    Over All Rating 5/5

    Price Starts From  ₹ 16,900/-

    PROS 👍

    • IP67 waterproof and dust-proof
    • Good Battery life
    • USB-C Audio and Charging

    CONS 👎

    • No 3.5mm jack
    • Slight heavy comapred to size

The Beats Pill first debuted in 2012 and has seen several iterations over the years. The latest version has undergone a significant redesign in terms of aesthetics and performance. This new model embraces a more modern look and packs improved audio capabilities, making it more competitive in today’s crowded portable speaker market. The redesign focuses on enhanced durability, richer sound quality, and seamless connectivity. Is it truly the best speaker in the market? Let’s explore.

Beats Pill Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

    Build Quality

The updated Beats Pill features a sleek, minimalist design that aligns with current trends in consumer electronics. The design resembles a Pill shape but with much refinement over its predecessor. The build is more robust than its predecessors, featuring a durable exterior made from high-quality plastics coated with soft rubber and a metal grille for speakers. The speaker is slightly larger than earlier models but remains lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry around. It also has a durable lanyard that can be used to carry around. The pill-shaped design, which the line is named after, has been refined with smoother edges, and the button has a more tactile feel.

When the speaker is placed flat on the table, it is designed to tilt the sound speakers 20 degrees upwards. This directional feature is intended to direct sound waves toward your head while also moving them away from any possible obstacles that could interfere with the audio quality.

The front grille is made of a rigid metal mesh that protects the drivers underneath, allowing sound to pass through without distortion. The buttons are well-integrated into the design, offering a satisfying click without being too obtrusive. The new model also features an IP67 water-resistant rating, providing peace of mind when using the speaker outdoors or near water.

    Sound Quality

One of the standout features of the redesigned Beats Pill is its improved sound quality. Beats has traditionally been known for its bass-heavy audio signature, and this latest model stays true to that legacy while introducing better balance across the frequency range. The low-end is punchy and deep, making it ideal for genres like hip-hop, EDM, and pop.

The speaker performs excellently at low and high volumes, with minimal distortion even at maximum levels. The overall soundstage is wide, giving a more immersive listening experience. For a portable speaker of its size, the Beats Pill delivers impressive audio quality that can easily fill a room or outdoor space.

    Connectivity

The latest Beats Pill model offers a variety of connectivity options, making it easy to use with a range of devices. It supports Bluetooth 5.3, which provides a stable connection and longer range. Pairing on both iOS and Android is seamless. When you bring your mobile near the speaker for the first time, an option to connect quickly pops up. iOS users can access all settings directly from the Mobile settings menu, while Android users need to download an app to customize. Additionally, the speaker has a USB-C input, which can be used to charge the speaker and can be connected to your laptop for a wired speaker connection, catering to users who prefer to listen to lossless audio via a direct connection. These features are rare to see in a Bluetooth speaker.

One of the most exciting features of this model is its ability to pair with another Beats Pill for stereo sound. This feature enhances the listening experience by creating a more dynamic and immersive audio environment, especially when using the speakers in a larger space. Pairing two speakers is a straightforward process, and once connected, they provide true left-right stereo separation, adding depth and clarity to your music.

    Verdict

The new Beats Pill is a strong competitor in the portable Bluetooth speaker market, offering a combination of style, durability, and impressive sound quality. The updated design is more modern and appealing, while the improved audio performance ensures that it can meet the needs of audiophiles. Overall, the Beats Pill is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a portable speaker that delivers outstanding sound quality and durability. It’s particularly well-suited for users who enjoy bass-heavy music and want the ability to connect multiple speakers for a more immersive experience. While it may not be the most affordable option, its blend of design, durability, and audio performance makes it a worthwhile consideration.
