Elon Musk-led SpaceX is preparing to bring its satellite internet service, Starlink, to India, and the company has now revealed the pricing for its residential plan. As part of its upcoming launch strategy, Starlink has also disclosed key service features and signaled its expansion plans across multiple Indian cities. Starlink Residential Plan Price and Hardware Cost in India According to updated details on the official Starlink India website, the company will charge Rs. 8,600 per month for its residential satellite internet service in India. Along with the subscription, users will need to purchase Starlink’s hardware kit priced at Rs. 34,000. The residential plan offers: Unlimited high-speed data A 30-day trial period Plug-and-play setup for easy installation Promised 99.9 percent uptime Stable performance in all weather conditions Starlink is positioning its service as a reliable internet solution, especially for users in remote and underserved regions of the country. However, pricing for the business subscription plan has not yet been revealed and is expected to be announced soon. Starlink Expands India Operations With New Job Openings As part of its India expansion, Starlink recently listed four job openings for its upcoming Bengaluru office on LinkedIn. The company is hiring for key positions including: Payments Manager Accounting Manager Senior Treasury Analyst Tax Manager These roles highlight Starlink’s preparation for full-scale commercial operations in India and its broader plan to strengthen its international presence. Gateway Earth Stations Planned Across Multiple Indian Cities Recent reports suggest that Starlink is planning to establish gateway earth stations in several strategic locations across India. The proposed cities include: Chandigarh Hyderabad Kolkata Lucknow Mumbai Noida These stations will act as communication relay hubs between Starlink’s satellites and user terminals on the ground, ensuring seamless and stable connectivity. Government Approval and Launch Timeline Earlier this year, in July, SpaceX reportedly secured a five-year license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to operate its satellite communication services in India. This approval clears a major regulatory hurdle and brings Starlink closer to officially launching its commercial services in the country. With pricing now public and infrastructure plans underway, Starlink’s India debut appears imminent. The service is expected to significantly boost internet access in rural and hard-to-reach areas, offering a new alternative to traditional broadband and mobile networks.
