Reliance and Google Partner to Offer Free Gemini AI Access for Jio 5G Users

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced a major partnership with Google to bring free access to its advanced Gemini Pro AI platform for eligible Jio 5G subscribers across India. The initiative, set to roll out on October 30, 2025, aims to make artificial intelligence more accessible to young users and creators in the country.

Free Gemini AI Access for Jio 5G Users

Under this partnership, Reliance’s subsidiary Reliance Intelligence will enable free access to Google Gemini Pro for 18 months. The offer is initially available to Jio users aged 18–25 years who are on unlimited 5G plans. This move is part of Reliance’s broader vision to make India an AI-empowered digital economy.

Earlier this year, Airtel had collaborated with Perplexity AI to offer its users free access to Perplexity Pro for 12 months. Now, with Jio’s tie-up with Google, the race to dominate India’s AI ecosystem has reached a new level giving millions of users access to premium AI tools at no cost.

What’s Included in the Jio-Google Gemini Offer?

The complimentary Gemini Pro subscription worth ₹35,100 offers a host of powerful AI tools and features:

    • Access to Google Gemini 2.5 Pro – Google’s latest multimodal AI model
    • 2TB of Google Cloud Storage for seamless data backup and collaboration
    • Nano Banana – Google’s image generation platform for creators
    • Veo 3.1 – Google’s AI-driven video creation tool
    • NotebookLM – Google’s AI research and writing assistant

Eligible Jio users can activate the offer via the MyJio app by selecting the “Claim Now” option. Current Gemini subscribers can switch to the Jio-backed free plan once their existing subscription ends.

    Empowering India’s AI Future

Commenting on the collaboration, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, said:

“Through our collaboration with long-term partners like Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AI-empowered where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate, and grow.”

Adding to that, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said:

“Today’s announcement will put Google’s cutting-edge AI tools in the hands of consumers, businesses, and India’s vibrant developer community. I’m excited for how this partnership will expand access to AI across India.”

    Expanding AI Access in India

With tech giants like Google, Reliance, and OpenAI investing heavily in India’s AI landscape, the country is quickly becoming one of the world’s largest markets for generative AI adoption. Earlier this year, OpenAI also offered ChatGPT Go free to Indian users for one year, a move that aligns with the growing emphasis on AI accessibility and education.

The Jio-Google Gemini partnership not only enhances the value of Jio’s 5G ecosystem but also strengthens India’s position as a hub for AI innovation and digital transformation.
