FUJIFILM has announced the launch of the Fujifilm GFX100RF, marking an important addition to the GFX Series as it introduces the first fixed-lens digital camera in the lineup. The camera features a 102-megapixel high-speed sensor, specifically the GFX 102MP CMOS II, paired with the latest image processing engine, the ‘X-Processor 5.’ With a weight of approximately 735 grams, the GFX100RF is noted for being the lightest in the GFX Series, allowing for a high-quality shooting experience for a broader range of users.
One of the standout features of this new camera is the inclusion of an ‘Aspect Ratio Dial.’ This innovative dial allows users to switch between nine different shooting formats, leveraging Fujifilm’s extensive experience in photographic film and analog cameras. The tactile experience of the dial enhances the shooting process, providing flexibility to match aspect ratios with subjects and creative intentions.
Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, expressed his enthusiasm for the product, stating, “At FUJIFILM India, we are committed to delivering innovative products and solutions that embody our Group purpose of ‘Giving Our World More Smiles.’ By blending diverse ideas, unique capabilities, and extraordinary people, we aim to create solutions that bring joy and smiles to the world. With the launch of the GFX100RF, we are making the unmatched quality of large format photography more accessible than ever.”
Furthermore, Mr. Arun Babu, Associate Director & Head of Digital Camera, instax & Optical Devices Business at FUJIFILM India, described the GFX100RF as a game-changer. He highlighted its lightweight design, AI-powered autofocus, and user-friendly interface, all contributing to a redefined experience in fixed-lens photography. According to Babu, “Whether you’re a professional or an enthusiast, the GFX100RF opens new creative possibilities with its unique aspect ratio dial and intuitive design.”
The camera also features a precisely machined aluminum top plate, with similar attention to detail applied to various components, including the lens ring, dials, and bottom plate. This meticulous craftsmanship improves the overall feel and design coherence, enhancing the user experience.
In addition, the newly developed 35mm F4 lens (equivalent to 28mm in 35mm format) provides a versatile field of view, while advanced AI-based subject detection autofocus ensures high performance across different shooting scenarios, from casual photography to professional reporting.
Fujifilm’s latest offering, the GFX100RF, will be available in key markets starting at ₹5,49,999.
