Sony has launched its most massive TV yet in India in the form of the BRAVIA 5, which is a whopping 98-inch screen that’s priced at a whopping ₹6.5 lakh.
Touted as the biggest Bravia ever released in the country, this colossal television aims to turn living rooms into mini cinema halls.
At the heart of the BRAVIA 5 is Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR, designed to replicate how the human eye and ear perceive scenes in real life.
This apparently results in more realistic visuals and audio that align closer to natural human perception.

To further enhance the viewing experience, the TV uses XR Backlight Master Drive technology, which leverages independently controlled LEDs for extreme brightness and deep blacks.
This allows it to handle high dynamic range content with nuanced lighting, vivid highlights, and improved contrast.
Sony has also integrated Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, promising both rich visuals and immersive surround sound.
The TV also has Studio Calibrated Modes that are tuned for Netflix, Sony Pictures Core, and Prime Video, that are designed to reproduce content as intended by filmmakers, even for live sports.
Another key feature is Sony Pictures Core, the company’s digital content platform that lets users stream a library of films in near 4K Blu-ray quality, with support for IMAX Enhanced titles.
While its size and feature set might be overkill for casual viewers, the Sony BRAVIA 5 clearly targets premium home entertainment enthusiasts looking for a big-screen statement piece.
Available across Sony retail stores and major e-commerce platforms, the BRAVIA 5 is one of the most expensive mainstream TVs currently available in India.
