The Vivo X Fold 6 launch dates have leaked. A tipster claims the foldable will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. He also says the global debut will be October 1. That comes four months after the China launch. However, Vivo has not confirmed either date.
The leak includes more details. The phone reportedly comes in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB versions. Colour options include Nebula Teal and Prism Black. The global model may also ship with OriginOS 7. The China version runs OriginOS 6 Fold. Pricing remains unknown. Earlier estimates put the India price above ₹1.5 lakh.
Vivo launched the X Fold 6 in China on June 26. Pricing there starts at CNY 7,999. That is roughly ₹1.05 lakh. The foldable has an 8.02-inch inner display and a 6.51-inch cover screen. Both panels run at 120Hz. They also reach 5,000 nits of peak brightness. The phone weighs between 228g and 235g. It measures 4.4mm to 4.8mm thick when unfolded and has IP58 and IP59 ratings.

The phone runs the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition. This is Vivo’s first MediaTek chip in a foldable. A 200MP main sensor for the rear cameras. A 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP periscope telephoto support it. It has a 7000 mAh battery and charges at 80W wired and 40W wireless.
The timing has drawn some criticism online. Some fans online say the global launch arrives too late. Their main complaint is the chipset. The Dimensity 9500 was last year’s flagship chip. Meanwhile, Vivo just launched its X500 Pro series with the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Qualcomm also announced its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 range. The top chips from both brands use a 2nm process. The X Fold 6 uses a 3nm chip. As a result, buyers will see an older chip in a premium foldable.
Rivals share part of this problem. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Honor Magic V6 uses the same chip. Oppo’s Find N6 runs a seven-core version. So the chip gap is not unique to Vivo. Battery is where the X Fold 6 pulls ahead. The Fold8 has a 4,800mAh battery. The Find N6 has 6,000mAh. The Magic V6 offers about 6,600mAh. The X Fold 6 tops all three at 7,000mAh. The final India price will likely decide how much the older chip matters.
