Meta has officially launched its Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI glasses in India, expanding its smart eyewear lineup with improved performance, upgraded video recording, and more design choices. First introduced globally in September, the second-generation model builds on the original Ray-Ban Meta glasses with better battery life and new India-focused features.

Alongside the Ray-Ban lineup, Meta has also brought the Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses to India. Positioned as a tougher, sport-ready alternative, the Oakley model is designed for athletes and users who prefer more durable, impact-friendly eyewear.

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI Glasses: Price and Availability in India

    • Starting price: ₹39,900
    • Where to buy: Available on the Ray-Ban India website, select retail outlets, and major online platforms.

The Gen 2 collection continues the popular Wayfarer, Skyler, and Headliner designs, while introducing new seasonal shades such as Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet, and Shiny Asteroid Grey.

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) AI Glasses: Key Features

    1. Longer Battery Life

Meta claims the Gen 2 glasses can deliver up to eight hours of typical use, almost double the runtime of the first-generation version.

    • A 20-minute fast charge boosts the battery to roughly 50%.
    • The upgraded charging case offers up to 48 hours of additional power, making it easier to use the glasses on the go.

    2. Enhanced Video Recording

The second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses bring major upgrades to content capture, including:

    • 3K Ultra HD video recording with ultrawide HDR
    • Up to 60fps high-frame-rate recording
    • New modes like hyperlapse and slow motion

Ideal for creators who want hands-free, POV-style shooting.

    3. India-Specific Features

To improve usability for Indian consumers, Meta has added several localised enhancements:

    • Hindi language support for Meta AI via the Meta View app
    • Celebrity AI voice, including Deepika Padukone’s voice in English
    • UPI QR-code payment (under testing): Users will be able to look at a QR code and say
“Hey Meta, scan and pay” to complete a UPI Lite payment through their WhatsApp-linked bank account

Oakley Meta HSTN AI Glasses Also Launch in India

Meta has also introduced the rugged Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses, designed for sports and outdoor-heavy use cases. With a more durable build, they target users who want AI-assisted features in a sturdy, performance-focused eyewear design.
