Sharing Files Across Devices Using Quick Share

Quick Share is a special feature only available on Samsung Galaxy devices. It allows you to easily share files between these devices. To enable Quick Share on your Samsung Galaxy device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Search for “Quick Share” in the Settings app.
  3. Enable Quick Share.

Once you have set up Quick Share, you can start sharing files between your devices. 

Here’s how:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both devices.
  2. On your Galaxy phone, go to the File Explorer or Gallery.
  3. Select the files you want to share.
  4. Tap the Share option.
  5. Choose the Quick Share option to start sharing.

If you’re using a Galaxy Book, the steps are slightly different:

  1. Open the File Explorer on your Galaxy Book.
  2. Right-click on the file you want to share.
  3. Click on “Share using Quick Share.”
  4. Quick Share will open and show nearby Galaxy devices.
  5. Select the device you want to share files with to begin sharing.

Using Galaxy Tab as a Second Screen for Galaxy Book

If you have a Galaxy Tab and a Galaxy Book, you can use the Tab as a second screen for your laptop. 

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. On your Galaxy Tab, open the Settings app.
  2. Go to “Connected devices” and select “Second Screen.”
  3. Your Tab will enter pairing mode.

Now, on your Galaxy Book, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Second Screen app on your Galaxy Book.
  2. Under the “Available tablets” section, click on your tablet’s name.
  3. Your Galaxy Tab will now function as a second screen for your Galaxy Book.
  4. You can connect multiple tablets and use their touch screens to control Windows OS.

To disconnect the second screen, open the Second Screen app on your Galaxy Book and click on the Disconnect button next to the tablet’s name.

Controlling Galaxy Phone and Tab from Galaxy Book

With the Multi Control feature, you can use your Galaxy Book’s cursor and keyboard to control your Galaxy phone and tablet. Here’s how to set it up:

  1. On your Galaxy Phone or tablet, open the Settings app.
  2. Go to “Connected devices” and enable the toggle for Multi Control.
  3. On your Galaxy Book, open Samsung Settings and go to “Connected devices.”
  4. Make sure the toggle for Multi Control is turned on.
  5. Under the “Connect to” section, select the Galaxy phone or tablet you want to control.
  6. Now you can use your Galaxy Book’s mouse and physical keyboard to control your phone or tablet.

You can also set the Auto connection settings to Always, so your devices will automatically connect when they are nearby and have Multi Control enabled. You can disable Multi Control from the Settings or Notification Panel on your Galaxy phone or tablet.

Streaming Galaxy Phone and Tab Apps to PC

If you have a Windows 10 or 11 PC, you can use the Phone Link app to stream apps from your Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet to your PC. Here’s how:

  1. Link your Samsung phone to your Windows PC using Phone Link.
  2. Open the Phone Link app on your PC.
  3. Click on the Apps tab.
  4. Select the app you want to stream, and it will open in a small window on your PC.
  5. You can also check your recent websites from the Samsung Internet browser on your phone and switch browsing to your PC instantly.

Turning on Mobile Hotspot from the PC

You can turn on your Galaxy phone’s hotspot remotely from your PC using Phone Link. 

Here’s how:

  1. Click on the taskbar icon at the bottom right corner of your PC.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi option.
  3. Choose your phone from the list and click on Connect.
  4. This will automatically enable your phone’s hotspot for your PC to connect to.

Accessing Calls, Messages, and Notifications on PC

With Phone Link, you can access your phone’s calls, messages, and notifications on your PC. 

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Phone Link app.
  2. Click on the Messages or Calls tab to access your messages and calls.
  3. You will also receive notifications on your PC for new messages and calls.
  4. General notifications from your phone can be accessed from the sidebar of the Phone Link app.

If you have a Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Tab connected to the same Samsung account, you will receive notifications about calls and messages on those devices as well. Make sure to enable the feature in the Settings app on your phone under “Connected devices > Call & text on other devices.”

Accessing Photos from a Phone on a PC

You can access the photos stored on your phone from your PC using the Phone Link app. 

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Phone Link app.
  2. Click on the Photos tab to access your photos.
  3. Note that only photos from your Camera roll will appear here, and there might be a short delay before they appear. This feature doesn’t support videos. For instant access to the latest photo or transferring files, try using the Intel Unison app instead.

Charging Galaxy Buds and Watch with Your Phone

If your Samsung Galaxy phone supports wireless power-sharing, you can charge accessories like Galaxy Buds and Watch using your phone. 

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Go to “Battery and device care” > “Battery.”
  3. Look for “Wireless power sharing” and enable it.
  4. Place your Galaxy Buds or compatible devices on the back of your Samsung phone to charge them.
  5. You can also place other phones that support wireless charging at the back of your phone to charge them.

After joining Twitter, Elon Musk has mastered the art of sudden announcements, particularly on Sundays. Lately, he humorously advised people to detach themselves from their phones and spend quality time with their loved ones. Cut to now, the Tesla CEO announced that Twitter would soon be rebranded into “X”, and asked millions of users to prepare themselves to bid farewell to the iconic Blue Bird logo we have come to link with Twitter over the years.

Now, the domain X.com redirects you to the microblogging website Twitter. Hold on, that’s not the only thing he has changed; in the following tweet, he pinned a video on his profile that will likely be the new Twitter logo and in another tweet, he posted the same logo in the form of a text. In short, the day is not far when the domain Twitter.com will be gone, and x.com will replace it.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino called X a second chance to make another big impression as she tweeted, “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

The concept of ‘X’ dates back to 1999 when Musk founded an ambitious venture called http://X.com, which over the years, evolved into what we know today as PayPal. And now, after two decades and more, Elon Musk’s interest in ‘X.com’ resurfaced, leading him to rebrand Twitter as part of his grand plan to transform the micro-blogging platform into a super app.

Since Elon bought Twitter, he has brought many changes to the platform, including a paid verification system, gold ticks for brands, silver ticks for government figures, services such as peer-to-peer transactions as part of his vision for an “everything app” and whatnot. Strange Object on Australian Beach Sparks Chandrayaan-3 Speculation

According to the Australian Space Agency, a massive metal object that appeared on a beach near Jurien Bay in Western Australia might belong to a space launch vehicle from an unidentified country.

The Guardian reported that the copper-coloured cylinder was discovered in a significantly damaged condition, leaning to one side. Images of the cylinder depict weathering and several barnacles adhered to its surface, suggesting prolonged exposure to the ocean.

Initially considering the object as hazardous, the Western Australia police later stated that it had been analyzed by the fire department’s chemistry centre, affirming its safety and ensuring no immediate risk to the community. However, further assessments are required before conclusive determinations can be made.

Science Alert raised the possibility that the rocket component could be linked to the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), specifically its third-stage booster. A comparison between an image of engineers handling the PSLV’s third stage and the washed-up object reveals some resemblance.

Nevertheless, it remains unconfirmed whether the object is indeed part of an Indian launch vehicle, and the Australian Space Agency has not provided explicit confirmation of this possibility. Further investigation is necessary to ascertain the true nature and origin of the object.

Initially expected to fetch around $2,500, it ended up astounding everyone by soaring to a staggering $63,000 in bidding. Surprisingly, even that price doesn’t quite reach the heights of what an original iPhone can fetch.

Recently, an extremely rare and brand-new iPhone 4GB, straight from the factory, appeared on LCG Auctions, valued initially between $50,000 and $100,000. The bidding for the same commenced on 30th June with a modest starting price of $10,000. Slowly but surely, the figure climbed to $42,000, but then, something remarkable occurred.

A short but fierce bidding war erupted in the blink of an eye, resulting in a jaw-dropping winning bid of an astonishing $190,372. Whew! That’s an immense amount of money. Interestingly, this exceeds the prices achieved by the 8GB models. Besides the $63,000 sale from February, another sealed 8GB unit was sold just yesterday, fetching a still-impressive “only” $39,339.

Despite being less popular, why do the 4GB models command higher prices in the collector’s market? LCG Auctions sheds some light on this intriguing phenomenon: “The original 4GB model is considered a ‘Holy Grail’ among iPhone collectors. Its scarcity is directly attributed to its limited production. Released on 29th June 2007, alongside the 8GB model, the 4GB version suffered from slow sales. Buyers opted to pay an additional $100 to double their storage capacity.”

These lacklustre sales led Apple to make the decision to discontinue the 4GB model on 5th September 2007, a mere two months after its initial release. The more affordable, less successful variant now commands prices at auction three to four times higher than its currently famous siblings, some 16 years later.
