London-based tech brand Nothing has announced that its upcoming smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3a Series, is now being produced in India. This move highlights the company’s commitment to utilizing India’s strong manufacturing ecosystem while boosting the local economy and supporting technological progress.

Nothing Phone 3a Production in India

Nothing has significantly contributed to job creation in the country, employing over 500 workers at its Chennai factory. Notably, 95% of the workforce consists of women, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to local production. With its expanding operations in India, Nothing continues to support the ‘Make in India’ initiative, further increasing employment opportunities.

    Nothing’s Growth in India

This announcement aligns with Nothing’s strong growth in the Indian smartphone market. As per Counterpoint Research’s Monthly India Smartphone Tracker, the company witnessed an impressive 577% year-over-year growth in 2024, primarily driven by the success of the Nothing Phone 2a Series and its sub-brand, CMF by Nothing. Additionally, the brand recently surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue, a remarkable feat achieved just four years after its launch in October 2020.

Enhanced After-Sales Support & Retail Expansion

Nothing is continuously strengthening its after-sales service network in India. The brand now operates five exclusive service centers in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Alongside this, Nothing has established five priority desks and expanded its reach to 300 multi-brand service centers.

The company has also grown its retail presence significantly, increasing from 2,000 stores in early 2023 to 7,000 stores today. This expansion reflects Nothing’s growing influence in the Indian smartphone market.

    Nothing 3a coming soon.

Nothing Phone 3a: British Design Meets Indian Manufacturing

The Nothing Phone 3a Series is designed in London and manufactured in India, combining British innovation with India’s advanced production capabilities. It is set to replace the Nothing Phone 2a lineup, which launched last year.

    About Nothing

Founded in 2020, Nothing aims to bring excitement back to technology. Its first smartphone, the Phone (1), received Time Magazine’s Best Inventions for Innovative Smartphone Design award. Over the years, Nothing has introduced a diverse range of tech products, including five smartphones, five audio devices, and two smart wearables, selling over 7 million units globally.

With a community-driven approach, Nothing collaborates with over 8,000 private investors to develop its products, prioritizing sustainability in the design process.

Nothing Phone 3a Series: Expected Specifications & Launch Details

The Nothing Phone 3a Series is expected to feature two models:

    • Nothing Phone 3a
    • Nothing Phone 3a Pro (Details yet to be confirmed)

Key specifications of the Nothing Phone 3a include:

    • Display: 6.8-inch AMOLED screen
    • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset
    • Battery: 5,000mAh with 45W fast charging
    • Cameras:
      • 50MP main camera
      • 50MP telephoto lens
      • 32MP selfie camera

Interestingly, the Nothing Phone 3a might include a dedicated camera button, allowing users to quickly launch the camera, similar to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series.

Nothing Phone 3a Launch & Availability in India

The Nothing Phone 3a Series is scheduled to launch on March 4, 2025, and will be available for purchase via Flipkart and select retail stores across India.

With its unique design, powerful features, and local manufacturing, the Nothing Phone 3a is expected to make a strong impact in the Indian smartphone market.
