To mark International Museum Day, the Mahindra Group has once again opened the doors to its unique ‘Museum of Living History’ at Mahindra Towers in Worli, Mumbai. A celebration of the company’s legacy, this space goes far beyond just preserving history.

Launched in July 2022, the museum was envisioned as a living, evolving narrative of Mahindra’s 81-year journey, connecting the Group’s rich heritage with its present-day identity and future ambitions. Unlike conventional museums, the Museum of Living History is designed as a constantly transforming space that reflects the organisation’s philosophy, culture, and people through immersive storytelling, commissioned artworks, curated films, and personal narratives.

Speaking about the initiative, Anand Mahindra said the museum continues to evolve alongside the Group’s changing business and cultural landscape while staying rooted in its core values and philosophy.

Conceptualised by creative consultant Elsie Nanji and experience designer Harsh Manrao, the museum’s architecture draws inspiration from the nautilus shell, symbolising growth, renewal, and expansion. Inside, visitors are greeted with futuristic lighting, textured installations, and exhibits that chronicle Mahindra’s evolution alongside India’s own development story.

Recent additions include a ‘Culture Wall’ celebrating the Group’s contribution to India’s music scene through the Mahindra Season of Festivals initiative, along with installations interpreting Mahindra’s refreshed Rise values.

At its core, the museum places emphasis on people-driven stories rather than personalities, showcasing narratives of resilience, ethics, innovation, and community impact that have shaped the organisation over eight decades.

Open to the public free of cost through prior registration, the museum attracts nearly 900 to 1,000 visitors every month, including students, professionals, families, and institutions seeking a deeper understanding of the Mahindra legacy.
