WhatsApp is finally bringing one of its most requested features to iPhone users which is multi account support. According to a new TestFlight beta build spotted by WABetaInfo the messaging platform has begun testing the ability to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single iPhone, a feature Android users received in 2023.
WhatsApp Multi Account Support on iOS Explained
The latest iOS beta introduces a new option that lets users add and switch between multiple WhatsApp accounts directly within the app’s settings. This removes the need to log out, relaunch the app or depend on alternatives like WhatsApp Business or a secondary device.
This setup mirrors how the feature works on Android allowing users to switch accounts effortlessly. Several beta testers have reported seeing an Account List section under Settings while some see a shortcut next to the QR code icon both indicating a wider rollout soon.
How Adding a Second WhatsApp Account Will Work
The new feature will allow users to add a brand new WhatsApp account linked to a fresh phone number and use an existing account that was previously active on another phone or on WhatsApp Business
Users will not need another iPhone or the Business app as everything can now run inside the main WhatsApp interface. Early reports suggest that iOS may support up to two active accounts per device when the feature officially launches.

In addition to multi account support WhatsApp is also working on a safety-oriented feature for iOS. Soon when users search for an unknown phone number the app may display Meta verified usernames helping users recognise authentic accounts and avoid scams.
This enhancement connects to WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to introduce usernames alongside phone numbers which will offer better privacy and account verification.
