit and fine. It’s necessary to take time for things you enjoy in life, and what’s a better option to enjoy and create last-long memories than going on a luxury trip. Leh & Ladakh is a place that exists on almost every bucket list, and I’m no different from the majority.

Atal Tunnel

We decided to pick Volvo XC90 & XC60 cars for our ride to reach the lush meadows, Chinar forests, and apple orchards of Ladakh. We stayed for a night in The Himalayan, one of the top luxury boutique resorts in Manali and left towards our destination early in the morning. On the way, we drove on Atal Tunnel, which is named after India’s former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s name. Atal or Rohtang tunnel is a highway tunnel built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali Highway in Himachal Pradesh.

The 9.02 Km long tunnel reduces the travel time and overall distance between Manali and Keylong on the way to Leh, and currently, it is the world’s longest single tube highway tunnel at an altitude above 3,000 m(10,000 ft). Volvo XC90 and XC60 are two of my favourite cars from Volvo’s Swedish design and craftsmanship, but they have noticeable differences between each other. The major differences are that the XC90 can seat up to seven passengers while the XC60 can seat five passengers. The XC90 has an optional Recharge T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, while the XC60 has a Polestar Engineered trim package paired with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The well-rounded SUVs have calm and collected interiors that keep you focused on the drive ahead, and that’s why we recommend you to either travel in a well-equipped SUV or don’t take more than two halts while driving towards up in the hills. More halts will eventually result in breathlessness, which is not a good thing to deal with when you’re travelling in high altitude areas. While driving in places like Leh and Ladakh, one must always stay aware of the situation because landslides are a widespread disaster.

The Hospitality of the Locals

People around the Leh & Ladakh towns are amicable and helpful, they’ll help you choose the best route to the destination, they’ll help you if your vehicle is stuck in the mud and the essential things they offer on these deserty roads is Dhaba-cooked Maggies, which tastes delicious. The roads around this region are dubious, has bumpy stretches, and are unpaved. So, if you’re not an experienced driver who’s comfortable driving in India, especially in the hills, self-drive is a big no-no for you.

Thiksey Monastery

The massage seats of the Volvo XC90 & XC60 are some of the bests I’ve ever been seated. The five preset massage programs are- Swell, Tread, Advanced, Lumbar or Shoulder. Thanks to these cars’ massage seats, we’ve reached the Thiksey Monastery in a single piece. The famous Buddhist Monastery is located on top of a hill in Thiksey, approximately 19 kilometres east of Leh in Ladakh. The 12-storey complex houses many items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, thangkas, wall paintings and swords. The views from the Monastery are breathtaking, and given its popularity, it needs no introduction about its beauty.

Nubra Valley

The valley is popular amongst the tourist for its orchards, scenic vistas, Bactrian camels and monasteries. Nubra or Ldumra (means the valley of flowers) valley is situated 10,000 feet (3,000 m) above sea level, and the common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh. The Volvo XC90 and Volvo XC60 cars accompanied us to reach one of the most challenging terrains globally, and all happened because these two cars have a Hill-start assist feature. The advanced feature automatically stops your vehicle from backrolling when you press and release the brakes on an uphill gradient by holding the brake pressure. With that, we have covered a number of sites during our trip but left one of the famous spots for the next time, which is Pangong Lake. The Leh & Ladakh is truly a road trip that one will recall in the late years of their life.

iPhone 13 Pro Max VS 12 Pro Max VS Android | Review

When Apple added the tagline, “Oh. So. Pro.” under the iPhone 13 Pro Max, to attract consumers, we had no choice but to believe in the company and wait till the launch. When the phone arrived at our office for a review, we realized what Apple said about the iPhone 13 Pro Max was absolutely true as it is the best iPhone ever and features the best camera update along with the best battery life ever on iPhones.

Before moving ahead with the top 5 elements of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, lets first take a look at the common smartphone buying scenario, you’ll find there are three kinds of smartphone buyers in the world now, one who has an iPhone 11 series or before that, the second one who has bought iPhone 12 Pro Max in October 2020 when it was launched and the last ones are Android users who have been forever wanting to switch to apple but haven’t moved to the ship yet.

Now, if you’re the first type of buyer, I would recommend you go for iPhone 13 Pro Max as it’s the best one in the market, worth every penny and you will get a completely updated smartphone which you won’t have to change for another 3-4 years unless Apple drops foldable screen, obliterates notch and adds a fingerprint scanner. Well, these are the three things that I am personally looking forward to but if you have the money buy it now.

If you’re the second type of buyer who has already drilled a hole in a wallet with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, then stay put and be prepared to live your life without the features such as Pro-Motion, Cinematic Mode, Bigger Battery, and 120Hz refresh rate. And for the last type of buyers, switching from Android to Apple is a never-ending journey as the only similarity between the two is the first alphabet of their names.

Battery:

Unfortunately, even in iPhone 13 lineup, you can’t see your battery percentage without pulling down the control center, but all 2021 iPhones come with increased battery capacity, and in the case of the iPhone 13 Pro Max’ battery life, it has a 4352 mAh battery, about 18% more than its predecessor iPhone 12 Pro Max, which has 3687 mAh of battery capacity.

This is a huge upgrade and the gigantic battery can last long for a day at least. When I was on a business trip to Pondicherry, I watched a movie in Full HD resolution on the 13 Pro Max from 6 AM to 9 AM during my flight. Later on, I used the GPS from Chennai to Pondicherry, clicked a few photos during halts, made videos for the gram, and still, at the end of the day, by 10 PM, it had some juice left for me, which is simply incredible and ensures it has the most optimized battery ever in a smartphone today.

Resolution & Refresh Rate:

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max has a small bezel around the screen like its older siblings, and it even has the exact screen sizes and resolutions: 6.7 inches at 1284 x 2778 pixels and~458 PPI density with super retina XDR OLED. The significant difference between the two Pro Max’s is in the 13 Pro Max, you get a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits HBM, whereas, in the 12 Pro Max, you get a 60 Hz Refresh Rate and 800 nits. The refresh rate experience is so seamless and fluid in the 13 Pro Max that once you get used to it. But the taste of the pudding is in the eating if you have not used the 13 pro max then you can still live happily with the 12 Pro Max.

Camera & Optics :

The camera system in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max is identical, and you don’t have to buy the most expensive phone in the lineup to get the best photos. The camera on the iPhone 13 Pro device is advertised as the biggest advancement ever as it offers the Pro-Motion and Cinematic Mode Experience. In terms of camera comparison of the 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max, it’s a one-sided game, and discussing it is a complete waste of time.

With the launch of the 13 Pro Max, Apple dropped the best camera smartphone ever. Apple has added improved low-light capability and Night Mode to all three 12MP sensors on the rear of the Pro Max, and the company has also added a feature of a nifty macro photography mode to the phone for a better camera experience. The feature helps the handset shift automatically to an ultrawide camera when you get close to objects, and the effects are stellar.

Since the iPhone 13 Pro Max saves the videos raw, the depth map and the defined focus point stand separate, allowing the video’s focus to be edited afterward not only on the iPhone 13 itself but also on other devices. Currently, Cinematic Mode is available only for the wide-angle, telephoto cameras on the back and the selfie camera.

Chipset:

iPhone 13 Pro Max’s chipset A15 Bionic blows the door off of Android phones as it is extremely fast and gives the phone the title of the world’s fastest phone. The 12 Pro Max has an A14 Bionic, and you’ll know the actual difference between A14 and A15 when you are multitasking and gaming. The new 6-core CPU in the A15 chip is 20-50 % faster than most smartphones, including A14 and snapdragon 888. A15 can process 15.8 trillion operations per second, roughly about 40% more capable than the A14’s 11 trillion operations per second.

Cinematic mode – The Final Nail:

One of the fascinating features of the 2021 iPhones is the Cinematic Mode, which is a total game-changer. Cinematic Mode is basically Portrait Mode, but for video. This mode applies a depth-of-field effect that keeps the focus point of your video sharp while creating a beautifully blurred foreground and background. It also mimics professional videography techniques by adding on-the-fly depth of field effects to recognized subjects. Software algorithms are used to detect and focus on people, pets, and objects, which are made to stand out against blurred backgrounds. With Cinematic Mode, Apple has changed the battlefield where, along with smartphones, even purebred imaging companies like Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm should begin to worry.

Let me try to explain this – Depth of the field in cinematic mode is an illusion, digital illusion rather. When you film, everything is in focus before the computer separates what it perceives as the foreground, background, and everything in between. Now you can decide whether or not to upgrade from the 12 pro max.

Now let’s address the Third Android type – If you are wondering then let me tell you that the closest phone which comes to the 13pro max is still the Samsung S21ultra 5G.

A Break From Normalcy

When I used to hear the term “Revenge Tourism’’ it used to leave me a bit confused. Is it because we were forced to sit at home? Is it because of the lingering thought of another lockdown and restrictions on travel again, or is it because whatever is banned in life is much more fun and adventurous to do? When you have to go on a revenge trip – Leh/Ladakh tops the list, and just the word Leh itself transports you to serene mountains, valleys, flowing river streams, and utmost peace. It was certainly not a revenge trip, but a planned one with Volvo XC90 and XC60 from Delhi as the starting point, a 1000+ km oneway journey with a promise of the most picturesque landscape which your eyes can feast on in India. Leh is a must-visit place before you kick the bucket, and in that sense, it is the best place to take revenge on all the bans
Mr. Covid has imposed our free will.

There is one more reason why the road trip is exciting and entirely nonsensical for the techies in us. Today internet and mobile networks are given, and we only excuse these fundamental rights when we are on board a flight. I experienced this for 14 hours from Manali to Leh on a road trip with no network. Imagine your worried family and friends who know that you are on a mountain trip and your phone does not connect. Apart from that,
it’s a blessing. For those 14 hours, it’s like nature has conspired to make you compulsorily look up from your screens and enjoy the scenery and how beautifully the gods have painted this world. So even if you have the recently launched Apple iPhone 13 in your hands, you will forgo that and soak in Mother Nature. By the way, the Apple iPhone 13 is around the corner; wait for a detailed review in our channels, and we will tell you more about it.

With its Galaxy Z Flip3 and Fold3, Samsung continues to push the innovation envelope, and we can’t wait for others to follow suit. Until that happens, we will continue to relish all the tech delicacies thrown at us. The festive season is waiting at the next signal. Expect a plethora of launches. Still, the magnitude will certainly not be the same as the yesteryears. Generally, at this time, I return from IFA in Berlin, but of course, these are not regular times, but it’s speeding up toward normalcy. Until that happens, stay sound, wear your masks and continue to wash your hands.

The Flip That You Can Fold In Your Pocket

The future is bend. Like in Automobiles future is electric, the same way in the tech world future is screens that can bend, rotate, and remain submerged in water. Flip phones have a nostalgia attached to them ever since Moto Razr was launched and again when Motorola launched its Razr Flip, but before that, Samsung has been axing its saw and had already dropped Fold1 and Fold2 along with Flip1 and Flip2.

And now it’s time to meet Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, while the Z Fold3 is around the corner. The new flip phone is not heavily updated, but it has a unique and wonderful charm to grab attention. When it’s flattened, it looks like a regular smartphone, but when flipped, it feels like you’re having one of the most incredible devices in your hands.

The new flip phone from Samsung comes in two colours (Phantom Black and Cream) and two variants. The 8GB/128GB variant is priced at ₹84,999, while the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at ₹88,999. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has the same processor as the Galaxy S21, and clearly, it’s the first foldable phone everyone wants to buy, including Alia Bhatt, as it doesn’t compromise on performance, durability, and most of all, price.

When it comes to competition, only Motorola Razr lies in this category, but it’s a year-old phone now. I spent most of my time with the Z Flip 3 while running errands, while driving, while trekking, and I realised it just occupies a very little space in your pocket and helps you to move quicker. The Z Flip3 isn’t necessarily a sure bet, it has flaws too, but this new foldable smartphone from Samsung has the potential to be the most normal foldable smartphone available.

Design

The phone arrives in a small box with minimal accessories and doesn’t look different from its predecessors, but it has an outer display with useful features this time. When unfolded, it boasts a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, and when folded, it sports Super AMOLED 1.9-inches. The hinge is more flexible now, and there’s less of a gap between sides when it’s closed, which makes the phone more handsome than ever.

The back of the Z Flip 3 is covered in Gorilla Glass Victus, while a flexible plastic display protects the inside screen. On the right side, there is a lock button with a fingerprint sensor and a volume rocker over it, and on the left side, there is a SIM slot. Sadly, the phone doesn’t have any micoSD slot, so you have to be dependable on the internal storage, but for the very first time, Samsung has secured its foldable phone with an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

Display

The third-generation Z Flip3 has a 6.7-inch tall, 1080 pixel wide OLED display. It has been improved compared to its predecessors but not to the extent to blow your mind. It looks and feels just as lovely as Samsung’s other OLED screens and bright enough for outdoor expenditure. It has comparable visuals to other flagship Full HD displays as it arrives with fast touch response, deep blacks, and smooth scrolling.

The display has a new factory-installed screen protector made from a more rigid material to avoid dents or scratches. The exterior display of the Z Flip3 is four times bigger than the original Z Flip’s tiny outer screen and allows you to do a lot of stuff with it, like checking selfie previews, setting timers and many more.

Camera

The camera hardware on the Galaxy Z Flip3 didn’t upgrade, it remains the same as its predecessor. It has wide and ultrawide cameras on the cover, and a hole-punch selfie camera is on the main display. The camera setup in the Z Flip3 is enough to handle casual photography, but you can get the same camera setup in any other smartphone, which will cost you about half-price of Z Flip3.

The image quality looks great in bright lighting, and you’ll get addicted to the ultra-wide-angle camera. The camera provides impressive outcomes even during low light sessions and dark hours, but overall image quality stays below compared to S21 and S21 Ultra’s image quality.

Performance

The Galaxy Flip3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB of RAM, the same as the Galaxy S21, and it runs on Android 11 with the company’s One UI 3.1 skin on top. The flip phone offers an impressive performance throughout the tasks, whether you’re playing games or watching videos.

The tiny 3,300-mAh batteries are the only significant problem in this phone as it only provides between four and five hours of screentime. Fortunately, the phone supports 15-watt fast charging along with wireless and reverse wireless charging options, so there’s no need to worry about Z Flip 3’s stamina.

Final Verdict

Samsung Z flip3 5G is a device that folds performance, style and a novelty factor which otherwise regular boring clamshell phones don’t offer. If this is what you are looking for, then this could be the one which would fit perfectly in your ‘pocket’.

A Silent Future

Humans have very short memories; look around you and life will look as normal as it was ever with only one accessory added – masks. We have all also adjusted to the new ways of working and even if a third wave comes, everyone and everything is aligned. Work from home (WFH) and Zoom/video meetings have largely been pandemic products and have altered the very fabric of our working lives.

Sitting at the forefront of WFH is WeWork India. They have lots at stake with 35 office buildings in different cities in India with huge investments along with easy-to-rent and leave architecture. In his own words -Karan Virwani, Founder and CEO of WeWork “If Zoom was a pandemic child then WeWork would be a post-pandemic company for sure” and he may have just the right product for the “hybrid working models” which all the Human Resources managers today are busy pelting out.

Since we are talking about changing times – Future is Electric and Audi has just introduced the e-Tron in the ring and with that, the luxury EV Space which had Mercedes EQC and Jaguar I-pace has been completely recharged.
E-Tron with all the luxury SUV features plus a 350km [ Approx] range is what you need with a green badge, as certainly, the way we drive or drive and work is going to completely change.

On the other hand, there is the iconic Suzuki Hayabusa, which still looks almost the same as when it was launched 22 years ago, and even with a price tag of `16.5 lakhs+ had its initial 100 units sold faster than you would take a test ride. It was a technological marvel back in 1999 that transformed the motorcycling world and yes, the dimming sonorous exhaust note has definitely reminded us that it will get rather silent with EVs in the future.

But the future is always uncertain and that’s what makes life exciting. Stay safe.

Founders Club | Shashank Kumar, Co Founder – Razorpay | Leadership Series

Razorpay, valued at $3 billion by GIC and Sequoia India, has been riding atop the digital payments tsunami, witnessing an upsurge in virtual transactions through its online platform. As the digital economy grows in India, the company has been actively working on launching new products and features to keep with the demand and challenges. Shashank Kumar, Co-founder, Razorpay, shares his thoughts on the working of the tech platform, banking, startups, and more with us. #startups #razorpay #leadership

How did the idea come about considering that this space was already crowded?

We started back in 2014, which now seems very long back, in hindsight. When Jio hadn’t happened, demonetization hadn’t happened, so much push that we have today on digitization was not there. We, me and co-founder Harshal, worked at different companies then. I was in Microsoft, and he was in Schlumberger, and we kept on working on side projects. So one of the side projects is where we wanted to accept payments. And that was going to be like a challenging task.

Start accepting payments on the internet is a long, cumbersome process. You need to have a registered company. The banks ask for many physical documents and ask whether you are profitable or have an office set up. A lot of SMEs operate from their homes, a lot of people that may not have a physical location at all times. So with mobile picking up significantly and with the startup coming online, this was when the startup revolution was really beginning. So that is where we felt that there’s a huge gap in the market.

How is Razorpay different from the rest of the players in this space?

It was definitely solving a need for ourselves. I mean, for the economy itself to progress, we strongly feel that we need to build digital goods for India. So we definitely started from a place where we are trying to solve our own problem.

But I think there’s a very strong realization that they’re going to be like, millions of people who are going to be like us in terms of that, you know, they’re trying to make ends meet. So it was a very simple leap to say that we need to solve for every entrepreneur in the country, but It definitely started with the problem we ourselves faced.

When you first started out, did you think the journey would turn this successful in a comparatively short span of time? What were your initial apprehensions?

Building a business is a journey of events. It’s a huge multi-year marathon, but I think the initial years are often the toughest in figuring out how to get traction and how to get product-market fit? We started in Jaipur; we didn’t start in Bangalore because we wanted to really keep our cost. So despite us having some savings, I think we are very cognizant that we should try and make ends meet with the least amount of money possible.

Our expenses used to be like five thousand rupees per month or a maximum of ten thousand rupees per month, and that’s like the moment you take one flight, and that covers that cost. We used to go to banks a lot because we had to deal with payment, and banks are the ones who give out those rails that are there. Most of them were not even aware of us, so they laughed at me because I was 23 years old back then. It’s an age where people usually don’t take you seriously in India. But we have to figure this out.

And then we would have messaged a hundred plus bankers on LinkedIn, whom we can find who we thought could probably help us with payments. And only a few of them, a handful of them, six to seven, would have replied. And then, we had a meeting with three or four people in Delhi and Mumbai.

We took a business plan, which we had prepared overnight. Many bankers said no in that process, and we were waiting for that one yes, as ultimately, only one yes matters. And when we got that one, yes, after meeting multiple people, we were delighted and felt that we had won the world. And now, we have got nothing that is going to stop us. But, I think that was just a start, and I believe there are significant challenges every month or two months.

With the likes of PayTM, PhonePe, InstaMojo, Zest Money, PayU what is RazorPay’s strategy to withstand competition?

The payment is a vast field, but I think our call out is to help the businesses. Most of the payment apps like PhonePe, GooglePay or WhatsApp are playing on the consumer side. They want to solve digital payments from a consumer perspective, where our mission is to provide for SMEs and businesses as they are the heart and soul of the economy. We strongly feel that if you’re able to advertise businesses and move them from manual processes and compliance to digitization and automation, you should go ahead with it. I think that would lead to a significant uptick in the country’s GDP.

I think in the last 12 months since the pandemic started and beyond. There is a massive push because, anyways, everyone is working these days remotely, to the extent that your industry allows, and it’s giving everyone a chance to rethink from scratch. How can they utilize the cost much better? And how can they get more bang for their buck? And that is where we’re solid for any business which needs to accept payments online or do its financial operations well. I think Razorpay is a great partner of choice there as we’re able to demonstrate significant value.

I’ll give you an example, in the pandemic, we have partnered with hundreds of NGOs and helped them with a donation collection. And we brainstorm it and say, ok, how do we take it to the next level? So we tied up with thousands of businesses who are there on our platform and every time a successful payment happens, we show them a message saying that they want to donate something for the ongoing pandemic, and we have helped raise more than Rs 25 crores in terms of donation at this point. All of this is going to a distributed set of NGOs. So this is not going to a centralized fund; it is going through all the local groups where they can deploy those funds and utilize it in an optimum way and immediately impact what they can do for you in this scenario.

Your valuation has tripled in 6 months with the series-e funding round. What lies ahead for Razorpay? Will there be an IPO announcement next?

I think, for the next couple of years, we are very clear on where we want to be. We want to continue helping with the Digitization journey that we are on for SMEs in India. We want to ensure and see how we can help millions of businesses digitize, come on the internet, and take advantage of distribution via the internet.

For example, we launched our payroll product almost one and a half years ago. Payroll is such a painful process, and every employer will typically spend eight to 10 hours every month wrapping their heads and getting payroll right. And spending on compliance as that spending time and getting compliance and talking to their CA” s. We take all of that away and make the payroll simply a one-click process, and the business owner does not need to worry about it at all.

What’s your advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

I think for me, it’s always been that. It would be best if you were building something larger than life. One should work more significantly than life because how can we have an outsized impact on the people around us? I’m very fortunate to receive a good education. I’ve studied through IIT Roorkee, and I know how much education is subsidized by the government. So I feel like I must give back to the ecosystem in a huge way.

I’m in a very privileged position to be where I am. So if I have to make use of that opportunity, I have to try my best. And that may result in failure, but that’s fine. But if you don’t shoot for the best you can do, you will never do your best. I think in my view, the way I look at it, I always want to give my 100% to whatever I’m doing; I always put my best foot forward. And irrespective of the results, at least I sleep peacefully because I’ve tried my best, I have tried hard, and after that, success or failure doesn’t matter.

Imagination Station

There is something about cryptocurrency which has always been intriguing, alluring, and still complicates the minds of ordinary souls, hindering mainstream adoption. There is a comparison drawn between when the internet was born and when cryptocurrency was beginning to unfold. Still, the worldwide web was much simpler to comprehend, and its usage and practicality could convince a blacksmith also, and till today the world of
crypto bounces off many foreheads.

We traced the journey of crypto billionaires, who had secured their seats before the crypto flight took off. There are many exciting stories of people who paid for pizza through bitcoins, and today, it’s worth millions. Anyone who had invested $100 in 2009 could be sitting on a Rolls Royce Phantom today parked in his Beverly Hills mansion and still would have millions to spend. It would be worth almost US$ 48 million today. Phew!

If you are done imagining things that could have been done with that much money, let me have your attention back because the train had left the station in 2009. Take solace with folks who bought cryptocurrency and died with their next of kin having no idea about their inherent lost wealth. We have researched well into what happens to cryptocurrency investment when one dies. Turn to page 34 for answers to that.

On another trivia, have you ever observed any 12 or 13-year-old Instagram accounts? They don’t post, only stories. Gen Z uses Instagram as Snapchat. One possible reason is that they are a much larger insecure bunch, insecure from society and their immediate family. Perhaps future technologies and startups can be based on this simple observation and should adjust their products and services to this behavioral change coming up. Maybe your next train to the Beverly Hills mansion?

What Will Happen If Cryptocurrency Investor Dies?

Death is inevitable, no matter what you do, you have to face it. Ironically we live our lives as if it’s something that won’t happen to us. Michael Jackson had a team of 50 doctors, physicians, cooks etc. Everything he ate and did was under their consultation as he wanted to live for 150 years. Sadly he died a century short at a ripe age of 50 years.

We all care for our family; even after our death, we want them to live safe and sound, and that’s the sole reason we prepare ‘Will’ for them, which includes our bank balance, cars, assets but have you ever thought about what will happen to your Bitcoins after your death? Or Can you put cryptocurrency in your will?

Bitcoins are a virtual form of money protected by unbreakable cryptography, it is one of the safest ways of investment, but most cryptocurrency exchanges don’t permit you to name a person or a contact as a nominee when you make the investment; in such a case, the first thought that will hit your mind is, what’s the point of investing in a market currently worth about $70 billion if my digital fortune will be out of reach, after my death?

A few of the most popular forms of cryptocurrency include the below, and indeed if you are surprised to read these names, you must have landed from the moon.

  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Dogecoin

Presently, there are over 1,500 cryptocurrencies globally, and amongst them, Bitcoin is by far the most widespread digital currency at the moment, with over 8 million active Bitcoin users. The Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Asset Act (RUFADAA) sets the rules and regulations surrounding digital account ownership, and if you’re planning to invest in digital currencies or already have invested in, then you must consider and get yourself familiarize with the RUFADAA and update your wills, trusts, and POAs, according to rules, which eventually will help your beneficiary after your demise.

According to expert reports, 2.5 million to 4 million bitcoins have been lost until today, worth between $15 billion to $24 billion in the current market. The worst thing is most of those Bitcoins are from those who’ve died without sharing a private key with their heirs.

Who can access your digital account after your death?

The private key or password is the only option to get into a crypto account, and no one can’t get into it while you are alive. All the cryptocurrencies are stored on highly secure blockchain technology, so before setting your private key, think twice and note it down somewhere safe as there’s no option to recover once you lost the key. A private key is an inevitable password, which is generated when you create a new cryptocurrency account.

The private key allows the account holder access to the account valuables; along with the private key, every individual account uses a sequence of random characters called a public key, apparent to anyone for sending and receiving the cryptocurrency. Overall, the process of accessing your account is not hard to understand if you make sure you’ve shared a private key and all the details of your cryptocurrency wallet with your recipient before your death, but at the same time, it raises a safety concern too.

Currently, Coinbase is the only cryptocurrency that allows access to an investor’s trusted family member after providing several documents, including a death certificate and the last will. Also, Coinbase users can name a recipient on their Coinbase account while creating a new cryptocurrency account.

Where to store the private key?

There are several safety options to store your cryptocurrency account’s private key; for instance, you can keep it somewhere online or write it down on a piece of paper and hide it somewhere safe. But both these options are way too traditional and raise concern over conventional safety. Some banks and trusts allow you to store wallets and private keys on behalf of clients and even assist your beneficiaries. Still, if you don’t trust these banks and trusts, you can just divide your private key into two parts and put it in two different banks or trusts, but just make sure your beneficiaries know about the sequence. The option you choose is completely up to you.

What is the legal status of cryptocurrencies in India?

Cryptocurrencies are not illegal in India, but unfortunately, India does not have a regulatory framework to govern and control the cryptocurrencies network in the country. The government had constituted an Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) to study virtual currencies on November 2, 2017, and flagged reservations around its misuse by embedding the security reasons.

However, after several cryptocurrency exchanges urged the Centre to regulate virtual coins rather than banning them, now the government is planning to change their old motto, and maybe soon they’ll set up a panel to control them. So if you plan to keep your billion dollars fortune parked in Crypto, you better tell your next of kin the key for it, or it will lose forever in the mining world.

These two devices certainly know how to win hearts in every possible way, and to know them better, let’s hit it one by one.

My first encounter with a Porsche 718 Boxster was in 2016, at the Geneva Motor Show. At first glance, the car looked promising to me, it had everything a car enthusiast wanted to have, and since then, I have waited for a couple of years to go behind the wheels. The 718 models were made for their sport, with one goal to take every day out of every day. All Porsche 718 Boxster models come with the intelligent Porsche Dynamic Light System with bi-xenon headlights and LED running lights.

The 718 Boxster roadster shares a wide nose that also channels the discontinued 918 hypercar. Wheel sizing for Boxster starts at 18 inches but can increase to 20 inches. Its broadside intake vents support the mid-mounted engine from the exterior, while the rear features a sleek and straightforward belt with a faux diffuser and an adaptive rear wing sporting a Porsche text in its centre.

It has a fantastic grip, ready power, and quick steering. It’s fast in its base form, and it gets faster like the petrol prices of our country.
