Amazon Launches Third-Generation Echo Show 5 in India

Amazon has officially launched the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display featuring Alexa in India. This new model boasts a compact 5.5-inch smart display and a built-in camera, making it ideal for home monitoring and smart home controls.

The Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) promises improved sound quality, offering double the bass and clearer vocals compared to its predecessor. It is designed to help users manage compatible smart home appliances, including security cameras and video doorbells, while also allowing for the quick viewing of to-do lists, calendars, and hands-free music playback, all enabled by Alexa.

Available in two colours, Charcoal and Cloud Blue, the new device is priced at ₹10,999 and can be purchased through Amazon.in, Flipkart, and select offline stores such as Reliance Digital and Croma.

The Echo Show 5 features a refreshed design that includes rounded edges and an infinity cover glass on the display. Its improved user interface enhances the viewing experience, even in low light, allowing users to quickly access weather updates and manage smart home devices or compatible security camera video feeds.

The device’s upgraded speaker system ensures high-quality sound, making it suitable for various entertainment needs. Users can stream movies and TV shows from Amazon Prime Video (subscription fees may apply) or access workout and music videos through a browser.

Home Monitoring and Connectivity

Equipped with a built-in camera, the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) enables users to monitor their homes remotely using the ‘Drop In’ feature. With the capability to connect to compatible security cameras and video doorbells, users can view video feeds directly on the screen. The camera also facilitates video calls with friends and family who have Echo devices with screens or the Alexa app.

Enhanced Audio Experience

This latest version of the Echo Show 5 features a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker that enhances audio enjoyment, delivering superior sound quality for music, podcasts, and audiobooks. With support for services like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn, users can easily request songs or jump into audiobooks from Audible (subscription fees may apply). The device also supports multi-room music, allowing for synchronized playback across various Echo devices.
