Logitech has launched the MX Keypad in India. The company calls it the first MX device built as a multi-app AI control centre for developers. The keypad works across GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, VS Code, and IntelliJ IDEA. It puts prompt macros, code refactoring, and quick commands on physical keys, so developers switch between tools less often.
The core of the pitch is customisation. Any key can control one app or several apps at once. That flexibility lets each developer build a layout around their own coding stack, instead of a fixed template.
The keypad also comes out in partnership with GitHub. It ships with native integration for VS Code and the GitHub Copilot app, and Logitech plans to add support for more tools over time. Every MX Keypad includes three free months of GitHub Copilot Pro+. Anatoliy Polyanker, VP and GM at Logitech, said the keypad puts “a physical control center at your fingertips,” letting developers manage their AI workflows faster.
Developers who want more customisation can use the Logi Actions SDK. It comes with AI-friendly documentation, so coding agents can generate custom integrations directly from it. The community has already built plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, and published them to the Logi Marketplace, reaching over 100 million compatible devices, per Logitech.
Pricing is set at INR 15,999, and graphite is the only colour listed so far. The release doesn’t specify an India launch date, the number of physical keys, connectivity type, or battery life. Those details will likely surface once retail listings or hands-on units show up.
MX Keypad vs Elgato Stream Deck
Elgato’s Stream Deck line is the closest existing comparison. The Stream Deck MK.2 costs around ₹12,499 in India. It’s built for streamers and video editors, integrating with OBS, Streamlabs, and editing software like Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Logitech’s MX Keypad borrows the same hardware idea, customisable, macro-driven keys, but points it at coders instead of creators.
For developers juggling multiple AI coding tools, the MX Keypad is a more workflow-specific alternative to a general-purpose macro pad. Whether it can match Elgato’s ecosystem depends on how many plugins Logitech’s developer community builds in the coming months.
