BenQ PD2732U 27-inch Monitor Review: Unmatched Picture Quality for Professionals

For creative professionals, dedicated home office users, and multitaskers, a monitor is no longer just a passive screen; it is the central hub that dictates the entire productivity experience. A display that seamlessly bridges the gap between digital precision and physical print while acting as an all-in-one workstation can greatly streamline daily workflows, reduce eye strain, and improve posture. BenQ aims to deliver exactly this level of professional integration with the PD2732U, a 27-inch 4K Creative Pro monitor designed specifically to eliminate the need for multiple specialized displays. Priced at ₹74,499, it promises wide colour-space coverage, hardware-level calibration, and robust modern connectivity for creators who jump between diverse mediums. But does it truly elevate the desktop experience, and is this the best monitor in its premium class? Let’s find out.

    Design & Build

When it comes to outfitting a professional workspace, ergonomics and visual aesthetics play a critical role, and the BenQ PD2732U executes this beautifully. The monitor sports BenQ’s familiar, premium design language, with a sleek, professional aesthetic and robust build quality that feels fully justified by its price tag. The display is securely supported by an adaptable and robust monitor arm, along with an ergonomic stand. It allows extensive adjustments, including ample height and tilt, so you can find the perfect viewing angle and prevent neck strain during long editing or coding sessions. Crucially, the monitor arm can help the monitor rotate to a 90-degree angle, giving a perfect portrait-style view. This vertical orientation is invaluable for software developers writing code, writers reviewing long-form documents, or social media managers editing vertical video formats.

The display itself features a specialized Nano Matte Black Panel, intentionally engineered to minimize ambient light reflections. This anti-glare treatment effectively preserves visual contrast and tonal accuracy, delivering deeper blacks and clear tonal separation while greatly enhancing eye comfort in brightly lit studios or offices with large windows.

A standout inclusion in the box is the Wireless Hotkey Puck G3. It sits neatly on your desk as a dedicated wireless controller, letting you switch colour profiles, adjust brightness, navigate the on-screen display (OSD) menus, or toggle inputs with one click. It feels tactile and makes switching between workflows effortless, though it requires batteries, a minor inconvenience if you prefer built-in rechargeable peripherals.

    Performance & Picture Quality

The defining feature of any creative monitor is its panel, and the 27-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS display on the PD2732U is genuinely exceptional. At 27 inches, the 4K resolution provides excellent pixel density, resulting in incredibly sharp text, crisp UI elements, and highly detailed image rendering. The colours are vivid, accurate, and meticulously tuned out of the box. Leveraging BenQ’s proprietary AQCOLOR technology, the display covers an impressive 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space for print-focused workflows, alongside 99% Display P3, 100% sRGB, and 100% Rec. 709 for digital media, web, and video production.

This broad colour coverage ensures what you see on screen matches what you produce in the final deliverable. The monitor is factory-calibrated to achieve an average Delta E ≤ 2, meaning colour inaccuracies are virtually imperceptible to the human eye. It also carries industry-standard certifications, including Pantone Validated, Pantone SkinTone Validated, and Calman Verified. BenQ’s Uniformity Technology also plays a vital role, intelligently dividing the screen into hundreds of sub-regions to eliminate distracting brightness or colour variance across the panel. For Apple ecosystem users, BenQ includes a dedicated M-Book mode that perfectly matches the visual output of a MacBook display, ensuring seamless transitions when using the monitor as an extended screen.

On the performance front, the PD2732U acts as a complete productivity hub. It features cutting-edge Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, delivering up to 40 Gbps data transfer speeds and 90W of power delivery over a single cable. This lets you connect and charge a modern high-performance laptop while transmitting high-bandwidth video and data, drastically reducing cable clutter on your desk. It even supports daisy-chaining for multi-monitor setups. For users managing multiple devices, the integrated KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switch is a game-changer. It lets you control two distinct computer systems, such as a Mac and a Windows PC with one keyboard and mouse, seamlessly toggling between them via the Hotkey Puck.

While the display features a standard 60Hz refresh rate and a 5ms pixel response time, which is perfectly suited for colour-critical work rather than high-frame-rate gaming, it does support HDR10. However, it lacks advanced local dimming hardware, meaning true HDR performance is relatively limited compared to specialized entertainment displays.

    Verdict

The BenQ 27-inch PD2732U is an exceptional professional display that meets modern creators’ needs with outstanding colour accuracy, extensive gamut coverage, and an ergonomic design that supports portrait mode. It features Thunderbolt 4 and an integrated KVM switch, making it ideal for multi-device workflows. While its HDR capabilities are modest and the wireless Hotkey Puck uses disposable AAA batteries, these are minor drawbacks compared to its overall performance. Priced at ₹74,499, it may not be the cheapest 4K monitor, but for professionals in photography, videography, and design, it is a worthwhile investment that enhances colour confidence and workflow integration.
