Shell India has rolled out an upgraded version of its flagship premium motor oil, Shell Helix Ultra, now certified to meet the 2025 API SQ standard.
The update brings both performance enhancements and a refreshed packaging design as the company positions itself for the next era of mobility.
The new Shell Helix Ultra uses the company’s PurePlus Technology, which means it’s created by converting natural gas into a 99.5% pure base oil.
According to Shell, this translates into measurable benefits that include up to 1.8% more engine power, 3.4% improved responsiveness, and full power retention over time.
The upgrades are designed to support modern engines with stricter efficiency and durability requirements while also improving fuel economy.
Alongside the product update, Shell has introduced new packaging for its Helix range, aimed at clearer product navigation and stronger visibility on shelves.
The redesign also highlights Shell’s OEM partnerships with Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Nissan, and BMW M Motorsports.
To coincide with the launch, Shell has brought its new global campaign ‘Unleash the Power Within’ to India.
Featuring Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, the campaign builds on Shell’s 75-year association with Scuderia Ferrari, one of the longest-running partnerships in motorsport.
The India launch event included a live Ferrari pit stop demonstration and a BMW M Motorsports driving showcase, underscoring Shell’s push to connect its technical innovation with consumer engagement.
Shell has held its position as the world’s No. 1 lubricant supplier for 18 consecutive years, and the new Helix Ultra signals its intention to maintain leadership by aligning with evolving standards and consumer expectations.
