iPhone 17 Air: What Can We Expect?

Apple is expected to reveal the new iPhone 17 series in 6 months. While we are set to witness a standard, Pro, and a Pro Max model, the company is also expected to launch a new Air version alongside the iPhone 17 series in 2025.

Leaked Information About iPhone 17 Air

Fortunately, most of the information regarding the iPhone 17 Air has already leaked on the web, and we have a pretty clear idea of what the device will look like.

    Ultra-Slim Design

One of the most intriguing aspects of the iPhone 17 Air will probably be its design. Leaked renders indicate that it will feature an ultra-slim body, with thickness between 5.5mm and 6mm.

    Single Rear Camera Setup

The single camera on the back will probably not have the optical zoom features of other iPhone devices, and the front camera resolution, as well as speaker quality, may also be compromised. The device is expected to be powered by the base A19 chip, contrary to the A19 Pro used in high-end devices.

One of the most apparent features revealed in the renders includes the rear camera setup. Contrary to Apple’s other models featuring more than one rear camera, the iPhone 17 Air is said to boast a single (48-megapixel) rear camera in a large, wide rectangular camera bar. Interestingly, the rear module is very protruding even with just one camera at the rear.

    Design Changes from Previous Reports

Also worth mentioning is the fact that the design is a deviation from the earlier reports where there was speculation about a top-centred placement of the cameras. Even though the variation, the new design would provide a new face for the iPhone series. Also, Apple is not doing this for the first time.

Apple’s Strategy with iPhone 17 Air

Although its default, Pro, and Pro Max iPhone versions have served the company largely, Apple’s previous efforts in the iPhone mini and iPhone Plus models have not been greatly successful. With the iPhone 17 Air, Apple may be going for a unique device with a different, extremely thin design, even if it costs them some premium features.

    Display Size Comparison

The leaks also indicate that the iPhone 17 Air may have a 6.6-inch to 6.7-inch screen, which would mean the phone could have a bigger screen than the iPhone 17 phone but smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. For your information, the default version is purported to feature a 6.3-inch panel, while the Max model may feature a 6.9-inch screen.

    Expected Launch Date

According to leaks, we can expect to see the release of the new iPhone 17 Air at Apple’s 2025 iPhone 17 event, which will occur in September.
