Apple has begun rolling out iOS 18.6.2 for iPhone users, calling it an essential update that should be installed right away. The release doesn’t add any new features but focuses on patching a high-risk security vulnerability that Apple says was already being used in targeted attacks.
According to Apple, the flaw was linked to the way malicious image files were processed, which could result in memory corruption. The company noted that this issue was part of an “extremely sophisticated” exploit, making the update critical for protecting user data.
Who Can Download iOS 18.6.2?
The update is available for iPhone XS and newer models. Apple strongly recommends that all eligible devices be updated as soon as possible to stay secure.
iOS 26 Beta Updates: What’s New
Alongside the patch, Apple has also pushed out iOS 26 developer beta 7 and public beta 4. These test builds include:
- Adaptive Power Notifications – A new setting that lets users decide whether they want alerts when Adaptive Power mode switches on.
- Messages Drafts Filter – A new “Drafts” option under Filters in Messages, making it easier to find conversations with unsent messages.
- Minor UI Tweaks – Small design refinements to improve the overall look and feel.
