Logitech Unveils Signature Slim Solar+ Keyboard, Powered Entirely by Light

Logitech has announced its newest addition to the Signature lineup, the Signature Slim Solar+ K980, a wireless keyboard aimed at offering uninterrupted power by harnessing any available light source. Whether it’s sunlight streaming through a window or the glow of indoor lamps, the keyboard charges continuously thanks to Logitech’s proprietary Logi LightCharge technology, eliminating cables, charging anxiety, and setup hassles.

The company says the goal behind Solar+ is to simplify everyday workflows. While wireless accessories offer freedom from tangled cables, their Achilles’ heel has always been the need for frequent charging. Logitech claims the new keyboard tackles that problem head-on. Once powered, it can reportedly run up to four months in complete darkness, allowing users to forget about battery levels entirely and focus on their work.

“Even the need to think about charging can be a distraction,” said Art O’Gnimh, General Manager of Logitech’s Core Products Group. “Signature Slim Solar+ stays powered by light — any light — clearing your desk of cables and eliminating the need to ever physically charge it.”

    Sustainability at Its Core

Logitech continues its sustainability push with the Solar+ series. The graphite model uses 70% certified post-consumer recycled plastic, and the built-in rechargeable battery is engineered to last up to 10 years. The company says these choices reduce environmental impact while extending product longevity.

    Designed for Modern Workflows

Beyond its solar-powered capabilities, the Signature Slim Solar+ offers a familiar and comfortable laptop-style typing experience, complete with scissor-switch keys and a full-size layout. It also works seamlessly across multiple operating systems and can switch between three devices using Logitech’s Easy-Switch keys.
Through the Logi Options+ software, users can customise actions, automate routines, and instantly access

AI tools like Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT with the dedicated AI Launch Key. With its minimalist design, long-lasting battery system, and emphasis on sustainability, the Signature Slim Solar+ positions itself as a clutter-free, future-ready keyboard for modern workspaces.
