Qualcomm Brings Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 4 Gen 5 to India With Smoother Gaming, Faster Apps, and Better 5G

At its annual Snapdragon for India event, Qualcomm has introduced the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 mobile platforms, bringing upgraded performance, gaming, AI imaging, and connectivity features to the mid-range smartphone segment.

The two chipsets are designed to improve everyday smartphone experiences while making premium mobile features more accessible. One of the headline additions is Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI, a feature aimed at delivering smoother navigation and reduced lag during regular use. Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 offers 20 percent faster app launches and 18 percent less screen stutter compared to the previous generation, while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 promises 43 percent faster app launches and 25 percent reduced screen stutter.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 platform focuses on users seeking stronger gaming and multimedia performance. It introduces the Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for sustained gaming sessions and delivers up to 21 percent better GPU performance. The platform also supports ultra-fast 5G and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity alongside AI-powered camera enhancements.

Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 aims to elevate entry and mid-range smartphones with a major graphics boost. Qualcomm says the chipset delivers up to 77 percent improved GPU performance and introduces 90FPS gaming to the Snapdragon 4-series for the first time. It also supports Dual SIM Dual Active 5G connectivity for uninterrupted network access.

Qualcomm also announced the arrival of Snapdragon Sound in India through a partnership with Nirvana by boAt. The first product under this collaboration, the Nirvana Eutopia 2 Pro, aims to bring low-latency, high-fidelity wireless audio experiences to Indian consumers.

Upcoming smartphones powered by the new Snapdragon platforms are expected from brands including Xiaomi, OPPO, and realme later this year.
