Google has just rolled out a powerful new upgrade for its Gemini AI assistant scheduled actions. This new feature lets Gemini Pro and Ultra subscribers schedule tasks in advance, making the assistant even more useful for everyday productivity.
What Are Scheduled Actions in Gemini?
With scheduled actions, users can now instruct Gemini to perform specific tasks at certain times just like a real personal assistant. For instance, you can:
- Ask Gemini to give you a daily summary of your calendar every evening.
- Have it generate new blog post ideas every Monday morning.
- Get a recap of an event or award show the day after it takes place.
Whether it’s a recurring reminder or a one-time update, Gemini will handle it without you having to ask again.
“Just tell Gemini what you need and when, and it will take care of the rest,” Google says in its announcement.

How to Set It Up
Users can access and manage these tasks by heading to the “Scheduled Actions” page in the Gemini app’s settings. The feature was first spotted in testing back in April, but it’s now available for all Pro and Ultra subscribers.
This update signals Google’s push to make Gemini more than just a chatbot as it’s evolving into a true AI-powered assistant capable of planning and executing tasks in the background.
Competing With ChatGPT
The move brings Gemini in closer competition with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which also allows paid users to set reminders and create recurring tasks through its assistant features. As AI tools grow smarter, features like these are shaping the future of digital productivity.
