FUJIFILM India has announced the launch of its latest model in the X Series, the “X half” (Model name: FUJIFILM X-HF1), a compact digital camera designed to leverage FUJIFILM’s renowned colour reproduction technology. This new addition aims to deliver exceptional image quality in a lightweight format, echoing the spirit of half-frame cameras and offering innovative photographic experiences.
Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, expressed enthusiasm regarding the launch, emphasizing the company’s commitment to innovation. “At FUJIFILM India, we aim to create products that bring joy and smiles to the world. The ‘X half’ is not merely a product launch but a celebration of visual storytelling, promising to spark a renewed interest in photography across different generations.”
Mr. Arun Babu, Associate Director & Head of Digital Camera, instax & Optical Devices Business at FUJIFILM India, highlighted the camera’s role as a tool for self-expression. The “X half” features an intuitive design, various film simulations, and functional modes like 2-in-1 compositions and Film Camera Mode, encouraging users to engage more thoughtfully with their photography.
Key features of the “X half” include a rear LCD monitor designed for vertical composition, allowing users to capture vertical images and record videos in a 3:4 aspect ratio. The innovative “2-in-1” feature enables users to combine two still images or videos into a single composition in-camera, enhancing storytelling capabilities.
The camera’s optical viewfinder is designed to evoke the experience of film photography, enhancing its rendering capabilities. It includes popular “Film Simulation” and “Grain Effect” features, which replicate the distinctive grain texture of film photos, as well as new filters, such as light leak and halation, for creative expression.

Weighing only 240 grams and boasting a compact design, the “X half” is both portable and user-friendly, enabling users to capture moments anytime and anywhere. The new dedicated “X half app” offers options for viewing, sharing, and printing. Users can transfer images and videos to their mobile devices via Bluetooth and send them to compatible instax printers.
The “Film Camera Mode” aims to recreate the excitement of shooting with traditional film cameras, allowing users to experience elements such as pulling a frame advance lever after each shot and digitally developing images through the app.
