Apple is gearing up to roll out the iOS 26.2 stable update next month, bringing another wave of enhancements following the feature-packed iOS 26.1 release. The previous update introduced transparency controls for system UI, wider language support for Apple Intelligence, a new Local Capture setting, and more. With iOS 26.2, Apple is expected to refine user experience further with new tools, performance upgrades, and app improvements.

Below is a detailed look at everything users can expect from iOS 26.2, along with the full list of supported iPhone models.

iOS 26.2: Expected Features and Upgrades

    1. Single-Use AirDrop Codes

iOS 26.2 is set to introduce a temporary AirDrop code that can be shared with people outside your contacts. Once exchanged, both devices can transfer files via AirDrop for up to 30 days, making cross-contact sharing safer and easier.

    2. Enhanced Liquid Glass Lock Screen

Apple is refining the Liquid Glass customization introduced earlier. The new update brings a more detailed transparency slider, allowing users to fine-tune clock visibility directly from the Lock Screen.

    3. Smarter Sleep Score in Health App

The Health app will adopt updated scoring thresholds, providing more accurate, personalized, and granular Sleep Score results, helping users better understand their nightly rest.

    4. Messages Update for CarPlay

CarPlay will now let users disable pinned conversations in Messages, giving more control over how chats appear while driving.

    5. New Urgent Alerts in Reminders

Users can mark time-based reminders as Urgent, triggering:

    • An alarm similar to a wake-up alert
    • A 9-minute snooze
    • A Live Activities banner that stays active until the task is completed

    6. Smarter Apple Podcasts Experience

Powered by Apple Intelligence, Podcasts will soon support:

    • Automatic chapters
    • Episode mentions
    • A new “From This Episode” section to quickly access topics or links referenced during the show

    7. Tables in Freeform

Freeform will introduce table support, giving users a more structured way to organize content, similar to the Notes app.

    8. Improvements to the Apple Games App

    • New library filters
    • Improved Bluetooth controller navigation
    • Live challenge score updates

This will make browsing and tracking progress more intuitive.

    9. Offline Lyrics in Apple Music

Users will finally be able to view lyrics offline, making the listening experience more seamless.

    10. Refreshed Apple News Layout

Apple News will get a cleaner interface with:

    • More content surfacing on the Today tab
    • Quick links for faster navigation
    • A redesigned navigation bar featuring a new Following tab
