Nike has officially launched the Vegam Run, a running shoe designed for India’s next generation of runners. This innovative footwear combines cushioning, breathability, and durability, making it adaptable for running and everyday wear.
The Vegam Run is Nike’s first running shoe tailored for India, developed with direct input from local runners. Insights from these athletes highlighted the need for a shoe that supports both training and daily movement, addressing the country’s growing runner community.
Deepa Ramprasad, Senior Director of Nike Road Running Footwear, stated, “Our ambition with the Vegam Run was simple: honor the voice of the runner in India and build what they need.” The result is a shoe designed for daily use, providing comfort and support for athletes at every stage of their journey, whether they are beginners or experienced runners.
The Vegam Run features an engineered mesh upper for lightweight breathability and a comfortable fit, paired with Full-Length Foam for enhanced cushioning. Its durable rubber outsole is designed to withstand daily wear, while pull tabs are included to facilitate easy wear.

The design reflects a modern, approachable aesthetic, with colourways inspired by local culture, including the After Dark Tour colourway, which celebrates an upcoming event in Mumbai this December.
Tarundeep Singh, General Manager of Nike India, remarked, “There’s an incredible energy around running in India today… Vegam Run is an invitation to running for more athletes in India and around the world.” He emphasised that the innovation aims to reach a broader spectrum of athletes, from newcomers to lifelong runners.
Nike highlighted a streamlined process for developing the Vegam Run, moving from design brief to confirmed product in just 55 days and from concept to market in about five months. This process highlights the importance of responsive design shaped by local athletes’ needs.
The Nike Vegam Run will be priced at INR 3,795 and available starting November 1 at Flipkart and select retail locations in India, with broader distribution planned for spring 2027. The shoe is also set to expand to international markets in 2027.
