Samsung has announced a successful start to the festive sales season, driven by favorable consumer sentiments, attractive offers, and recent GST rate cuts on televisions and air conditioners.
Sales for Samsung’s premium smartphones reached record levels during the Navratri and Dussehra celebrations, particularly with the popularity of its Galaxy AI-powered devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy S25 series, and Galaxy S24 series. Galaxy AI is Samsung’s advanced artificial intelligence system designed to enhance user interactions, providing a more intuitive and personalized experience.
According to a spokesperson from Samsung India, “The sale of premium Galaxy smartphones, priced above INR 30,000, increased by 1.4 times compared to the same period last year. Samsung is optimistic that its premium AI smartphones will maintain strong sales leading up to the Diwali festival.”
In preparation for the Navratri sales beginning on September 22, Samsung rolled out appealing festive offers on its flagship devices, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S24 FE.
The demand for televisions also saw significant growth, particularly due to the reduction in GST rates on larger models. Samsung’s premium Neo QLED and OLED televisions experienced considerable popularity among customers during the two-week sales period starting September 22. The company’s Vision AI technology enhances viewer experience by turning screens into intelligent solutions that simplify and enrich daily life.
“Sales of Samsung’s premium televisions doubled compared to the same festive period last year, thanks to exceptional deals, extended warranties, GST reductions, and growing interest in AI-enabled televisions in India,” the spokesperson added. The sales of other appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners, also grew by 1.3 times during Navratri compared to the previous year. Samsung remains confident that its Neo QLED and OLED televisions, along with its Bespoke AI appliances, will continue to perform well in the lead-up to Diwali.
The festive season also provided a boost to the sales of home appliances, with consumers eager to take advantage of attractive discounts and offers. Samsung noted that its appliances division experienced robust growth in the early stages of the festive season, aided by cashback offers, accessible financing, and extended warranties. Enhanced warranty benefits and energy savings further contributed to the surge in air conditioner sales.
