Apple has officially announced the launch of the iPhone 17e, a powerful yet more affordable option in the iPhone 17 series. The device is powered by Apple’s latest A19 chip, promising enhanced performance for a variety of tasks.

The iPhone 17e incorporates the C1X cellular modem, also developed by Apple, which offers speeds up to twice those of its predecessor, the C1 found in the iPhone 16e. The device has a 48MP Fusion camera, allowing users to capture high-quality photos and videos, including next-generation portrait modes and 4K Dolby Vision video. An optical-quality 2x Telephoto capability is included, making it similar to having two cameras in one.

Equipped with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, the iPhone 17e features a Ceramic Shield 2 front cover that enhances scratch resistance by three times compared to the previous generation and reduces glare. Additionally, the phone supports MagSafe technology, enabling fast wireless charging and compatibility with a variety of accessories.

One standout feature of the iPhone 17e is its satellite connectivity, which includes Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My features, enabling users to stay connected even when out of cellular or Wi-Fi range.

The iPhone 17e will be available for pre-order starting Wednesday, March 4, with general availability commencing on March 11. It will be offered in three colours: black, white, and a new soft pink. Priced from ₹64,900, the iPhone 17e offers 256GB of storage as its base option, doubling the entry-level storage from the last generation while retaining the same price point.

Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, Kaiann Drance, commented on the new offering, stating, “iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value, making it a compelling option for customers looking to upgrade to the iPhone 17 family.”

In addition to its performance improvements, the iPhone 17e is designed for durability, featuring an aerospace-grade aluminium body and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The advanced Super Retina XDR display, powered by OLED technology, delivers an excellent viewing experience for a wide range of media.

Powered by Apple’s efficient A19 chip built on 3-nanometer technology, the iPhone 17e supports a range of applications from everyday tasks to high-performance gaming. The device is equipped with a 6-core CPU and a 4-core GPU, enabling advanced gaming and seamless performance for Apple Intelligence features.
