Thomson Set to Make Waves in Indian Audio Market with New Soundbar Line

Thomson has geared up to leave a substantial mark in the Indian audio market with its latest lineup of Soundbars. The company had set its sights on capturing 10% of the online segment market share. As part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, it made a substantial investment of INR 50 crore in a cutting-edge manufacturing facility for speakers.

The newly established manufacturing unit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was expected to produce 500,000 units annually. The initial launch featured two flagship soundbars, AlphaBeat25 and AlphaBeat60, with plans to introduce over 20 models within the next six months. These two soundbars were available on Flipkart starting September 21st, 2024, with prices set at INR 16,999 and INR 38,999, respectively.

The AlphaBeat Series

The AlphaBeat60, a 60-watt powerhouse soundbar, was designed to offer the ultimate sound experience for Indian homes. Equipped with a sleek subwoofer, it was tailored to fit any room size while delivering deep, immersive sound. With a 2.1-channel audio system and RGB lighting modes, the AlphaBeat60 enhanced the sound and aesthetics of home entertainment setups.

On the other hand, the AlphaBeat25 was a compact 25-watt soundbar designed for those in search of a portable yet powerful sound solution. It came with a 2000mAh battery, offering 16 hours of continuous playback, and delivered a clear, punchy sound, making it the ideal choice for on-the-go use.

Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of Super Plastronics Pvt, Ltd. (SPPL) and India Brand Licensee of Thomson, expressed his excitement about the new category expansion, stating, “We are committed to providing Indian consumers with a world-class audio experience through products that combine cutting-edge technology with affordability. Our goal is to redefine the way India experiences sound. The launch of our soundbars is just the beginning. With our Make in India initiative, we aim to become a household name in the Indian audio market.”

Thomson’s entry into the Indian audio market came at a time when the market for soundbars and speakers was expected to grow significantly. With its commitment to quality, innovation, and ambitious expansion plans, Thomson was well-positioned to lead the evolving Indian audio landscape.
