Verdict
The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is a stylish mid-range smartphone featuring an AMOLED display and smooth performance. Its 5500mAh battery with 45W fast charging offers solid endurance, while XOS 15, based on Android 15, enhances the experience with useful AI features. However, it does have drawbacks, such as poor low-light camera performance, heat management issues during gaming, and only an IP64 rating.

Infinix has been making waves in the budget smartphone segment, consistently delivering feature-packed devices at aggressive prices. The Infinix Note 50s 5G+, priced at ₹15,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and ₹17,999 for the 8GB+256GB model, is the latest addition to the Note 50 series, aiming to capture the attention of cost-conscious consumers in 2025. But can it stand out in a crowded mid-range market dominated by competitors like the Poco C71, Vivo T4x, and iQOO Z10x? Let’s find out.
Design and Build
The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ makes a strong first impression with its slim and lightweight design. At just 7.6 mm thick and weighing 180 grams, it stands out as one of the slimmest phones in its category, especially with a curved display. The device feels premium in hand, thanks to its sleek profile and metallic finish on the plastic back and frame. While the matte plastic back helps to get rid from fingerprints and smudges, also there is a case included in the box.

The standout feature of this device is its 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added durability. With a Full-HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits, the screen provides vibrant colours and smooth animations, making it perfect for gaming, streaming, and scrolling through social media. The curved edges add to its premium look, although they may occasionally cause accidental touches. Infinix claims the display covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, ensuring vivid and immersive visuals. However, a minor drawback is the lack of HDR support, as some competitors, like the Realme 14 Pro+, offer HDR10 compatibility.
The Infinix phone features Active Halo lighting, an RGB notification light integrated into the camera module on the back. This LED ring lights up for notifications, incoming calls, charging, gaming, and activating the voice assistant, adding both functionality and style, especially when the phone is placed face down. While the “Gem-Cut” camera module has a visually striking design, it is somewhat bulky and may cause slight wobbling on flat surfaces, although the effect is minimal.

The Note 50s 5G+ is rated IP64 for dust and splash resistance, which makes it great for outdoor use. It can handle some dust and light splashes of water, but it is not meant to be completely submerged in water. Avoid dropping it in liquid to keep it working well.

Performance
The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, a 4nm octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 2.5GHz. It comes with 8GB of RAM and offers up to 256GB of storage, providing impressive performance for its price range. Although the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate is marketed as a distinct chip, it is closely related to the standard Dimensity 7300, delivering solid efficiency and power for mid-range devices. In everyday use, the Note 50s manages multitasking effortlessly, allowing users to switch between multiple apps and browser tabs without any noticeable lag.

In benchmark tests, the Note 50s 5G+ scores approximately 1014 in single-core performance and 1951 in multi-core performance on Geekbench 6. This performance is comparable to competitors such as the Vivo V50 and OPPO Reno 12 Pro. In terms of gaming, the phone performs decently, running titles like BGMI at 40 fps on high settings. However, extended gaming sessions of 15 to 20 minutes caused the device to heat up, resulting in occasional performance throttling. The Mali-G615 MC2 GPU provides reasonable graphics performance but is not designed for high-end gaming at maximum settings.

The Note 50s 5G+ runs on XOS 15, which is based on Android 15. The user interface is responsive, featuring refined animations and minimal bloatware. The device offers several features, including the Dynamic Bar, Infinix’s take on Apple’s Dynamic Island, and a Social Assistant for call recording. It also includes AI-driven functionalities such as the Folax AI Assistant, an AI Wallpaper Generator, and a Smart Translator.
Camera
The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ features a dual-camera setup on the rear, which includes a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. While the secondary sensor adds minimal value, the primary camera performs well in daylight, capturing decent images with good dynamic range and vibrant colours. The AI-enhanced software helps achieve better yet natural-looking shots, although it occasionally intensifies greens and blues for a more dramatic effect.
In low-light conditions, the camera struggles with noticeable noise and softened details. While the dedicated Super Night mode helps improve some scenes, it doesn’t compete with flagship models or even some mid-range alternatives. Additionally, the absence of an ultra-wide lens is a missed opportunity.
The 13MP front camera captures decent selfies with natural skin tones and beautification(though it can be turned ON or OFF), making it suitable for social media and video calls. However, the details are not as rich in low lighting, and the fixed-focus lens limits its functionality.
Battery
The Note 50s 5G+ features a 5500mAh battery, a solid capacity for a slim device. However, it is outperformed by competitors like the iQOO Z10x, which has a 6500mAh battery. In everyday use, the Note 50s 5G+ lasts a full day with moderate usage. With lighter usage, the battery life can extend to nearly two days. In our 4K video test with brightness kept at 75%, the battery only dropped by 6% after 30 minutes, showcasing excellent efficiency for media consumption.

The phone features 45W with FastCharge 3.0, which can fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 64 minutes, which is impressive capability for this price range. The bypass charging mode is a thoughtful addition, as it directs power to the motherboard while gaming, which helps reduce heat and preserve battery health. The phone also supports 10W reverse wired charging, allowing it to power other devices.
