Noise Master Buds 2 Review: Bigger Buds, Bigger Beats

The first-generation Noise Master Buds were a breakout hit in India’s crowded TWS market. Priced aggressively and backed by Bose’s audio tuning expertise, they delivered premium sound at a fraction of the cost of flagship models, winning over commuters, gym-goers, and casual listeners. The success of the previous model led to the development of the Noise Master Buds 2, priced at ₹7,999. With the signature “Sound by Bose,” these new earbuds promise a deeper immersive experience, smarter features, and improved performance. But does this sequel genuinely improve the experience, or is it merely a cosmetic update? Let’s explore.

    DESIGN & BUILD

At first glance, the Master Buds 2 look almost identical to their predecessor. The charging case still sports that distinctive vinyl-record-inspired circular metal disc on the lid, complete with a glowing LED strip that pulses during pairing or charging. It feels premium and tactile, with a brushed-metal finish that resists fingerprints better than glossy alternatives. However, the case has grown noticeably larger and chunkier, roughly 59 x 58 x 26 mm and weighing about 62.4 g. The edges are sharper than the softly curved first-gen model, making it slightly less pocket-friendly for jeans or slim shorts. It’s still compact enough for most pockets, but you’ll notice the difference if you’ve carried the original daily.

The earbuds themselves are also a touch bigger, but the real story is inside the ear canal. Noise has added soft silicone stability bands (often called “ear fins” or “wings”) that wrap around the stem for a more secure lock-in. These fins improve passive isolation and help the 10 mm PU + PEEK composite drivers achieve a tighter seal, directly boosting ANC performance. The buds weigh just 5.2 g each, feel lightweight, and come with multiple ear tip sizes and interchangeable fins for customisation. Build quality is solid, with matte stems and an IPX5 rating on the buds (splash & sweat-resistant, though the case isn’t).

One noticeable quirk is that pulling the buds out of the case feels a bit fiddly. I have to hold the stability bands to pull buds easily. It’s not a deal-breaker once you adapt, but it does take getting used to, especially when you’re in a rush.

    PERFORMANCE & AUDIO

This is where the Master Buds 2 shine brightest. Powered by the same “Sound by Bose” tuning philosophy, the 10 mm PU + PEEK drivers deliver a refined, balanced signature that feels far more premium than the price suggests. The bass is deep and controlled, complementing electronic tracks like “Levitating” without muddiness. Vocals in Bollywood songs and podcasts are clear due to the forward mids, while the highs remain crisp, even at higher volumes. The addition of the LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res codec over Bluetooth 6.1 enhances detail. The 360° Spatial Audio with head tracking offers an immersive experience, although it’s best used without ANC. Motion controls are an unexplored feature, but can be unreliable in noisy environments, while touch controls are more dependable.

Noise cancellation has improved significantly, effectively reducing background noise, making it suitable for daily commuting despite occasional loud sounds getting through. Transparency mode operates naturally, and the 6-mic ENC system ensures clear calls, even in windy conditions.

Battery life matches claims, offering around 6 hours of use with ANC and up to 30 hours total with the case. A quick charge provides 5–6 hours, and typical use can stretch a week between case charges. Bluetooth 6.1 supports stable connections and dual-device pairing, though occasional audio handoff glitches may occur.

    VERDICT

The Noise Master Buds 2 mark an impressive upgrade, building on the success of the first generation. They offer richer Bose-tuned audio, improved ANC with a stability-band redesign, new features like spatial audio and head gestures, and excellent battery life. Priced at ₹7,999, they compete with higher-priced rivals, delivering flagship-level sound and immersion.

However, they have some drawbacks, including a bulkier case and minor fit issues for extended wear. Bass enthusiasts may also find the low-end a bit restrained. Despite these quirks, they represent a significant improvement for users, especially fans of the original model.

For those seeking premium sound without the hefty price tag, clear calls, and effective noise cancellation, the Master Buds 2 are a strong choice.
