Oakter Launches Affordable Studio AC 5000 for Urban Homes

Oakter has introduced its latest product, the Studio AC 5000, aimed at providing an economic and compact air conditioning solution for modern urban households. Priced at ₹15,500, the new air conditioner is available for purchase on major online platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart, positioning it as one of the most affordable options in India’s online air conditioning market.

Designed for small to mid-sized rooms of up to 75 square feet, the Studio AC 5000 boasts a cooling capacity of up to 1550W (0.5 tons) with a notably low maximum power consumption of just 450 watts per hour. This makes it significantly more efficient than conventional 1-ton air conditioners while delivering a better performance compared to standard desert coolers. It can operate at 230V using a standard 6A socket, negating the need for specialized electrical installations.

Weighing in at only 18.5 kg, the Studio AC 5000 is considerably lighter than typical 1.5-ton window air conditioners, which usually weigh around 50 kg. Its portable design facilitates easy installation; the unit features a plug-and-play DIY design that usually does not require a technician, although a carpenter may be needed to create a sealed opening for proper placement. The air conditioner has compact dimensions of 35D x 41W x 30H cm and is presented in a sleek white finish, making it suitable for various modern living spaces.

Shishir Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of Oakter, stated, “Air conditioners in India have traditionally been bulky, expensive, and power-hungry, while coolers, though affordable, compromise on performance. With the Studio AC 5000, we aimed to create a category-defining product that is light, efficient, water-smart, and easy to install. It is designed for the new generation of Indian consumers who seek smart, practical, and sustainable solutions for everyday living.”

In addition to its efficient cooling capabilities, the Studio AC 5000 features a condensation reuse system that reduces water wastage by recycling condensate to enhance cooling efficiency. This system aims to minimize dripping during humid conditions and ensures reliable performance in both dry and moist climates. The air conditioner operates at a noise level of just 57.6 dB, providing a comfortable environment without disruptive sound.
