Dyson has unveiled its latest innovation, the Dyson WashG1, marking the company’s first dedicated cord-free wet floor cleaner. Engineered for hygienic cleaning and maintenance, the Dyson WashG1 is designed to tackle both wet and dry debris in one go, leaving floors with a barefoot clean feel. With a 1-litre clean-water tank, this revolutionary wet floor cleaner utilizes a combination of hydration, absorption, and extraction technologies to automatically separate wet and dry debris, ensuring a more hygienic cleaning experience. Moreover, it covers an impressive 3100 square feet on a single charge.
Charlie Park, Vice President of Dyson Home Engineering at Dyson, emphasized the importance of wet cleaning, stating, “Cleaning with water is essential to rehydrate and remove tough, dried-on stains. Over the years, a vast array of wet floor cleaning formats has emerged to help us tackle this chore, yet user’s expectations are often left unfulfilled when it comes to stain removal, pick-up performance, and floor finish. Dyson engineers solve the problems others ignore and we thrive on the challenge of creating better technology. The Dyson WashG1 is the result of this; our first dedicated wet machine to wash hard floors, properly and hygienically.”
The Dyson WashG1 has highly absorbent, counter-rotating rollers that ensure efficient cleaning. These two individually powered rollers counter-rotate while a pulse-modulated pump distributes water evenly across 26 precisely positioned hydration points. Each roller, made up of highly absorbent microfiber with 64,800 filaments per cm, effectively absorbs liquid spills and envelops dry dirt, debris, and hair, ensuring a thorough cleaning process.
What sets the Dyson WashG1 apart is its separation technology for hygienic maintenance. This unique feature divides debris and dirty water at the source, facilitating hygienic, no-touch disposal. Moreover, the machine’s customized hydration control allows users to select the level of hydration based on debris type, flooring, or personal preference, providing complete control over the cleaning process.
The Dyson WashG1 also demonstrated remarkable manoeuvrability and edge-to-edge cleaning, thanks to its full-width rollers and two motors that clean in both directions. The low cleaner head height also allows for easy reach underneath furniture, while the casters provide balance and weight support.
