Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the launch of tem (Toyota Experiential Museum), a unique cultural and lifestyle destination that integrates the Indian philosophy of mindful living with Japanese culture and cutting-edge technology.
Located on the ground floor of Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia and spread across 8,200 sq. ft, tem is designed as a multi-sensory environment that demonstrates Toyota’s belief that mobility extends beyond automobiles.
The space promises a five-senses journey, offering captivating visuals, immersive soundscapes, distinctive fragrances, tactile textures, and flavours that blend Japanese minimalism with Indian warmth.
Speaking at the inauguration, Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the initiative aligns with Toyota’s vision of “creating Happier Paths Together” by enabling experiences that connect people, cultures, and emotions.
“In India, we found inspiration in the practice of Sādhanā – the mindful pursuit of inner balance and fulfilment. tem is where Japanese values of precision, serenity, and respect for nature blend seamlessly with the spirit of Sādhanā,” Asazuma said, adding that the space aims to spark mindfulness, especially among younger audiences.
Inside, visitors are encouraged to explore at their own pace through curated experiential zones. The journey begins with an immersive seasonal projection tunnel representing nature’s rhythm across Japan and India, followed by a high-energy audio-visual performance created in collaboration with DRUM TAO, celebrating cultural harmony and emotional expression.
One of the central highlights is a cascading water-curtain installation surrounding a satin-draped car, creating a striking artistic display of motion and serenity.
The venue also features a Merchandise Zone offering handcrafted lifestyle collectables and a Matcha Corner serving traditional Japanese matcha infused with Indian flavours, including a mango-based variant.
With tem, Toyota Kirloskar Motor aims to offer a space for reflection, creativity, and cross-cultural exchange. Visitors can experience it at ₹450.
